  2. Yep, but unfortunately he has been dropping the football in the same manner since his freshman year. Once is excusable and correctable. A pattern is something totally different. And that opinion didn't come from me, but from recruiting analysts and coaches. But he is freakishly athletic.

  3. Go Betsy! I am a Greeneville fan from Middle TN, so when I cannot cheer for them I pull for East TN teams. If anyone is looking for good eats in Chattanooga, City Cafe Diner has 2 locations, one is about 6 blocks from Finley. Bea's Restaurant is a little drive from the stadium, good country cooking served family style. They bring food out and put it on a lazy susan, then you go to town. Everything I have had at both places is good.

  5. That’s a crazy stat. I really like watching JJ Foust. He holds some D1 offers at 5’11 200 lbs he could line up any where for Powell cause how physical and smart he plays.

  6. After giving up 112 points in the first 2 games of the season against Anderson County and Maryville the Powell defense has just given up 112 in the last 12 games. I think that’s the difference on Friday, this entire unit is playing great football.

  7. Same to you Betsy I know of a lot of Dog fans will be coming early to watch and cheer on Betsy! We are expecting you guys to stay after to pull for us too. I am hoping for two Carter Co teams to win it all Saturday!

  8. Grider and Stone are the 5 & 6th Head Coach to take the Pirates to a title game. Heath is the 3rd Grider to do so. The only one to coach a game and not go was #AllGas&NoBrakesBackToCanada. Don Grider Danny Wilson Victory Grider Tim Moore Victory Grider Heath Grider & Wes Stone

  9. Listen live to the Tullahoma vs. Elizabethton game at: I have been the voice of the Tullahoma Wildcats for 30 years. My analyst, Ken Keller, has been with me five years. We provide quality commentary. You'll always know the down, distance, score, and time left in the quarter.

  10. #57 is South Pitts best defensive lineman. #75 does not compare to him. Watched them play all last year. If 57 was 2 or 3 inches taller he would be a major college prospect.

  11. Just to set the record straight, with all respect to betsy this is tullahomas year. We are a solid team as im sure you are too, but its our year. Sometimes in life its your time and its our time. This is a gritty team that plays together and will make the play offense or defensively. Ya'll had a great year and may be back next year but its our year. We're starving for something we've never had and won't be stopped. It'll be a good game i think at first and then we'll settle in and take over. These boys are just built different and just flat out want it. IT'S OUR YEAR AND WE WILL WIN AND BY MORE THAN A FIELD GOAL OR TOUCHDOWN!! ITS WAAAAAAAAAAR! YOU GON EAT YOUR CORNBREAD !!!

  14. The family moved to Williamson County once the oldest went to college. They wanted to be closer to where their sons were attending college, so they could have an easier time trying to make their games. Main Street Preps had an excellent article about the family and the two quarterback brothers a couple of weeks ago. https://www.mainstreetpreps.com/county/williamson/i-see-a-lot-of-myself-quarterbacking-comes-natural-to-brothers-jake-mcnamara-and-michigan/article_ff6f1b6c-32bb-11ec-8e44-3ff1418dd5fb.html

  16. I would argue that Hampton coming back, down 20-8 against TC is the most impressive thing any team in 2A has done all playoffs, and maybe all year period. I was a believer after that. I know I am late but glad to be here. Yes the 2015 Hampton team was ridiculous. Forrest wasn't too bad that year either but Marion took us out and should've been state champs- as they went against a team where 80% of them likely could not spell at a 2nd grade level, yet were allowed to play high school football.

  18. King if our boys had spit on your goal post and stomped on your cloudland logo at the 50 yard line I garuntee it would have made your boys real mad. Only threat to your field was if @pegleg had landed that plane on the fifty yard line. We would have had to go to Hampton and use that Lunsford mans field after his game. You think im joking but im not.

  19. According to the latest 5 Star Preps article: Powell has allowed 7.8 ppg over the last 10 games Walter Nolen - 26 TFLs, 15 sacks, and 35 QB pressures Steven Soles - 12 TFLS, 16 sacks, and 41 QB pressures. They’ve become quite a duo as the season has progressed.

  20. Why don't you do your research before you actually talk then. I've been on here for years and you just got on here. I'm a Greeneville fan and everyone on the T knows that, but also a realist when it comes to watching teams (I use to Coach High School football and seen more game film than you will ever watch). I also know that most teams have the deer in headlights look the first time on the Big Stage. Happen to Greeneville in their first trip back in 09 and from then on it was beat downs against teams that hadn't been there before or been there in over 2 decades.

  21. South pittsburg showed class and sportsmanship at cloudland which tells me that your team probably gave the pirates good reason not to shake hands. If you all had behaved like that at cland, you probably wouldn't have made it home. WE are very friendly hosts but we expect everyone to behave.

  22. They are playoff wise with the new alignment. There are only 4 quads so it's East or West side of the bracket. Last year they would have played at Betsy in the Semi's if they didn't lay an egg against Nolensville. Nolensville got beat down the next week by Betsy 56-21

  25. Its been a given since the 1st of the season that region 1 and 2 was nothing more than a speed bump for the top teams in region 3 and 4. Wasn't Trousdale people but others in those regions picking Trousdale to whip us like a tied monkey. This Monkey don't whoop that easy, At least the Westview faithful and not on here trashing our team. I said last week that Trousdale was being very respectful whether they believed it or not. We don't really care what anyone believes, Were not coming down there for a photo op, it won't take but a few plays to figure that out. Its no secret were playing a fine team but we think we're another one.

  26. Wouldn’t be surprised if Powell gets a bunch of good freshman next year. Their OC Jones coaches the Tennessee future stars middle school team. The MVP of the TN vs KY all star game said he had his list down to TKA, Powell, and Catholic. Looks alot like recruiting but maybe they just like the Powell coaches.

  27. Same song and dance every year from the west side of the state. Chest thumping then y'all see who really is "built different". Until y'all can make it a game y'all are just blowing hot air.

  29. Solid player and on any night he can go over 100+ on any night he can also leave 100+ on the ground. If he can clean up the drops he can play WR at the next level but like you said may be destined to play DB. Greene best pure athlete to play at Powell in a long time.

  33. Someone posted yesterday in a forum that has a kid going to that school that their having an unbelievable drug problem at that school right now. I saw where a lot of people had chimed in on it but later taken down. I realize it's a problem everywhere but it did catch my eye on facebook when they had a picture of the school sign on the page.

  34. The current AD could become the weights and conditioning coach for Middle and High Schools. Maybe there are other Administration positions in the OR School System open? How about this? Minor hires Mullins as a coach at HVA? Maybe I should shut up? My wife would love that.

  35. It seems that Gordy is the Black sheep of the East this year and I love it. Lol

  36. Yep. Based on receiving stats from 5 Star Preps prior to the West game…. #9 Redmond - 962 yards, 7 tds #11 Greene - 760 yards, 9 tds # 2 Collins - 551 yards, 7 tds (I’m sure missing 4 games with injury capped his numbers quite a bit) This doesn’t include #4 Foust, #22 Magdos, #8 Jervis Brown, or # 3 Jarvis Stockton (out of the backfield). All are guys that can and do make plays. Focus on one, they just go to another option.

  37. You obviously don’t know football. East will dominate Giles. Giles knew the only way they could advance in the playoffs was to pray they got put in a new region. I bet east won’t have 5 darn turnovers lol. You sound butt hurt that y’all got smashed last week. Alcoa freshman were in when they gave y’all 12 points

  41. Powell’s RB Stockton has looked good the last two games against arguably two of the best 5A defenses. Hoping this looks like the Chiefs vs Bucs in the super bowl where Mahomes was running for his life the entire game lol

  42. Their struggling feeder programs have collapsed and they didn't have a 2021 season. Those who wanted to play in the WBHS area are either not playing or playing for other feeder programs. They need to get someone young and enthusiastic to revive the feeder programs, too.

  43. Did it affect the outcome of the game? Did it matter? To be honest I didn’t even notice. But then again, in that moment I don’t think any Tullahoma fan was looking for a reason to complain!

  44. This. It will get cleared up a week or two into the season. There is a lot wrong, said in good humor, but as always the actual act of wrestling will clear the muddy waters.

  45. Congrats to my friend @Pizzpatriot2 on his team making it to the state championship game. A lot of his haters won't ever know how it feels to be in that position, especially all those paper champions!

  46. Alcoa has a distinct recipe for it's success and it's not about how many players are on their roster. Other schools/towns could do it but many just don't. Alcoa has an excellent youth football program. These kids have been wearing those colors since they were able to play football and the high school is in direct involvement with the youth and the middle school programs. These kids have been playing championship football, together, for over a decade in many instances and winning is culture. While Anytown HS Football has been together for maybe four. Alcoa is essentially preparing for state title runs 12-13 years in advance. An excellent booster program is also key to success, money will get you the necessary staff and equipment needed to have a consistent product on the field. Alcoa has all of this and it can be replicated with a dedicated coaching staff, booster club, and football loving town.
