3a in east has given up hoping to win that game, I think Alcoa is bored with us, there are some 4a teams who think they can compete,3 points
-
Great Thread. Please do one for 3A. The deadline for schools to declare which class they want to compete in is tomorrow. Pearl-Cohn will elect to play 4A again.2 points

when does it become final on where everyone plays. Turtle if you played I'd give AE a chance,2 points

East gets the W, but I do believe there is a chance these teams meet again in Quarters. Smith will have to beat Fairview or Waverly to do so. I also believe East has a chance to win it all this year.2 points

I expect HC to win this one by a good margin. Hopefully we stay healthy and get ready for a playoff run.1 point

Rhea and Powell are 5a. Bearden and Science Hill are 6a. But yes both betsy and AC schedule a good non-region schedule. I believe that AC actually had Corbin High School from Kentucky on the schedule and Corbin dropped them late in Jan-Feb and That's when AC and Betsy picked up a non-region game against each other.1 point

No don’t want to be consider under dog. But with one loss all comments lately have wrote UC off. We lost to a good Westview team. No excuses. The same Westview team that beat Huntingdon and also the Westview team that only beat Ripley by 14 points. UC beat Ripley 41-3 which is the game our starters got banged up. So no I don’t think we are the underdogs, I think this will be a real good game with everyone healthy as can be. Two talented teams that love to pound the football up the middle and two defenses that are looking to make a statement. There are never excuses just results. UC by 14. Go Tornadoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #Statement Time1 point

^^ Sounds about right and it’s just really out of sorts that we’re talking about Maryville like this. Guess it’s been so long that they have ruled the roost….1 point

As long as Cheatcoa stays in 3A and refuses to move up, ill take anyone over the Cheatnadoes at least until they stop running away like cowards and finally move up a class So I too root for AE as well1 point

Ladeux could start for any other team in East TN,(with the exception of Latham (West), he just happens to be the backup for the best running back in East TN!1 point

There is a sense of unity with this team this year that hasn’t been seen since 95… the players are holding each other to a standard. Possibly have the most complete team in atoms at history on our hands1 point

WG seems to have improved quiet a bit since the beginning of the season. Getting a little better each week. I do think it will be a great game and great atmosphere, but I’m not sure WG has enough horses? CD has really good team; I’m impressed with what the 1st year head coach has done there this season. I can see CD pulling away in the 4qtr, but who knows? I would say this, it is one of the biggest county games in Greene County in a very long time. I would expect the majority of Greene County to be in lower after Afton Friday night for this huge game. Good luck to both teams CD 42 WG 311 point

It's way simpler than that. Privates SELECT their entire student body from a pool of applicants and reserve the right to restrict enrollment. If they chose to do so, they could admit only football players. Were not debating whether they do, we're examining whether the opportunity is there. The basic mechanics of the acquisition of your student body is different from the ground up. Football teams are assembled from the student body, thus the selection of participants is also different, dictating the need for a separate division. In one simple statement...private schools have the unrestricted ability to hand select their football team from a large pool of prospects, while restricting overall enrollment (classification).1 point

This is what he does man. For years he has gone all over the message boards making outlandish posts just to get a rise out of people. He is a troll and you should just ignore him. Besides his team is Fulton. They are horrible.1 point

Actually Fayetteville needs to win this game or have Moore County defeat Huntland to secure the region. Smart money is on Fayetteville though.1 point

Praying still for that young man...if anyone has an update let us know. I know its not the same thing but a key West player got hurt after the interception and his knee buckled and fell right to the ground. He didnt play the rest of the game. I hope hes ok as well.1 point

Being perfectly honest, no one has threatened Haywood to the point the game was ever in doubt past the first quarter. Both Lexington and Covington scored late after the outcome was determined and SGC was done after the middle of the first quarter. As a fan, I was most threatened by Covington and Milan going into the game. We will see what Covington thinks of itself when they decide to renew with the Tomcats for two more years.1 point
-
No disrespect to obion, but they haven’t seen a team with the tempo and speed of this years Tomcats1 point

Pretty good list! These are all good football teams! I believe I would have Covington ahead of UC and Huntingdon ( yes I am a little bias, LOL). This is simply because Covington handled the mustangs in a preseason scrimmage and though the chargers/tornadoes jamboree seemed a little tight, I believe Covington would better the tornadoes in a real game. The Chargers lost to a REALLY GOOD Tomcat team Friday night! Covington is fast and physical but the Tomcats are just on a whole different level. HC might be the only team in Rural West TN (if not all of west tn) that could hang with them. I do not know enough about McKenzie so I am going to respect what I read on the T about them. USJ seems to have a strong air attack (based on what I’ve read on the T) which seems to give the Chargers trouble sometimes. Again, good list and thank you for the time and effort you put into this!!1 point

Peabody taking this one pretty hard. I asked in a previous thread about the expectations for the Tide this year. I believe you will need to adjust them.1 point

Meigs and bledsoe loses, meigs is out. Marion and Polk loses, Marion is out. So meigs has trouble with the spread? Ironically Marion has trouble with the power game.1 point

They are all bad. When they gang up on this guy and say a video is hearsay idiots ….. I mean do they honestly think they could hear what everyone in a stadium with thousands of people in it were screaming. They got mad at me because I said I wouldn’t be surprised. It happened to our players at riverside. It happens but it shouldn’t. Pure arrogance mixed with stupidity1 point

Unaka parents just need to get their kids to play rec ball somewhere. They'll never consistently compete with cland unless they do. Our grasscutters just shut out the best team in Bristol 25-0. They play Greenville next Saturday for the championship. The boys will have a ton of football under their belt by the time they get to high school.1 point

No debate to it. I have zero respect for anyone in that position if they don't promote their kid. The ideal coach works to secure offers for every player who has a shot to get one, but the guy (or lady) who ignores interest should be fired on the spot. These kids get one shot, and to be able to extend their playing career for a little while means a lot...not to mention the financial and educational aspects. Life changing decisions concerning other people should never be taken any more lightly than coach would if it were his own kid.1 point
