  1. I myself like having a few rungs left on the ladder to climb early in the season. Polls are opinions and while I do respect most it is hard for most not to be biased. Do I think my team is the best? Well they are my favorite and I would pull for them against the 85 bears. Win or lose I enjoy watching them play. Football season is one of the greatest things in life to enjoy for me. I have been a fan for these dawgs for going on 40 years now. Stood in the rain during 0-10 seasons and as long as they fought and scrapped til the final whistle I was proud. I know there are many fans out there and sometimes tensions get a little high but I always thank the Lord that I am blessed to be able to enjoy the game in this great country we call home. Oh and as always..... Go Dawgs!

  2. The d line is small linebackers good size they have stopped 2 backs that rushed for 4400 yards last year but their lines were no we're near tc line ..on film tc line looks very physical and athletic that's why I'm interested in seeing if h20 can match them when they get hit in the mouth if they can it will be a good game if not it Will be another long night at the bank simple as that.

  4. One of the best games I've seen in the last decade is the middle school matchup between Huntingdons and Peabodys junior classes. Peabody won in a bunch of over times. Great game with an enormous amount of talent on the field. Seems like Peabodys tailback drove up in a Buick!

  5. Wednesday morning Conversation: Football God speaks, "Watertown who is your daddy?" Watertown's response, "Maury still hasn't revealed the results yet Sir!" Saturday morning Conversation: Football God speaks, "Watertown who is your daddy now?" Watertown's response, "Without a shadow of doubt, Trousdale County is our Daddy!"

  6. I think Peabody respects Milan for sure. I think Peabody is a lot better than what the score showed against Milan, but the fatigue setting in at the end of the game made it a little sloppy on both ends. You could tell that it was getting to those kids because of the mental mistakes they were making. Both programs are very well respected I believe by all of West TN. Peabody has really got on track ever since Joe Gaddis came in 2012. Milan has been a well coached & force in the West for over 2 decades really. Both are very storied programs in the past & over recent years. I hope that Gibson County rivalry stays the way it has the past 2 years for many more years to come. That always brings such a big gate for those schools.

  8. So two blowout wins over 6A schools is not a good measure? Seems legit. Say what you will but I doubt any team that Greeneville plays this year will come within 20 points of the Devils. They are just that good this year.

  9. I think they would love to Dodge OR this year unfortunately a loss of 50-14 is the lessor embrassment than to forfiet. Go Mavs! And Go Wildcats!

  10. Jackets are for real this year. I see them playing in Cookeville again for the title. Watertown's two losses will be to Trouserdale. First game score 42-14.

  11. Sonny Moore has Greeneville as the #3 team in the state right now regardless of classification.

  12. Seem to me you just think every metro school that's winning is cheating. For instance you threw East in there all of sudden, why because they 2-0? So now they cheating too...smh. For as Pearl some of our coaches went to school with most of these kids parents, or know them from the parents relative or friend of the family. So why wouldn't they send their kids to play for them. On top of that PC has a winning football program. I just don't agree with you on us. Until you show proof then it's all talk coming from you, and that's not cool in my opinion.

  13. It's at east, so I'm sure east want all of that gate. Plus its 9th game of the season so either coach probably isn't thinking bout that game yet.

  27. I don’t know how many seniors Meigs has, but I know they have a lot of juniors that start including the QB, and some really good sophomores.

  30. Trousdale County with the win. The H2O passing game will be good, but the Trousdale rushing attack will ultimately be the difference in this game.

  31. The young man from Bledsoe County is Colby Rogers #2 Are you guys considering Meigs as a Chattanooga team?

  32. Until you guys fully understand what illegal recruiting is , this is a moot point. It is not totally about winning every game. It is about reaching out to kids and initiating first contact with an out of zone kid. I don't care if it is a public school or a private school. If a parent of a kid seeks a school without a coach of any school reaching out to them first then all is good. But when coaches or representatives of the school talk to a kid first out of their zone for a course or any program with sole intent to play a sport then it is wrong. Until you realize that FIRST contact is wrong then God bless you. Coaches going to middle school games decked out in school cloth with the intent to reach out to kids then that is wrong. I guess you are okay if your billboard advertisement dress attracts a parent who comes up to you and seeks info about your school without you making sure they see you like a clown on the street advertising your school. I guess i should realize that moral ethics code that every coach has to sign prior to each season means nothing. Go to the TSSAA handbook 2018-19 Section 17 on pages 19 and 20. Until coaches stop this behavior statewide in both public and private this will never stop. There are coaches who believe this is what they have to do to be winners instead of cheaters and the win at all cost mentality. I think some you on here think it is okay and justify it anyway you can. It is a moral coaching ethic that I am sure is past gone. It is sad that some coaches do this because they probably can coach they just want to win so badly they will resort to anything to do so even if it means harming another school and the coach also.

  36. For clubs that participate in USA Volleyball, the Southern Region (SRVA) does not allow tryouts until after the state championships which does cause some conflicts but has always been that way and club volleyball does involve some commitment level and sacrifices. https://srva.org/WCS/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/JUNIOR-TRYOUT-8-6-18.pdf There are 11 courts at the building. If clubs are not part of USA Volleyball then they do not have to follow the rules that the majority of clubs follow in the Southern Region. Alliance South is still operating with a new director. As for the tournaments being selected to play in I think it is all what you are looking for as a family or player. If you want to play the same teams over and over and, in some cases, not be challenged then you can choose to not travel as much. If you are a talented player you will want to play on a larger stage against top national level competition then you will choose a team that offers those opportunities. High school age players who want to further their playing careers will want to play where they get the most exposure to college recruiters. The lack of quality tournaments is what I have heard frustrated many families who made the move last year to TPV. They want to play more quality tournaments not less. Players will always move but the grass isn't always greener especially if they are chasing a "1" team. Imagine if several players move from one club to another, that "3" team level player searching for a "1" team spot might still be on a "3" team if more talented kids move with them. Be careful what you wish for. My advice is to know who the coaches are before making a decision. There are coaches who coach a "3" team that will offer better training than a "1" coach elsewhere. Do the research and then make a decision. Just an opinion of an old volleyball dad that has been through this for 8-9 years. Good luck.

  37. Sounds like Trousdale needs to be smacked off that high horse. H20 could just borrow some Marion jerseys for the game. The thought alone would make them forfeit.

  40. Maybe because, we are about minutes apart, and I know a lot of young men that play for McMinn because I teach here in Athens and had many of these young men in class, I am friends with the coaches, and I have interest in the game. I would also like to add, I have the highest respect for the Maryville program, and I enjoy reading your comments as well.

Back when we were in the same region I always said that one day Cville would put all the pieces together, no matter how bad a season y'all were having everybody knew that when we played Cville it was going to be a fight, I miss those days!

  45. Wow I noticed Greeneville will be playing some more cupcakes, Union County. While they have a great coach they are still rebuilding so it will be a while. So in all fairness Union county is just another cupcake on your schedule this year. If Union County we're to play you guys good or even score on you; I promise I will not let you hear the last. But then again you will probably keep your starters in until last minute so you can score 70 point on a team still rebuilding. How sad can you get. If they were like a competitive team I could see it. Just watch I bet you try to run the score up so your QB can pad the stats. LOL I will laugh if that happens.

  48. He probably has been... Not sure if Mountain is referring to the club coach using this "tactic" or me. Either way, "going to the corners" has served me well over the past 25 years. It might not be a popular tactic, but it definitely wins games. I do NOT condone players intentionally kicking a ball away, or walking slowly to a ball, but I do stress to be smart about restarts. No need to sprint to get the ball back in. My thoughts have always been, if we have the ball, they don't. So if we possess to the corner, they can't score. If we cross and score another goal, GREAT! But if we miss or the keeper saves it, then that gives the opponent the chance to counter and score (of which Oak Ridge was doing quite well near the end). I think Oak Ridge will do quite well. Their last goal was a CRACKER from about 30 yards out! Good luck to Gorman and the Lady Wildcats!

  50. DC, no knock on Jeff Co and hopefully it didn't come across that way. They have some strong players and are doing a good job with that program. But it's also the first time I can remember in all my years that they have beaten Farragut. More just saying it's going to be tough for Farragut, as multiple other programs getting stronger (Powell, Karns) and other strong ones staying strong (Maryville, Bearden). All programs have ebbs and flows, but for a perennial power like Farragut has been for as long as I can remember, I believe this is going to be tough sledding going forward, as most upcoming high level players are at other schools currently. Now see how much I know when they promptly go out and beat Maryville and Bearden later this year.
