This game oughta take about an hour and a half with these two styles of offense. Over/Under on total number of passes thrown by both teams is 8 1/23 points

They have one of the best band directors in the country. At any level. I'd trade him for a good football coach in a New York Minute.2 points

It’s like you read my mind with every word you wrote. Maryville has been so successful these last 20 plus years by being unpredictable, we no longer are . We were known for our smoke and mirror trick plays , misdirection, double reverses … a trick play now is throwing on first or second down. The 3 man line tonight was hard to watch . I could see that against a passing team but they passed 2 times .2 points

Parents are ruining sports from an early age all the way through HS. These parents wanted a change and forced their way into the school offices and got what they wanted. Now they don't want to deal with the backlash and all the negative attention that goes along with their inappropriate actions. I just hit the Google machine and this is being reported on almost every news station across the US, all the way up to Fairbanks, Alaska! But, continue to defend/deflect your actions. This is worse than the Greenback dumpster fire...2 points

Dyersburg is pissed. I made sure the players knew what primetime said on here2 points

No one will ever want this job now. You have an assistant principal/AD that hired himself to be the head coach when the talent was there and then resigned when all of those kids graduated. Now you have let the booster club members call the shots. The coaches kid did not do anything to cause SHS to lose to 3 pretty solid teams. Just awful for the administration there to let this play out this way.2 points

Onto Antioch, first off. They have a FRESHMAN Qb that will no doubt be a power 5 QB before all is said and done. The kid picked up his first D1 offer just this week as a freshman.. I’ve watched film on him and I’m not sure I’ve seen a better player at his age In my lifetime. In this state anyways. Now his supporting cast has some to be desired but when Antioch are clicking they are dangerous. They have a few speedsters and an RB or 2 that can tote the ball. After watching film on Antioch/Stewart’s Creek, Antioch simply outplayed Stewart’s Creek, Although I wasn’t too impressed with SC tbh. If MJ chooses to come out and play flat they could be in trouble. Antioch’s defense is where MJ has to capitalize, many drives I’ve watched them turn into full metro mode and provide gaping holes or busted coverages against opponents. All in all it’s good to see Antioch back to winning ways, I’m excited for this matchup and I think it’ll be a good test for MJ to either prove themselves or… who knows.2 points

West will be just fine. They just ran up against one of the best defenses in the state tonight. Nothing to be ashamed of there.1 point

Westview had 177 yards for the game with only 77 yards in the second half. Trojan offense had 328 yards for the game with 196 yards coming in the second half. All 196 yards were rushes as Dburg never had a pass attempt in quarters 3 and 4. Absolute domination in the trenches.1 point

I’ll take “things that didn’t happen” for 400 Alex nevertheless, pretty funny joke and I have actually very much enjoyed the banter on this thread this week Regardless of who wins I’m praying for a safe injury free game from both teams. I’ll be cheering on the Tigers!1 point

Yep if, big word for 2 letters, but if our ends can keep contain on the edges with the QB I like the new attitude our 2 inside LBs have been playing with lately. It’s a tall task for sure but hopefully we can give them a run.1 point

I forgot one thing. Betsy was beyond super classy. JV game wrapping up near field house, Betsy’s varsity warming up at the other end. The boys in orange unfurl a big blue flag on a very fancy silver flag pole. I think what in the world, yes I’m slow. The captains marched down the sideline flag in the middle. Rest of the squad follows in uniform order. They meet with the GMS captains in the middle of the field and present them the flag. They honored our Kaden who’s favorite color was BLUE, who died of cardiac arrest suffered at practice. Kaden’s Mom was the honorary captain and was overwhelmed in a positive way by all of this. I salute the Orange and Black!1 point

I know it’s left up to the host school to decide, but it seems to me if it’s acceptable to ring them at the State Championship games, it would be acceptable to ring them and simple little non region game.1 point

Baffling to me how there's even a debate? LA is a church funded private school, who's mission statement describes Lipscomb Academy as a religious based "community"...makes no sense to enroll there if you don't subscribe to their beliefs, or are at least open to their curriculum.1 point

Another new account trying to defend the decisions of SHS and drops this nugget on us...... This is HS Football. Under no circumstances should a Coach be called out for his game plan or his play calling on the field during a game. The more you parents and fans talk, the more its clearly apparent how this Coach was treated from day 1. Sad situation and I agree with all the other established posters when they say SHS will have a tough time finding a good coach to take over with a fan base like you have. Sad.1 point

He does realize that G’ville’s Armbrister, and a kid from Science Hill played with us in 7v7 this past Soring? That, a couple of years ago, Bryson Rollins and Jake Roberts, along with about a dozen kids from other local area teams, played 7v7 for Brigham Lyons out of G’ville and the Lyons Den. And that Deuce Morton was not just a Witten Huddle kid, but trained, probably more so, at the Lyons Den from junior high through senior year perfecting his footwork? The Den also worked with kids from South and DB. Nobody got stolen. Kids learned how to play together, which is what they will be doing in collage. Just as Amari Redd (SH) and Bryson Rollins down at Maryville Collage. If kids from Hampton, Happy Valley or Cloudland feel ELiz, is a Breyer opportunity. So be it. Just like kids feel the G Devils are a better fit then North or West Greene.1 point

I just watched smith county game from last night. They have some really big offensive and defensive lines. Should be a really good game. I’m going with upperman in this one. Upperman 22 Smith County 141 point
-
The problem with this prediction is that Smith County has really good defense ( maybe the best y’all seen this year) I do think Upperman wins but it’ll be a 21-7 kind of game at the most.1 point
-
No, I am fine NONE of us are mistake free and the One was that was mistake-free was crucified.1 point

I honestly don’t know much about either team. Looking at both teams schedule, Upperman probably has the more proven track record. I did pick Smith Co to get the W over ER last night, because I wasn’t sold on ER’s ranking position. Before the Smith Co and ER game, I though ER’s ranking was over inflated. Upperman probably has the speed advantage, and Upperman would be my pick at this moment.1 point

When Josh was hired at Bearden some of his detractors on this forum claimed he was nothing but a little league coach. Those posters know who they are.1 point
