Can't buy the enrollment argument,Wavo has twice Peabody enrollment ,if your program is solid enrollment doesn't matter for the most part.If it did then we shouldn't have one the Gold last year Meigs is the biggest 2A school and we are second smallest next to trousdale.

Hopefully the West team will not fall into the same trap OR fell in. Clinton team ran their mouth the whole game non-stop. If I remember right, last week there were at least 4 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, and 1 skirmish on the sideline after they ran an Oak Ridge receiver into the fence. T I will take West by as many trickles as they want. Clinton managed all of 8 yards of offense against OR and according to their coach, they had the better team. lol. Same ole Clinton.

Just my opinion. Ive been shut up before. Not a huge deal if Betsy does it to me friday night. Solid squad and Ill never say they arent. I simply think Rollins runs too much and sometimes doesnt let the play develop. Kids gotta killer arm too. Hughes is the best player on the field 99 percent of the time. Run game has some work to do. How would you like the trivia question to be “how did coach Austin get his first region win”. Well steve, the answer is not that easy. Remember back when Covid was a thing. Well in coach’s second year he took a forfeit from a team that hadn’t practiced in two weeks due to quarantine. They couldn’t play Friday night but could Saturday. Well a coach Austin wasn’t having it. He took that win and ran to the house.

I am a City fan and I really hope we win but I do agree with you about the one back with amazing speed. We might have more overall speed but #11 for cornersville may be the fastest player on the field. I saw him run down last year’s region MVP, who I thought was the fastest guy on our team.

Actually, Gordonsville had no money to gain from playing Coalfield. It was an away game and they were trying to fulfill contractual obligations. So, what are other schools doing when they get a positive case? Who do they quarantine, if any? We have merely a handful of positive cases. The kids that were sent home were within 6 ft for more than 10 minutes. It wasn't the whole school and none of the football team tested positive. By my math, less than 2% of the kids sent home had tested positive. Ya'll a t like all the kids quarantined are sick, when that is the furthest from the truth. I'll be honest. If you go to Walmart or the grocery store, you can't complain about scholls being open or having football games.

I would almost guarantee that everyone living on this earth has been exposed to this virus by now, but I do agree that if you feel strongly enough about the risk that you would quarantine 80 students then you should definitely not travel and take on the risk of spreading it other kids or communities.

I bet their players are proud of their coach for preparing them for that COVID win! “Hey kids, guess what!? Waverly wants to play Saturday because they can’t Friday. Glad to see there are at least some 9th grade programs still in existence. Those are vital to a school's varsity success, and should be more of a priority than they are at most places. And P-C's freshmen are always fun to watch.

People have been really creative. Last Friday's McGavock at Goodpasture was arranged less than 24 hrs prior to kick-off. It was an interesting atmosphere, with everybody seeming to be genuinely thrilled just to be playing football on a Friday night. From the PA announcer to the players, people seemed to unbelievably happy just to be at a game. I've followed high school football for over 50 years, and have seen it evolve into a pre-professional activity that runs year-round. Friday night, it was just a game for the kids and the school communities. much more in tune with the late 60's-early 70's. In the midst of a very difficult time, it's nice to see people rediscover the simple joy of a Friday night football game.

Heard Oakland was looking for a game on October 2nd. And they will travel would be a good game since y'all say everyone else is afraid to play SP. GIVE THEM A CALL or if you scared say you scared lol

I guess I am a little confused as to why you came to the message boards to voice your frustration? You actually think the WH admin checks these boards? If you care that much about the program, have you offered to help out in anyway? I know for a fact that WHHS has non-faculty coaches that help our their athletic programs. The Admin has no problem with volunteers helping out. I know the program is close to your heart and you care a lot about it so why not roll your sleeves up and help. It is a young staff and Coach Hamilton is only in year two so I would assume he would welcome help. However, like you stated earlier, you may have ruined that opportunity by now. I just think there were other ways to voice your frustration than posting on the T.

Well I do think TSSAA has a dog in this fight. I know they want every game to be played if possible. COVID keeps us from playing Friday but not Saturday. So play Saturday. It’s a region game. Makes sense to move. What’s funny is 90% of the state will move games from Friday to Thursday or Friday to Saturday if there is a chance of rain, but these cowards in East Hickman are just sorry. Enough of the smart mouth. I will give you an idea. We are going to line up in the Flex Bone and try to grind out some offense. On defense.....I suppose we will have to see because there have been some changes in the mix these last couple of weeks. I would expect some blitzing and some stunts to try and take the Tide out of step and put them off balance. After that.......hang on for dear life.

As far as the Mark Packer thing, I have never been a fan. I have listened to him denigrate high school kids and judge them comparatively as though they were professional athletes with $140 million no-cut contracts. I muted him for good when he commented about a kid, "Well, he is certainly no… so and so!", and he made the comment on a broadcast for the kid's family, friends, teammates and classmates at school to hear. There is no question that Packer has done a great deal to promote local high school programs and student/athletes; however, in my opinion, this is largely incidental. I think Mark Packer's primary objective is self-promotion and self glorification. After all, Mark Packer is the play-by-play guy, but he doesn't have to be. He could assign someone to the play-by-play position that actually has a modicum of talent for the trade, which he decidedly does not ( I suppose I wouldn't have a problem if he wanted to stand out in the rain and do the sideline interviews and play cornhole). He could still be a benefactor without the unabated need for personal recognition. However, he fancies himself, I believe, as the next Musburger; only, nobody else does, so these high school games are his only outlet. I can't speak for everyone, but this is one Farragut fan who has no use for him in the play-by-play role.

We can talk stats, size, speed, coaching, refs, or whatever you want to measure. You can not however, measure heart. Our boys were clearly out gunned with talent. They never stopped. Played with everything inside of them all game long. ZERO turnovers in the game. This is unbelievable to me. SGC had its way running the ball, and Haywood had its way passing it. Big play, after big play was the story of the game. Haywood has some real deal dudes playing receiver. They made some unbelievable catches tonight. Very rarely seen in high school sports. SGC made some unbelievable runs to counter the passing attach from Haywood. Our QB played the best game of his career tonight. SGC's DLine played its best game of the season tonight. I will say that I am very proud of our boys! What a team effort to beat a good Haywood team. Also, I want to say thanks to the fine folks from Haywood. They were very hospitable, and kind to us. I really appreciate it. First class guys! First class!!! Haywood has been hurt with " the cooty virus " god. 2 games getting cancelled, and not having a preseason.... You could tell that Coach Smith and company have not had enough time to get the right players in the right spots to win. They WILL get it done. Coach Smith is fine coach and they will figure it out. So we 100% know that everyone of these kids caught Corona at the ball game?? Or are we even 100% one kid caught the virus at the ballgame? Just because these kids are quarantined doesn’t mean they have COVID. To require a quarantine all you have to do is come in contact with someone with COVID. This IS the administration taking safety first IMO!

I know that several football programs have told him what they think of him. If you listen closely you will hear him use his TV platform to talk badly about those programs. He goes out of his way to run those programs down. Listen closely and you will know who they are.
