Dearest Mother- Once again, your youngest son, who is of sound mind and strong body, picks up his goose quill to inform you of our past, present and future campaigns. Last week we were about to engage the warriors from the village of Jasper. And just when the time came for the battle to commence, their Chief, RunAndHides, gathered up his would be force and fled into the Fiery Gizzard once more. It must be true; his plumed headdress is made from chicken feathers. Then, Captain Victory, try as he might, could not get Chief RunAndHides to reschedule our battle against his feathered flock. Therefore, Captain Victory and his band of Pirates have moved forward and set their trained eyes upon another campaign. This one against the Hornet men from the land of Huntland. Led by none other than Major Blue Hornet Robertson. We have never ventured into this Hornets nest that lies beautifully tucked away in the land of Huntland. But, I do believe Sweet Mother of mine, we have plenty of Bruton left over from our prior two battles with two different swarms of YellowJacket men. Tell Papa the word around the port of South Pittsburg is that the Lion men from the Red Banks above the scenic city shall not traverse down the Tanasi. Tell him the unseen enemy has reached out and struck again. Upon hearing this unfortunate news, Captain Victory has sent out a call into other lands, ports, hills and valleys for someone to step forward and accept an invitation to The Beene. Maybe that call was heard. Maybe that call will be answered. We shall see. But for the meantime, our full attention is our trek into the Hornets nest. Then afterwards, our fate for the following week will rest in the Hands of the Almighty. Sweet Mother of mine, there are a lot of unknowns in this campaign season. But one thing I was taught early on was to trust in the Lord. Yes, I trust in Him. And I also trust in Captain Victory. For wherever he leads I will follow. And just like cousin Merle's song lyrics say, I sing them now. Yes, I sing them now to everyone here and back home; If we make it through December, everything's gonna be alright I know. Defense played well enough to win tonight. OR offense had one first down and 14 yards at halftime. 65 total yards for the night. No way around it. Not gonna beat anybody good until we get it together on offense. Hats off to West. They didn't play their best game tonight. The Rebs did everything they could to let OR hang around with a chance to win in the 4th. Cat's offense just wasn't prepared well enough to go score in crunch time. I think our kids played hard and never quit. I'm proud of our player's great effort.

This will be the toughest regular season game for the Jackets this year.

If they Don't do that and the Jackets defense forces 3 & outs, obvious 3 & long passing down and turnovers to give the ball back to coach hill and that offense this could get ugly very very fast. He had 2 completions for a total of -2 yards. Again, this is a mismatch of epic proportions. I don't know if Westview is or isn't the 6th best team in the state, but they do not belong on the same field as Covington. West tennessee is once again Covington and then everybody else.

Is it just me or does the OC and HC need to start planning games a little better? Maybe they ought to do something radical and allow the QB to hit WRs on 1-1 situations. Where we know our WR can out run the corner or DB. Why not get into the rhythm of calling audibles at the line. The play calling sucks so bad I’d probably just give the QB the keys and let him do his thing. At this point, I could guarantee it’ll be better then THE MOST PREDICTABLE OFFENSE on the Lords green earth! Hate to say this because yalll know I’m a Coach G fan but maybe it’s time the AD and School Board start making moves on a new HC? I

I didn't see it last year either. We were too young and one dimensional and still scored more on you than anyone else did in the regular season, including the 2A state runner-up. I'm making the trek to Huntland tonight to evaluate the Pirates, and I'll share my observations which are always entirely objective and as accurate as possible. I've got no problem saying Go Pirates and supporting them tonight against Region 5.

No offense to my Vikings friends, but I would bet the farm on Greeneville in this game. Tenn High has a very good receiver but they just cannot seem to find a way to get the ball in his hands. In our game with them they also had at least 4 snaps over the QB's head and things like that. Greeneville seems to have way more raw talent than Tenn High and Boone combined but I'm not sure the whole package, i.e., coaching and execution, is in sync for the Devils. So when the smoke clears I could see something like GREENE 31 VIKES 17 This may all change as a result of tonight's contests though.... Greeneville @ Austin East and Tenn High @ Morristown East. I predict that tonight both Greeneville and Tenn High will win big, which sets up a nice game for next week.

I think Lenoir City will get a TD or two but I see Rhea winning pretty comfortably. We have a strong group of freshmen and the 8th grade group behind them that is also very talented. The back field on offense is going to be fun to watch over the next few years.

No one - literally no one - should be surprised by their team getting shut down. Would imagine their other fall sports will soon follow and perhaps even in-person school, All you had to do was look at their student section (and Hendersonville's) last Friday. Packed in like sardines and ZERO masks. What an absolute failure of administrative leadership at both schools. Good to see SportsGuy22 still in his denial phase. Some people never learn.

So Bad on Offense. We have a good defense and playmakers on offense year in and year out. This offense has come up short against good teams, time and time again for far too long now. What's that saying about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?
