  2. Ryan Harris is one of the best D coordinators in the midstate. The hours he puts into being good is unmatched in these parts and you can tell by the way his defense plays.

  4. Terrible clock management to allow that td before half on our coaching staffs behalf. Our D is prepared pretty well as usual but our offense can’t seem to get much going to help the D. Common theme there for several years now

  6. I think the Coach Mawae quote in the Tennessean about Deuce leaving because of missing his family is what forced the TSSAA - or others to force the TSSAA - to peel back the onion. Perhaps without that admission, it might be business as usual.

  9. I respect this! I may have my opinions about the Mckenzie and Huntingdon game, but yall were the better team that night and have been for 4 years now. I will also be pulling for yall to run it back this year! Good luck to Mckenzie in the playoffs!

  11. Here is the problem with your statement, You are not allowed to recruit under the TSSAA rules. If those rules change than I would agree with you but you can't reward someone with a transfer without consequences when you have broken a rule.

  13. Don't pay attention to Appvol. His wife wears the pants and he is very ignorant when it comes to football. He has gotten mad several time when Hampton doesnt take it easy on Cloudland like he thinks they should. I think he is a Liberal who likes to complain when "MY SON" gets whipped by Hampton.....

  14. On a side note, I hate the loss for our seniors. Great young men. I’m thankful to have gotten to be close to these guys over the years. Jacob Richardson and Brady Graves will be very hard to replace next season along with several others. Proud of the fire my nephew #20 colton Sizemore plays with. I’m glad we get to see that fire one more year! We have some talented young men coming up in this years freshman class! Last but not least Cooper White is a heck of a ball player coming back next season. A lot of folks didn’t realize he’d been playing with a nagging injury and played through it like men do. Go Eagles!

  15. There's just not that many kids up on the mtn,so you really can't afford to lose 1 or 2 starters, plus most of the people who move in are retired very few families moving in with kids, and it's not just roan mtn,it's up the creek and Hampton as well.i have to say and I hate to say it but for the past couple of years region 1 has to be the weakest in the state, there's no reason cloudland shouldn't win it every year.

  23. Q. How is influence for athletic purposes interpreted in the recruiting rule? A. Examples of influence for athletic purposes may include, but are not limited to: 1. Offers of or acceptance of any special privileges not afforded to other students, whether athletes or not. 2. Offers of financial aid based on need to any prospective student-athlete by any member of the coaching staff. All financial aid questions should be referred to the principal or person in charge of financial aid. 3. Inducing or attempting to induce or encourage any prospective student-athlete to attend any member school for the purpose of participating in athletics even when the special remuneration or inducement is not given. 4. Any initial contact or prearranged contact by a member of a coaching staff or representative of the school and a prospective student-athlete in the seventh grade and above. 5. Offering or acceptance of any item with school advertisement (shirt, caps, jackets, etc.) to a prospective student; provided that this example does not apply to items of only nominal value (pencils, etc.) that a school gives to all families that participate in the school’s admission process. 6. Admitting students to athletic contests free of charge based on their participation in athletics with nonschool teams. 7. Recognizing students at athletic contests based on their participation in athletics with non-school teams. 8. Coaches or their representatives sending questionnaires, cards or letters, contacting, or visiting prospective student-athletes and/or their families at their homes. For purposes of the example, the terms “coach” assumes that the individual initiating the contact is acting in his or her capacity as a coach. If that person serves another role at the school and is not acting in his or her capacity as coach, then there may be no violation, unless the contact is really a method for what is in fact the use of influence for athletic purposes. 9. Coaches or their representatives providing refreshments, gifts, and/or asking prospective student-athletes or family members for contact information. 10. Any social media post that encourages prospective student-athletes to consider attending the school.

  25. Of course the most serious infraction was having 2 student athletes playing without their parents having moved here while living with another player and giving a bogus address for them. The school was already on probation for what most people consider a very minor infraction.

  28. It’s not about the numbers. It’s about the media votes. We had one get snubbed last year as well. We were fortunate enough to get a finalist in 2021. Boldin will continue to put players in contention.

  30. You do realize White is rarely playing 4 quarters right? Imagine his numbers if he did. The competition doesn't matter for him he is matchup proof. Kid put up 300+ yds/game against McKenzie & Fayetteville last yr who did that besides him?

  37. Well…. First of all my wife and I are season tickets holders regardless of W’s and L’s. Marky Billson is a loudmouth without much of an audience. He has been removed from various ETSU interactive groups for rudeness and profanity towards ladies. He is irrelevant except for the area between his ears that he lives in. Those that want change quote him. Coach Q is a great coach and gentleman. He cares about his charges. problems he had or has no control over. 1. We graduated out heavily the year before he came including all conference and all Americans. 2. Injuries at the QB position 3. The first Saturday of this college season I heard 3 former ETSU players names called out on 3 pretty good D1 schools. (Transfers) 4. He pretty much inherited Sanders staff. Nothing wrong with the staff but not always like minded. having said the above, we seemed whipped upfront with out a lot of depth. Confusion getting players on and off the field. Too many minor back breaking penalties, usually offsides or a formation penalty . Coach needs to get much tougher. I’m not astute enough to assume the solutions, but Coach needs another year. When the season is over, he needs to evaluate himself, staff and team with an absolute honesty. Implement a plan and work with the AD and School President who is pro football. Sanders did a great job but there was a clique that wanted his job after a couple of back to back bad games. Many Johnson City citizens and ETSU alumni are just glad to have football back. The people around me wish we had more wins but support the team. Crowds are sparser but the schedule is terrible. Only 5 home games, Carson Newman the first home game had terrible lightening delays and finished after midnight. Not another home until we waded through 3 away games. Our last home game preceded fall break and the student body was diminished by 80%. People are now in the habit of doing other things. George needs a signature win. Over his head????? I don’t know? but what I have listed would sink a lot of good coaches.

  39. Something important you are missing is the probation they were put on this past Spring for using an Athlete in a social media post about their Endeavor program. It put the entire Athletic program on probation for a year. So, while I feel sorry for the seniors and juniors who won't be able to play in the playoffs this year and next, they and their families knew that one slip up by the school, the coaches, whomever, would land the school and the program in hotter water than usual. Not a reason to leave but certainly a reason to be very unhappy with the athletic department and football coaches who had to know that the family members had not officially moved here from Mississippi. Likewise, the assistant coach knew that he had sent texts that could harm the program and seemingly would have sent them while already on probation. If the school had come forward in September and made the TSSAA aware of the infractions themselves, I wonder if they would have just been able to forfeit the win and dismiss the coach.

  40. If you are going to beat Haywood, you better do it this year. You are correct, the Tomcats weren't expecting that, guess what, they will know next time. So your path the defeat them will be much harder next time. All i'm saying is, you should have beat them the 1st time.
