I'm going to go against the grain on this thread and say that I appreciate officials. Everyone has seen a bad call or an even worse no-call in a game. Sometimes these can influence the outcome. It happens. Games have been decided as a result of bias, I'm sure. Those are the exception and not the rule. Most contests are called in a fair manner and most officials are good folk who are undertaking a thankless task. This is my belief. They must love the game to subject themselves to such scrutiny for little pay. Tennessee needs more of them. The least we can do is to trust that they are fair and that any mistakes are honest. The upside to my strategy is that more people would want to be officials if we were all on the "be cool to officials" page. When we have enough supply the quality of their work would increase due to competition for the job. I'm not now nor have I ever been an official. Thoughts?

Two proud and successful programs going at it Friday night. Both teams seem to be a notch below from where they were last year but that's the way it goes in small town football. Some years are just leaner than others. I like the fact we are playing someone different and will among other things prepare this Pirate team for the playoffs. There's no where I'd rather be on Friday night than at Beene Stadium watching the Pirates. Let's strap em up and leave everything out on the field. Go Pirates!!

Would the Spanish teacher in the county get away with talking to the kids this way? I hope not. Why do these high school coaches think they are different than the other employees at the school? They don’t want to talk to any parents or hear anything from the parents, but they think it’s OK to cuss the kids? Ridiculous. The coach might be a good guy, but he crossed way over the line. I just thought the hairtage program was on bottom before this happened…a new low.

School bored should make announcement by end of the day to suspend the guy for a game or two, give him fair warning (which should have been part of the hiring process) about it not happening again, and then protect the kid that yankee will be going after. We ain’t like Jersey…yet.

I'd love to see a side by side of Derek Hunt (or GQ back in the day) talking to his kids while being secretly recorded and compare it to this recording. Then we can side-by-side their win-loss records.

The most disturbing trend of this whole thread is how some think it's justified to arrest someone for cheering at a football game. Insane State of America.

College and NFL do not have 14 yr olds in their locker rooms. So that argument falls to the wayside.

Maybe it's an outdated idea but I still believe HS football at it's core is about developing the character of young men. Based on what I've seen on the sidelines and now seen on line, I question whether this is the type of person who can do that. Can you imagine a coach like GQ going off like this?

His parents and family are top notch people too. Happy to see another D1 wrestling commit from small school TN! I had him on my duals team this summer, but couldn't get him to switch schools! I definitely agree. Hackett is brilliant and leaves no room for second guessing, so it appears out of necessity, which means lack of experience. And 44 will bite you whether you get to close of not. So no leash rule applies. We probably dont have time to cover the offensive side of things. LOL

I was just coming here to post this: any games moved up after the contest begins will be removed from the contest. This has caused problems too many times over the years, especially for members who like to wait until Friday to pick Friday's games.

Will this game be closer to a classic or another mismatch for one of them? I think alco just had their first flag thrown on them!

Hey Edward you are correct. Hearing some real poor reports on how Bearden players are talked to and talked about. But those guys are looking to move up to college or get back into college for some of them. But if the parents picked these guys with the administration approval l guess they are getting what they payed for. Still doesn't make it a good thing.

100% all in fun. This whole site is and to talk about football. Don't let me rub you wrong. The Region is between you guys and Westmoreland this year. No One likes a winner all the time, so I'm ok with sharing some of the pie with fellow Region Foes. And if I wasn't fine with it, there is nothing I could really do about it. TC just isn't good this year. I have seen the talk about in 5-6 years the pee-wee teams will be dominant. That may very well be true, but you can't wait that many years when you have the tradition TC has. I also understand you can't turn a ... into a house-wife overnight either. It's a process, but TC will have to find a way to be competitive and not look 5 years down the road. I really don't know the answer to it. It's not like Hartsville is blinking for folks to move in, even though the population has seemed to double lately, but with mostly adults and very few kids (especially athletic kids).

I think Giles County has a beautiful stadium, maybe in the wrong location. This game has the potential to be a really good game and could somewhat predict FCs future since they are in the same region as Nolensville…I look forward to seeing the final score.

First off, Coach O was a little strong with the "F" bomb. However, he is from up north where they talk a little rougher. My biggest issue is with the person who videoed it and posted it. Agree or disagree, the locker room is a sacred place.

Not defending Coach O for his words of choice, but clearly you do not watch enough college or NFL. This happens more in the coaching world then down at the base of that mountain. I would adventure out and say this happens at the HS ranks as well. Hate to break the news, but this video is not going to make or break heritage recruiting better or worse. Players talk, parents talk. Those players and parents are already not playing at heritage nor will they ever want to. Also hate to see this go public because I was pulling for a Heritage win, but now I will have to reshuffle my hand. No one should speak high or less of Coach O. Maybe somebody spiked the Gator Aid bucket knowing Coach Joe would drink a lot of it. Maybe you should be more worried about how the far swinging LEFT has finally destroyed the minds of our kids instead of a guy that is trying to win a football game and drive his point through all the baloney that gets put into their heads that day at school. Your school your so worried about is the reason so many home school their kids and if they have the money they send them to private schools to get them away from that garbage. I would be more worried about our schools putting people out there to work that look at you like you have two heads if you were to hand them a dollar bill and needed four quarters.

my instinct is to believe this. cops bark out orders they have no business barking which are not constitutional or needed, they just feel it. when people don't fall in line you will see all kinds of evil. inarguable.

By the way, if this man had really swung at a cop why didn’t they arrest him? Logan went to Georgia to get mat time. Unless Logan is sick or hurt he will be at the super32 and he will be at 170. I will add he didn’t surrender a single point while going undefeated. He spent a total of 20 seconds in the bottom position the entire day.
