Just let it go "J". They'll never see the light. We're all terrified of playing Cookeville and it's every schools fault but theirs. Sarcasm* A couple of these CHS fans remind of a couple of mouthy Georgia Bulldog football fans i know. The only difference is Georgia actually has the hardware of back to back nattys.3 points

Bradley Central is a great story. The Bears have had a great season. No true BC fan is over-confident or cocky. Oakland is a proven Champion and BC fans, Coaches and our team has the utmost respect for the Patriots. We are proud of our guys and pulling for #12 to be healthy to give our team the best opportunity to win. The Bears will play hard and I believe it will be a very competitive game. I agree with another poster who mentioned some of the others guys…(the non- DI talents) those guys (both teams) work extremely hard and don’t get any press, but both Coaching staffs and fan bases realize the great value they provide to their respective teams. Much respect for the jobs these 2 teams and Coaches have done to make this game a reality.. this conversation (BC vs. Oakland) has been ongoing since the first poll came out in week 1.2 points

I’m an upperman fan and even I know our schedule was not tough this year. Hardest game was macon county. Lebanon is 6a but they were not any good this year, Fayetteville is usually good but was bad. In the future we need to start making a schedule like Greenville elizabethton and Anderson county does. Anderson county’s record was not that great but they were 100% battle tested going into Greeneville last week. Upperman hasn’t played a team on Greenevilles level yet.2 points

Funny. Imagine White County being mad because Monterey wouldn't play us. Of course it's White County's fault we aren't playing Cookeville. It's Uppermans fault they aren't playing Cookeville. It has nothing AT ALL to do with Cookeville. Smirks*2 points

Same to you bud. I think our boys played hard. We didn’t play clean as evidenced by the two turnovers. I kinda think our playcalling on offense was handcuffed due to injury and we definitely have zero semblance of a hurry up. The usage of the clock was a major stumbling block. The major issue I had with coaching was in particular the malfeasance of never having a safety (or two) back with a play coming you know they are going to go to the end zone such as the last play before half. We also imo don’t do a good job of teaching technique to our dbs, such as how to line up to take away those slants. Easy to coach on a message board. Lol. We just got beat by a better team that night. Hope the Panthers bring home the gold!1 point

I don’t believe that any team needs any extra motivation for a state semifinal but Big K not being named a Mr. Football Finalist is going to give the entire team a chip on their shoulder Friday night in Nashville.1 point

Congrats to both Boo Carter and Daune Morris for being named Mr. Football finalists1 point

I had trouble with York/ER and Dresden/McKenzie. I think that both are going to be two of the best matchups in the whole playoffs.1 point

They had 1 6A team and 2 2A teams. I looked it up. One of the 2 A teams (Smith Co) had a good season at 10-3. The other 2A team (Fayetteville) was 6-6 and the 6A (Lebanon) was 5-5. By no means were any of those schools on par with a Science Hill, Dobyns Bennett, Alcoa, Knox West, Powell or Bearden. All of those 5 and 6A teams (except Alcoa, and all know about that) were on the schedules of Elizabethton, Greeneville or Anderson County. Listen, I am not knocking the Bees. Just stating facts. If they want to take the next step, they need to play tougher opponents. There’s no shame in loosing to a better team playing up or down in class. That tough competition prepares you for the goal. And that perfect record isn’t the goal. It’s winning the last 5 games of the year, and those games all being in the playoffs! If you want to beat the best you have to play that hard schedule. And I’d like to see them move in that direction. I’m from Elizabethton, but I love watching good high school football teams. If we can’t move on in the playoffs, then Greeneville. If not Greeneville then Anderson Co. If not AC, then Upperman. I’ll pull for whoever is representing our Region, Quad or the East. But I’ll admire good football and acknowledge it when I see it.1 point

I've been involved in my share of stupid arguments on the internet but this is one of the dumbest. I planned to log in and give the MC posters some grief after the game but got distracted by trolling and putting down a great player and better person and my focus shifted. I didn't have a dog in the hunt but I have zero tolerance of low IQ adults taking shots at a kid who has more talent in his injured leg than they do in their whole body. Did Brock Purdy's elbow injury at the beginning of the NFC championship game affect the outcome? Does anyone in Philadelphia care that the injury was mentioned after the game?1 point

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain...lol. Classic example of knowing just enough to make himself look silly. Paris-Inman is a juggernaut in middle school football. Their teams over the years have consistently been scary good. All true. The rest is overblown ego. Lots of players from there have gone to other schools and played, just as they have from most other really good feeder schools because they come there to play from surrounding communities. As for gold balls and competition...well, you already know about Alcoa, Greeneville, Betsy, Fulton, ect... Not saying that a hypothetical school that he described wouldn't be good, but not championship's year after year against 3A & 4A East.1 point

Good read. Didn't know the working parts of why coach was relieved of his position, but your post reads like a script from a bad B movie about a coach's ego standing in the team's way of winning. Pat Summitt was probably the best coach in any sport of my generation (if not she's on the short list), but with the unquestioned respect of anyone who knew anything about basketball and several championships under her belt, she set out to learn the triangle offense from others who she (despite not approaching her status) felt had a firm grasp of how to teach it. Bottom line was she would do anything to win, even to the point of asking for help in order to "keep up with the game". Sounds like Stephenson was afraid that the OC just might get some credit for improving on what he was doing. Water under the bridge at this point, but going forward I do hope that you folks get a good one...kids and fans deserve a little optimism past week one.1 point

in a 1 point game it's inarguable that Moore wins if he's healthy. are mckenzie fans claiming that a healthy white isnt worth 2 additional points? moore mightve won by 3 scores with him at 100%1 point

This is not a good time for this topic. We need to wait to see how many recruits Jones brings in I mean how many just happen to move to Knoxville and attend Bearden just by chance. You know the way that these Bearden homers keep trying to spin it. As far as jones going to BA, that would be a dumb move because then he is recruiting against other schools that are allowed to recruit legally and he cannot do anything legally. I just hate that the T$$AA is to cowardly to actually do anything about these schools recruiting players. I know people are going to cry where is the proof. Well just follow jones track record and ask anyone in the football business and they will tell you who does and does not recruit.1 point

fandom, do you remember posting this? "Clinton wins this in a tight one. West struggled to get out of their on way on Sat. Not sure that can be fixed in a weeks time. The Dragon’s put some points on the board and I expect more of the same this week." Oops! That one didn't age well. West had 3 picks in the game and were up 24-0 after 4 offensive plays. Just curious, who is your team?1 point

What kind of mess is this Towner man? Are you trying to make that Wizzard man real mad by booking tickets to the finals already? That Stone man done made him real mad when he beat down his team at that Grider man's field earlier in the season. You think I'm joking but I'm not. That pegleg man needs to take your computer.1 point

Without reading any of the stuff from the last several days, I hope the Tssaa takes a closer look at bands playing or artificial noise from the crowd while teams are running plays.I don’t have a problem with fans getting loud and a natural home field advantage like at Neyland, but last Friday night was classless and I’m certainly not a classy snob by any means. Funny thing is the Georgia pep band played the same junk before a snap but quit before UT ran a play. Yes , I’ve seen it many times at high school games , but the tssaa needs to go the way of the NCAA rules on this.1 point

There is only one ‘Bradley’ fan on these boards that tout about all this D1 talent. This Bradley group has several yes, but they communicate and play as a unit so well that’s why they win. A perfect example of discipline and coaching is their front 3 on the defensive line, none of them have a single offer anywhere at any level but get their job done every week. Every team, every week has tried to pick them apart and wear them down, doesn’t go well. it’s going to be a great game from both teams. Both are loaded with talented and physical athletes. It’s the matchup everyone has wanted to see happen and with that the stadium should be packed on both sides.1 point

They may pull in a few more Knoxville kids, but not of the quantity nor the caliber players as the basement boys: If you replace Graham, Hundley, Kieth, Phillips, Marable, Goins, Felts, and those five sr ol/dl with new "batch of recruits" that has equal or better talent, then you will have put together a class on par with Texas A$M's best class money can buy from a couple years ago. They'll get a couple guys but nothing like this super talented bunch.1 point

Just goes to show that teams are different week to week, York has been more consistent but you still never knows when the wheels can fly off for any team. Looks like a good matchup to me. Sounds like ER is pretty much about Running Groves, if York can't stop him, game over, if they can, York may wear um out.1 point

I still think White wins it..but Jamarion reminds me of Al Wilson. He plays with so much passion and intensity. He’s a guy when opposing teams look across they think this guy could actually hurt me. Special player.1 point

Brother Booger- what kind of tomfoolery happens goes on between McCallie & Baylor during the week leading to "the game"? Any traditions in this 100+ year rivalry? In the past, I have heard about painted pigs being delivered by one school to the other.1 point
