  1. I am not sure who is more annoying, you or the guy from Maryville who always posts using hillbilly language.

  2. Preach on! 100% agree. The schools that are running YouTube live have a good product. Clear, very little lag time, can have audio overlay or just run the stadium announcer. @ReitzFan out in West TN speaks out about this all the time.

  7. I'm hearing rumors that two former staff members one of which is a coordinator and the other is a head coach of other programs are now helping covington on the sideline during the playoffs. Is this legal? Can they do this? I also wonder how the kids and fans of the other two respective programs are feeling about their coaches helping another school go on a potential playoff run.

  8. Y'all have a couple of good eating places in Dyersburg. I partook of that Chinese buffet last trip. It was more appetizing than the Covington loss to Dyersburg. That part was hard to swallow.

  9. It should be a great one. Two of the states top notch teams! The winner will beat Greeneville.

  11. I'm sure the defensive coordinator will have a good game plan for Marion. He has done really well since taking over this year. Offensively the qb will have to have a big game, and he has struggled some this year. Time to step it up, he has always been a gamer. Offensive line will also have to play well. I feel like those two spots have been weaknesses this year. Next year, will be the same, big improvement will be needed from both. Question for me is can the Warriors gang tackle Groves enough to slow the running game down. There is no doubt that the pressure will be dialed up on the qb. Hopefully it will be a good game, next year there will be a rematch in the qtrs.

  12. I think there are has been many on here whose team(s) did not make the playoffs who have taken shots concerning the competitiveness of this game. This should be a competitive game.

  18. It's not crying, it's others and me laughing at the DB folks' (including yours) comments over the years. My statement about DB's "mythical championships" has obviously triggered you. I'm sorry that your Indians haven't even appeared in a state championship game since the playoff format began in 1969. That's 54 long years they've had a chance to prove themselves. But, hey, you can always say you were Big East Champions! As far as DB's football players, when I was at ETSU I used to meet up with some girls that were "supposed" to be going with them. One minor, but important note - it's idea, not ideal. Admitting to yourself that you're just butt-hurt would be good therapy for you. I hope you seek help asap.

  24. Dunlap will see about 85% of that team next year so hopefully you get a little bigger and stronger. But hey everyone has an excuse when you lose. We've heard it all. Half our team didn't dress out, we played our jv team, we had a lot of injuries, we played a bad game, we played with 2 left shoes, our cheerleaders only had 1 pom pom, etc.... Sometimes you just lose to a better team.

  25. So an HC and a DC of two different programs are on the sideline helping their old employer now that their teams are done playing? Don't think I've seen that before. That's definitely not legal.

  26. Yikes. I'm not familiar with the current principal, and a lot of the administration is either gone or retired since I was there. But it's obvious they don't care too much about promoting football and sports. The game broadcasts can bring a lot of positive attention, advertising opportunities, great experience for students looking to get into that field, I could go on and on. And it doesn't have to be a complicated setup. Just give me a wide shot camera angle, a closeup, a scoreboard, and announcers. That's literally all they need for a solid game broadcast, and they refuse to do it. It blows my mind.

  27. Like I have stated several times over the course of several years, I like TP. I’m not personally attacking him, I just don’t know why he continues to do the same thing that apparently has reached its ceiling. MJ is never going to move beyond where they’re at if something different doesn’t happen.

  28. Macon could beat Putnam if they meet again. It was very close the last game and Macon committed 12 penalties and had 2 turnovers. Don’t think that Putnam is some massively better team.

  32. Martin is doin a great job this year and the D really has stepped up and played really really good the past couple weeks BUT he ain’t on the same level as Lambert. I’m sorry he just ain’t. If you ask many around the state to name the best D coordinators in high school 1-6A even the privates. Tony Lamberts name would be mentioned quite often. Heck I’d bet people don’t even know Oneidas D coordinators name. That’s no disrespect to him at all. It’s just Lambert has been at it a long time and made a very good name for himself. I mean you take Lambert away from AC and they don’t get a ring last year.

  33. No they dont. Coach May is a fantastic coach that has great relationships with these kids. I would put Coach Mark Martin's defensive play calling abilities against anyone. Including TL.

  35. You didn't choose reg 1 Harley? Yes you did. You petitioned the T$$AA to move to region 1 so you could avoid Alcoa in the regular season. GP has always been like water, take the easiest route possible. Heck I remember the old GP coach saying the T$$AA should split the schools into county teams and city teams so he would not have to play AE, Fulton, or Alcoa to go to state. What a bunch of frauds in Gatlinburg. The GP Waterlanders

  38. So i just watched some film on SC...and they look pretty dang impressive...they look pretty big up front...the QB for SC will have to be smart with the ball...the RB looks pretty fast and appears to have good vision and good feet. this could be a hard game to win for City...City will have to bring their "A" game actually their "A+" game...the City QB will have to show up huge and make good decisions, they cannot afford to be lazy on defense at any point against SC from what i watched. 39. Betsy in a close one on the road. Betsy’ loss to Greeneville may be more of a positive than a negative. They are refocused and you can’t get back at Gvegas unless you take care of business in AC. The 4th of July in November will have no effect on the Hurricanes as they bring their own Black and Orange fireworks to the Clinton area. It’s all about D! Just ask the Hill Toppers. Betsy D front takes over and a dollar bet that Moog (my choice for Mr. Football) will have a personal LB shadow all night. May both teams play clean, the refs call a good game, the fans behave and the dog doesn’t bite anyone.

  41. Watched the Forrest and Upperman games. My opinion City loses this game by 2 scores minimum. SC is well coached, kids play with tremendous effort across the board. They are very disciplined and speed everywhere. MC won’t be a match for this team if they survive ER either. I don’t think that will happen anyway. City dressed 26 players against MC because half the team was injured by the time they played. City dominated them for 3 quarters and in my opinion the OC cost them the game with his questionable play calling and botched fake punt in 4&1 that they could have picked up in wild cat. OC coaches scared and screen passes won’t cut it, probably one of the worst Coaches I’ve ever witnessed as far as scheme and using his talent. Signal caller has been prone playing terrible in big games. McKenzie last season City had to run wildcat because he was completely overwhelmed with the gravity of the game. They were a bobbled catch away from losing to Forrest. I haven’t witnessed any progression since last year. I would almost argue he’s digressed this year. I think the speed and rush will do the same this week. The receivers at City have made him look better than he is at times. At this level of football he should be shredding defenses apart with his rating, not missing wide open receivers across the field. Last 3 weeks City has had multiple TD’s called back for movement pre-snap, offsides penalties, #8 has averaged at least a fumble in each game he’s played RB. That kind of stuff loses these games. City defense has been prone to get beat on deep passes and often get misaligned or bite on fakes. (Marion County loss) SC made it hard for Upperman to do much after the first drive, I think their QB is better than Willoughby and throws better on the run. SC completely shut down Forrest with speed and hustle. City tends to play hard for a quarter or 2 then loaf around. This is the best skill position team besides Marshall County that City will have faced, possibly faster with exception of 1 guy at Marshall County being recruited by Ole Miss that made them look like a peewee team. The plus I see for city is SC’s line isn’t the best. No attack and stand straight up on the line. It will be close for a few quarters but I think the defense wears down later in the game. Mistakes, missed receivers, and bad playing stop many drives early. I hope I’m wrong, but I call how I see it. SC 28 City 8.

  43. Everyone from Bristol to Memfuss plays for fun. Otherwise, no one would be playing. What matters is organization and coaching from the youth leagues through the feeder programs to high school. Toss in demographics, population (not school size, but area population), and it's not hard to see how the bigger metro schools dominate 5 & 6A. Last year here in Florida, the FHSAA revamped their classification system to Metro and Suburban divisions. Instead of Class A through Class 8A, we now have 1M - 4M and 1S - 4S. There's also a 1R (Rural) class for remote rural schools like Pahokee. The Metro schools are comprised of the Palm Beach county to Dade county metro area, the Jacksonville metro area, the Orlando metro area, and the Tampa metro area. The reason they did it was because these schools were dominating the state championships for the most part. It didn't matter how good of a youth league program, feeder schools and coaching staff someone like a Vero Beach had, there was just a ton more talent available in the big metro areas, and while I can't speak for Tennessee, the schools here recruit like crazy and in the metro areas, teams can really load up.

  46. Saw two druggies fighting over a catalytic converter in the alley last night. Tried to intervene but got nose broken in process. Decided to check boards to calm my mind. Only saw debauchery and lies. People squatting in glass houses throwing cannonballs. Clean schools being ruined. Need to take break for a while. Crazy guy sits in other teams dugout. Must remember to investigate further. Soon people will see the how Icarus flew too close to the sun. Never surrender. Rorschach’s Journal November 8th, 2023

  49. Collinwood is no push over and has a good opportunity to beat McKenzie this week. Haven't seen Collinwood in person, but I've heard nothing but good things. They have turned it around from the past few years. But at the end of the day, I have to go with the experience of McKenzie. I know this isn't the same team from the past two seasons, but they are use to being on this stage. Rebels get the victory by 2 TDs!
