Leave it up to a Pirate mama to come on here Copper Basin week and set people straight. Anyone remember 2014 and the Cheeseburger fiasco? lol…It was Copper Basin week too. What is at the Basin boys that bring the mama’s out. Someone tell Stone to make sure to give the kids their cheeseburgers on Friday night even if we lose the game. One laugh for every year I’ve been laughing about that deal since it happened.

I’ve been reading these threads for years and rarely have I ever made a post. I usually let you men talk and carry on like you all say us women, skillet slingers or whatever do. Most of the time I remain quiet and let things work themselves out. I have a senior on this team who plays a big role in the success or failure of this team. He puts his all into this team with every down played. He was frustrated on Friday night. He threw his helmet Friday night. If you are talking about him and you think he did it because he got sent off the field, you’re mistaken. He was frustrated with some of his teammates for getting penalized. As he stated, they were up 28-7 at the time and just needed to let the scoreboard do the talking. Another thing he was dancing (celebrating ) on the sidelines when there was 2 minutes left to play. Should kids not be able to celebrate an accomplishment without being ridiculed by the the has beens? Now that’s been said, I don’t agree with the punches being thrown. They paid for that in practice yesterday. Let’s all let the coaches take care of the discipline. I think they will get their points across just fine.

I have always had the philosophy of I'm out there to score and the D's job is to stop me. 2's will get a lot of work in the 2nd half but don't act like they aren't scoring 40 and Greeneville is the only team that has put a ton of points up on them in the past. 2020 63 points and 2021 56 points not ring a bell for running up the score? Heck you put up 47 on them last year. (It's not a knock on Betsy either). You just can't be throwing stones from a glass house

Collinwood has traditionally always been the opposite of finesse. Maybe not that athletic at times, but almost always hard hitting. I guess the General is hitting the bottle again.

I found my way over here to check in on my Pirate peeps. I see that at least one of you is still as crazy, loud and flamboyant about his feelings as ever. Some things never change.. he is going to be heard lol. I am sure he means well though. Anyway I hope you guys have a great year. I miss those great SP and Boyd games from back in the day. Especially those from about 2000-2004. Good luck this week.. oh wait never mind. I see that you guys are playing one of our old region foes as well. Tough times it sounds like in the Copper Mines.

Geno Sp has a lot of areas for improvement. Yes we have a lot of talent at the skill positions but we are a long way away from saying no one in the east can handle us. Weren't you the very one screaming similar things in 2020? We all seen how that played out. Pirates need to focus one game at a time.

No it was a 15 yard penalty. It could've been taken as a punch but only a penalty. Franklin was very mouthy and continued to play well beyond the whistle once they got down 28-7. Refs were terrible ( nothing unusual in TN ) there were a lot of things that contributed to it. Not making excuses team should be disciplined regardless.

Too bad Dyersburg and/or East Nashville going to cut the chargers season short again! Alcoa would have blown that average all to pieces the last 4 years!

I don’t recall saying that you called any names. I do recall saying IF you were talking about my child. Apparently you know who my child is since you’re sure it wasn’t him you were speaking of. I can assure you my child didn’t get ejected. I also believe that I stated the I do not agree with the punches thrown but instead of handing out ridicule, we should let the coaches handle it. Everyone knows this is what has been going on. There are coaches on that staff that have leaked it out. They have told others that "it's gotten out of hand" and "they will be leaving after this year" because of it. There are photos circulating of kids leaving his house in the morning and going back to his house in the evening. There are photos circulating of Coach Flip Flops taking them to and from school... to and from workouts... all time stamped and dated. It's just a matter of time. If I'm him, I resign now. Just let everyone know this is it after this season I'm out. If he does that...he can avoid the embarrassment that is coming. And it IS coming.

I wasn’t talking about your Kid!! I won’t and don’t call names. But with 2 Games in and the punch’s still being thrown? I thought your kid got ejected and threw his helmet over the refs terrible play calling. That’s spunk and heart!! I was talking about punch’s , Dancing and just disrespect. I don’t get on here and just talk! I volunteer my time every year for the Tean. I just finished the stadium wall and painted the Turf on the sidelines. How could anyone find the punch’s thrown ok? Or make excuses? There is no excuse!! This is a GREAT Team and they should ACT like it. Maybe the best defense I’ve seen. And for sure the best passing game Spitt has ever had! Now act like it

Not yet...he is really still getting use to game speed...i mean only 2 games and all. But he has played for a couple quartes the last two weeks. But when he is in, he does well. Hope to see more of him to help keep Brody fresh.

You should really try not to suck. Peabody played adamsville and was in the region with adamsville sone years. Played and beat Milan every year for like the last 6 years except last year one of those years milan made it to state in 3a. Beat riverside in the semis. Scrimmages usj every year till this year and beat them except last year. I’m pretty sure liberty southside and obion are 4-3a schools. Peabody won all of their state championships in 2a being the smallest school in 2a. peabody is young this year probably the youngest in last 10 years. you insinuated they played no one truth is they did and what was scheduled was because of a bunch of schools turning them down those years

Yep a bunch of underclassman that are a talented bunch of kids. #1 is a freshman #2 sophomore running back #8 jr qb #11 freshman #14 junior wide receiver who is a talented kid #22 freshman linebacker running back who is a tough kid, would hate to see someone tackle this kid when he gets older.. #82 is a sophomore. Line ranges from 215-300 and 5’8 to 6’3. Should be a good game, hopefully sequatchie can pull it out, but Watertown has a good team and the Indians better come ready to play. They have a tough schedule with Bledsoe, Marion, south Pitt, Watertown, coalfield, Giles, Fayetteville. All teams who should make good runs in playoffs. Good luck to both teams Friday night

Realistically Bearden could easily be 2-0 right now with wins over both Alcoa and West, with a few bounces that went their way. Not to take any credit away from Alcoa and West, respectively, of course, for beating Bearden. Both were extremely nip and tuck and could’ve gone either way.

I've been out of coaching for awhile now but if I'm up 14-3 and Chapel Hill didn't have an answer for him when playing D, I wouldn't have let Franklin play one snap of offense in the second half. You didn't need any more points. If what you say is so, someone made a poor decision.

We don't have a ton of athletes but we have heart. Hope we see a good game on Friday.

People hate cheating.People hate watching kids being bused from all over to play and take spots from actually Clinton kids.You mentioned all the losing at Clinton so how would you explain kids coming from all over to play for a traditionally bad team.You can understand a few kids wanting to go play for big time programs or coaches but Clinton has neither.But somehow Clinton has acquired lots of players.Not to mention the toxic culture.Flipping birds in pics and putting on social media.The personal fouls and ejections and on and on.Clinton has done more than enough past couple of years to earn the rep they currently have

This has happened at a couple of Nashville Privates lately. New headmaster/president, fruit-basket turnover. There have been several Hall of Fame coaches in multiple sports change jobs lately simply because new leadership either does not understand the importance of athletics in D2 or their ego simply cannot handle a coach having EARNED more respect than the leader is GIVEN. Sometimes it is a combination of both.

Baxter is a town of like 500 people (Upperman has almost 900 students) and the surrounding area is very rural but Cookeville is 5 miles away and has a population of 35,000 and Putnam County has school choice. If you’re a big time athlete and the choice is go 5 miles to Upperman and play and beat up lowly country schools in 4A or play 6A football vs Gallatin and Mt Juliet which would you choose? Adding 5 to 10 talented kids every year makes a huge difference vs teams like Macon and Livingston. As you noted Upperman was barely competitive until school choice became available in Putnam County.

That is when things really turn the corner.... once you are all in... the level of play becomes more intense. More times than not you accomplish what you believe you can and nearly 100 percent of the time fail if you think you will.

Bearden would be 2-0 had they faced Austin East and Karns as well. Billy Blunt can't play 3A Alcoa but schedules another 3A school in AE. There's a reason the blount county schools are known as the cowards of the county. The powers that be in blount county aren't doing their football players any favors by shielding them from playing a little high school football team from their own county.

I think kids should be able to transfer and play with very few restrictions. If a kid goes to a camp and connects with that coach, and it's a benefit for the kid, let them play for that coach.

After watching some film I worry about MP speed getting to the outside. I don’t think they will be able to shutdown our running game. They are very well balanced on both sides of the ball. With that being said my score prediction is Waverly 83 Mount Pleasant 77
