  1. It’s all in good fun for me. 99% of the time we’re making score predictions against teams we haven’t even seen. And what kind of fan gets in here and says there team is about to lose? That’s just crazy talk. This just gives us something to do between games. If people see something they don’t like it’s free to scroll on by. Every year I plan to be more respectful but there are the worst kind of trolls on here that will just drag you down to their level where the snakes s##t and make you get into and back and forth. When we over predicted the beech score that wasn’t trolling, that was an honest opinion, however some people won’t let it die. And it’s not even beech fans. It’s other folks who’s team hasn’t even won a game and they want to trash us. So it gets hard to not to lash out. I’m already thinking about kenwood. Like we all are. And stiiiiill it’s what about HC losing to beech from some of these people. HC is gonna be just fine. It’s not the worst thing in the world to be humbled before going in to region play.

  2. why not name who you was talking about as "new" posters. You named your old buddies lol. I just like keeping things real if you gonna go there...

  3. I hardly ever post and just mainly read. The "new" posters you are talking about are clearly just having a good time on here and mean no harm. Maybe I'm just younger and get it idk. I see nothing wrong with anything being said. Looks like two fan bases having fun talking a little bit of smack. I enjoy it. I say keep it up. It makes things a lot more interesting than constantly talking about X's and O's. I love the passion being shown by HC posters.

  4. As a lifelong HC Big Red fan and a long time Coach T reader and occasional poster, this message board is not enjoyable like it used to be. The ole days of OldDevil, Prophet, Drewcephus, RedSwarm, SEC1rules, MSURacer, and others when there were actual discussions about high school football are a thing of the past. You notice many of these are no longer on CoachT, but I guarantee you they are at games on Friday nights cheering on Big Red. There are a few newer HC posters that are over zealous and talk big/smack (very seldom actually discuss football) then get their feelings hurt when HC gets beat - even by a very good Beech team. Yes they can post whatever they want to, and get mad and take their ball and go home, and delete threads,,,, that is their right. Yes all teams have those type of fans. But I don't need that. I will still occasionally read/post on the threads, but will always be a Big Red fan just like the other 3000-4000 that attended the game Friday. I guess I'm just too old for all this extra stuff, just wanted to discuss football. Congrats to Beech on a very physical game - eers, Bump11, Tandem. As is the case in most Beech/HC games, a couple of plays are the difference between winning and losing. Good luck the rest of the season. Go Big Red

  5. One thing we should all keep real is Beech barely beat the Patriots. I'm not sure where the ball was spotted there at the end but we was dangerously close to pulling off the dub. Pick yourself up Pats and move on to the next. One game doesn't define our season.

  6. This one is on Thursday, Tyner and Marion, TC vs ER, Monterey vs York, Meigs vs Bledsoe all good 2A matchups

  9. This should be a good one to kick off Region 4-5A play. The winner of this one will have a big leg up on the region. Rhea is coming off a bye week and McMinn is coming off a low scoring loss to Cleveland. Rhea and McMinn are similar in some aspects. Both have playmaker QBs, young/unexperienced lines, and good players at the skill positions. With the game being at McMinn I’m sure we will have a fine officials crew for this game.

  10. Don’t think fumbling is the issue in Meigs county that will happen here and there. The main issue that has been there is the coaching staff, the way they handle games is just sad. Having athletes like last year in #15, #2, #8 and #77 on offense saved some games for them. Along with them same kids plus #3 and #26 on defense. When you got kids that can play you get bailed out. Defense looked lousy against a good sweetwater team. Early line had no pressure and all game middle linebackers were backing off the line with first step back and that can’t happen. I think it’s starting to show how lucky boss man fitz was with talent. Coaching must improve all around to win games when it matters. Plain and simple. Excited to see this team grow though, as they are young and got some young playmakers.

  11. "They" are younguns. One of the names involved is surprising. She should know better. Just give it some time and see if Old "Fake" Dillard knows what he's talkin about. You think I'm jokin but I'm not.

  12. West Tennessee is loaded with 2A teams this year. The semi-final matchup will be more competitive than the state championship just like last year. I have Union City and Riverside matching up in round 4.

  13. Sweetwater has Improved drastically we came back and won. 6 turnovers against Kings academy and still made it a game. I'd say the odds are in our favor. Chances are which ever team loses this game will likely lose against Polk and be out of the playoffs. Let that sink in. Polk is most improved in the region and will be a handful for any team in the region imo. Loser of this game is 5th seed I'd bet on it.

  14. I just received word that Coach Ted Wilson is coming to the Farragut vs Maryville game this Friday. The MHS staff is organizing an informal, impromptu reception for him in the Don Story Athletic Center starting a 6pm pregame. Come by and say hello to Coach!

  17. I would have liked to see a few more shots from HC through the air in the first half. I'm not sure if it would have made a difference but it couldn't have hurt. Let that senior QB and senior WR's loose...

  18. In the last 4 years, Westy and Watertown have played 5 times (4 in regular season, 1 in playoffs). The point totals for westy were 0,6,0,6,0. For a total score of 165-12 in favor of Watertown in that span.

  19. Hardin Valley will be better, but still just not enough horses to see a major difference in record this year, in my opinion. Bearden wins comfortably.

  21. in all seriousness, while i will never deny thinking some HC posters are delusional and arrogant, it is typically all in good fun. i’ve said in years past that i usually cheer for the Pats when they aren’t playing Beech. They’ve always been a fun program to watch over the years and i absolutely love the rivalry that has developed between us. I definitely mean no harm in my posts but i’d be lying if i said i didn’t enjoy stirring the pot here and there lol

  25. The line is where most games are won or lost IMO , so it’s nice to have some size up front. I think the depth backfield with several guys that can tote will be nice as the season goes on as well. Won’t have to wear one RB out.

  31. That Beaver/Graham game is on my bucket list someday. I went to Kentucky Saturday to check out a doubleheader. Pikeville vs. Covington Catholic was the marquee game. Pikeville has a QB that doesn't really throw the ball well, but has some wheels. Had a 29 yard and a 63 yard TD run Saturday. Covington Catholic is a 5A just south of Cincinnati. Really good game, with Covington Catholic coming out on top. Pikeville is 0-2 to start the season which is very rare for them, but their losses have come against 4A Corbin and now 5A Covington Catholic. My guess is they'll be back in Lexington at Kroger Field in late November for the 1A championship game. Would love to go check out a Belfry or Johnson Central game at some point as well. Those are two other southeast Kentucky football dynasties.

  32. Knowing how bad the Volunteer game was going to be... we went to Bluefield VA/WVA and watched one of the great American Football Rivalries - Graham G-Men vs Bluefield. Fabulous stadium (both team share stadium) and atmosphere, seats 12,000, place was packed and had another 2,000 around the field. Instant classic, Graham 29-25 winner. 2 really good football teams with speed like we do not see in north east Tennessee except on rare occasions. Prob go back to that game every season the Indians are on the road the same week. Hopefully the Hurricanes can put up a fight for the Indians this week. Indians 38-07

  37. Couldn’t agree more with you!! I mean you hand both of your work horses the ball 12 times total the whole game. Heck Forrest radio announcers was comparing Franklin to Donta Hightower. I don’t think he is that caliber of player but if someone is comparing you to him , you need the ball more than 10 times.

  39. Maryville rarely leaves their county to play a game. They have never played a respectable out of state opponent.

  40. maybe I am biased but I think this is good for TN football in general. i know oakland just won against a good out of state opponent and others are too. I like putting our best against other states best and seeing what happens. i'm sure it has been going for a while for teams like maryville, alcoa, mccallie, BA, etc but I am new-ish to football as my kids get into it. on a side note it was clear, in addition to kaleb beasley and edwin spillman, that bryan longwell was one of the best players on the field and he gets very little attention from a recruiting standpoint. but I guess that is about to change.

  42. That officiating comment is laughable. In McMinn's only home game this year they received 17 penalties for 140 yards. I went back and checked the last two games that Rhea played at McMinn, and McMinn received far more penalties for far more yards than Rhea did, so those officials seem to have really helped Rhea. Maybe that's what you meant by the "fine officials crew", meaning Rhea gets the advantage?

  43. Hate to say it but this will be another snoozer....actually you guys will be Rip Van Winkle until Sept 23. DB flips a coin and picks the score. If I was coaching DB I would use these next 3 games to work on penalties because that sounds like the big glaring weakness right now. Don't worry about trying to win 50-0 just work on discipline and playing within the rules, the score will take care of itself. You can't get into the playoffs and have 100 yards in penalties and have any success. And before anyone mentions it, yes, my TrailBlazers are just as bad, we have at least 200 yards of flags over the past 2 games. Can you imagine DB playing Boone this year, it might be a quarter mile of penalties combined.

  44. sounds like something for LA to aspire to! I like the 1 out of zone counts as 2 rule. never heard that. bet oakland and maryville would have to join the SEC. : )
