I think our offense matches up well with their defense as well. A one dimensional offense I wouldn’t think would do well against the Springfield defense either. I like our chances. One thing is for sure, unlike 2022, they know what’s coming to town Friday night.2 points

This post wins the internet for the day. The nickname would have to be the Pirates. Can you imagine the Skullbone Pirates? You would get kids to transfer in just for the name Skullbone.1 point

Add another 145 yards receiving and 2 more touchdowns along with another 45 yards rushing offensively and another 6 tackles and two more Interceptions defensively! And one BIG Region Title to his resume.1 point

Thought are you’re a moron! We beat the brakes off everyone we played. Could have won the majority of our games by 100. We beat a very good Covington team by basically 11. The score at the end was a gimme and the kids let them have it. So sick of hearing this crap. If we beat Alcoa the argument will be that they are really down this year. Get on board Westview will run this region for the foreseeable future!!1 point

Thoughts on Munford??? Totally different offensive scheme than we saw in 2022.1 point

A lot of people are picking 3A Milan over Hohenwald but I digress. Not sure if Hohenwald is the same team as last year. Their record isn’t as good but I think this may be a surprise year for them.1 point

OZ will take care of the Highlanders. I agree, a rematch between OZ/Coalfield is on the horizon in the quarters. Should be must see Class A football. Will be a standing room only crowd.1 point

100% agree Polk looked like they didn't even want to be on the field against Meigs or sweetwater. It's confounding as to why they can't play with the energy and intensity that they brought against York and Bledsoe every week. This Friday will come down to who makes 1 or 2 less mistakes it seems like. Feels like this group of kids are in between the "not losing the game" and "learning how to win" parts very frustrating.1 point

Good list as always BPM. I always try to find something to nitpick for the sake of conversation but rarely can. Funny how we’re all the way through the regular season and there’s still some teams on here we’re not sure about and have questionable wins and losses. Agree that that kind of parity means West Tenn ball is strong this year.1 point

Congrats on winning the guess picks this year!! I told you that you were the Man!!!!!1 point

They should just build a new high school and combine Greenfield and Gleason and maybe Bradford .. build it somewhere in the middle .. Skullbone High School would strike fear in high school kids going there 😂☠️1 point

Nobody has...it's actually unheard of in high school to have that many solid, athletic WR. Six out of the eight touchdown passes were to a different receiver!!1 point

Lol funny. Enjoy your stay. RC fans have always been classy. The ones I have always dealt with, at least.1 point

Not knocking this team because they are very very good, but that team was just different.1 point

Depends on what the 2A-3A cut off is. They have a guy on the Board of Control who maybe has a good idea of what those numbers will be each cycle. Enrolled in the Academy in the the Milan High School building, taught by Milan High school teachers, and when they graduate from THE Academy their diploma says Milan High School?? THE Academy lol A Milan High admin is also on the Board for TSSAA this is the worst part. Two types of Milan fans tight now. I have zero respect for the 2nd. 1. This doesn't look good. 2. Absolutely nothing wrong with this and in fact we are doing an honorable service for the kids.1 point

Greeneville didn’t struggle with NorthView and scored 49 points on 23 plays and held NV to 71 yards and 7 points on 34 plays at half. Lot of good playing time for backups the 2nd half. AC will be fine1 point

If Gordonsville was healthy I'd like their chances a lot more. I still wouldn't count them out especially at home.1 point

I think you are too caught up on that myself. If they had correctly ruled that Miles Brown scored a td that would have put WV up 28-7 instead of calling him down at the 1 inch line and then imploding and having to settle for a fg there none of this would be a question either. How easy people are forgetting that Covingtons last 6 pts were also irrelevant and in garbage time. WV had defenders just standing around. The game was already over. Same cast of folks are usually the ones who will find something....anything to cast doubt at WV. Oh and Joy imo isn't even the best WR on this team, btw. That Is likely Miles Brown. Don't care what the BC East TN blow hard says either...Alcoa hasn't seen a passing attack with as deep a WR room as WV has.1 point

Congrats ST. You'll have street cred now the rest of your life.1 point

Must be talking about that drama class act of going down late in the game. The assistant was telling one of the defenders to go down near the sideline, and another one about 30 yards away thought the coach was talking to him and went down in slow motion. It's sad this college crap has crept into the high school level.1 point

Despite what happened last night, Powell is still probably one of the top 3 schools in 5A this year when healthy, so they make quite a bit of teams look below average, including my Wildcats earlier this season. MacMinn is still a pretty solid program, year in year out.1 point

As someone that has a decent amount of friends that are coaches I'll say that I don't think a coach has to be a monk to be successful at a place like FC. He would definitely need a partner that understands what she signed up for, all the better if she's actively involved with the program with the 1,000 little things that go on during the year. I think a underrated quality of a coach is efficency. Honestly feel like your not gonna get anymore out of your players in 3 hours that you'd get in 2 hours. Yes, they made a commitment to be on this team but if your practicing till 6:30, it's probably 8pm before they get to any homework. A coach needs to respect his players time as well and make every minute count1 point

There are a good number of terrific coaching staffs in high school football in this area, but it's my opinion that none is better than the current staff at West. Just solid from the top down.1 point

Agree. Heritage outscored 5A Region 3 teams 141-13. Really bites to be sitting out the playoffs after beating the pants off of three teams in Region 3. (Howevs, that’s also on Heritage for not showing up & firing on all cylinders like they should have against Halls & Central, and they know/own that.) When TSSAA reconfigures regions for 4A football in Nov, hope they’ll show some sense and align HHS to the south with their current baseball region. The few extra travel miles will be worth a better more evenly matched, competitive landscape in 4A. Super proud of the Heritage kids & staff who have dug in over the last 3 seasons to steer the program 180 degrees in the right direction. The community has also really stepped up to support the program. Hope they’ll stay on this trajectory for the 2025 season.1 point

I know last year mcminn was missing several after that scuffle that happened in Powell. I like the kees in this one but strange things have happened I said on another post it just depends which of each of these teams show up Friday, if it's the cherokees that played rhea county and walker valley rather than the one that should up earlier in the season giving away 2 back to back games in Hamilton County. Looking at Clinton's schedule the teams they beat they should have but very weak Scott and Campbell County teams, and squeaker with karns who isn't usually that great. With that their best game looks to be the close loss with Lenoir City. Its possible r4 could get a sweep with oak ridge so hurt but I know they won't go down without a fight against the golden eagles of rhea county. I like Walker valley against Lenoir City and I think east Hamilton should beat karns.1 point
