  1. I'm glad I got to spend nine years down there with the best students in the world. They are just good, hard working country people. Those kids and that community deserved this big win.

  2. Upperman consistently had sub par seasons before Caine got here. It has much more to do with coaching than you think

  3. There is a lot great things going on with Huntingdon program the next few years you could be discussing. Going to be a good ride for Huntingdon and I would hate for you to miss it. With all due respect, how about you just let the Rebel posters take care of Rebel business. That is enough foolishness for one thread already. Thank You!

  4. I’m a South Pittsburg fan but just wanted you people in Riverside to know you not only have a great coach but more importantly a wonderful man and human being. I watched y’all’s game on tv and afterwards he gave a very classy speech about being so thankful and was so humble doing it. You guys deserved this championship and hope you really enjoy it and hopefully will be back soon for another because they get sweeter each time.

  5. I just can't pick my stangs to be the favorite to make it to state next year. Region champs? Sure, that is very possible, but until this coaching staff can show me that they can make the necessary adjustments when they are needed, I'm going to have to go with someone else. I would much rather eat my crow than to continue to look like a fool claiming us as the favorites every year just to underperform in the playoffs year after year. We had the horse's in the stable, but still couldn't get it done.

  6. They know man! After every first down someone from upperman was on the ground…smh

  7. Again congrats on beating us in that scrimmage. Maybe a shirt can be made in honor of that win now. By the way how did our QB look on his two td passes in the championship game? Or the fact our tailback rushed for over 1000 yards and 18 tds even with missing 2 and a half games on the year? Asking for a friend.

  8. Don’t get me wrong those teams were really good teams but to act like they were unbeatable or feared is a huge stretch. Heck in 2019 they lost to Gibbs and South Doyle and didn’t even win the conference championship.

  9. This is the best slate of title games I have seen in a while as far as being competitive! I really enjoyed most all of these games from Thursday through tonight, I wish they were like this every year!

  10. We knew going in we were the underdogs. PC had more athleticism and more speed across the board but these kids are gritty and we are not without talent. So it was a four quarter fight. By the way I’ve watched the replay of the 2 point conversion and it was good. But on the field it was called no good and the rest is history. No crying about it. The best team won. End of story.

  11. thank you sir. you're not too bad either for a Waverly fan. Salem is way smarter than me. i am a very basic fan. i do like to emphasize the feel for the game. salem knows the feel and the x and o stuff. coach eli had neither.

  12. Dont do this kinfolk. You make your team look bad as a grown man speaking out on a kids behalf when you or anyone else truly knows this kid’s situation. If this cat had came to play for your school you wouldn’t speak a word about it and honestly he didn’t make much of a difference in games I watched. The difference in the Silver or the Gold Ball Friday night was #8. I am just keeping it real

  13. Hey I get it.. Greenback had kids that moved there in 2017-2109 range and some of our village idiots were giving them you know what… They had 2 giant linemen with power 5 offers and Maryville’s QB. So I do understand the feeling…

  14. Agreed it’s only going to get worse at the big schools and the rich will get richer in the smaller schools.

  15. Did not know that...and also...the Red Bank RB who transferred this summer to Oakland!? and he got to play, you tell me what is going on with that! One of Red Banks best player with multiple big time offers transfers as a junior to Oakland! but the thing is, he got to play this season...and i am not hating on the kid for wanting to be at a better football school or whatever, i am just saying keep it fair with the rules that are in place. the poor kids who transferred to our small 1A school had to sit a full year because they moved and then where denied to play until 2024! if the TSSAA is going to do this to kids who only get one chance at high school sports, they need to be across the board with one rule!

  17. Hello everyone. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today. I really enjoyed last Friday's game. It was a little closer than I anticipated but I guess that happens when the best player is hurt. I hope everyone has a great holiday season. Remember Jesus is the reason for the season. I hope everyone has a great afternoon and Go Pirates!

  18. No doubt the kid played his tail off and the defensive line. Good luck to that young man at the next level. He is a heck of a player.

  19. A great day for Decatur County. Thanks to you for what you do for the program. Wished my Dad was around to see this. He watched me and my 2 brothers play for 10 years in the 70’s and 80’s for the Panthers and then he spent several years as the PA announcer. He saw the first playoff game in 1981 and many more after that. Go Panthers!

  21. We had two kids (brothers) transfer during the off season because they legitimately moved... however, the TSSAA did not allow them to play because they played football at the other school as freshman...they are not 5 star guys, heck they probably would not have even started but they still could not play so they both lost their sophomore years! I really think that sucks for the kids, because they cannot control where they move! but i highly doubt that Pitt is doing any illegal recruiting, they don't have too, people want to play for winning teams!

  22. I don't believe so either, I know because I was out there for 8+hours on the sideline lol. I was pumped to get some of the celebration shots I got. Upperman will be back, Caine is a great Coach, he knew he needed to try to break the rhythm of PC Offense. Check out the photos here https://615preps.com/2023/12/02/gallery-pearl-cohn-vs-upperman/

  23. Hats off to Houston, there's nobody that can say they aren't the best team in 6A after going through Germantown, Brentwood and Oakland like they did. People will call it an upset, but Houston was just better plain and simple. Nothing like seeing your team get their first title, I congratulate Coach Thomas and his players on a job well done as well as the Houston community. For Oakland's seniors, there is nothing to hang your head for. 4 year record of 56-4 with 3 gold balls and a silver is pretty amazing. This team faced adversity on their road to Chattanooga and had to win 3 road games to get there. I'm proud of what these seniors and this team accomplished. Alot of this Oakland team returns in 2024, interested to see their development in the months that follow

  24. Maybe try suspending a few school's athletic programs for a couple of years to get everyone's attention. Maybe look into "contributing to the delinquency" for some of the "handlers" and "agents". Possibly just enforce some rules.

  26. That would be an obvious choice. Perfect candidate would be a proven, experienced winner who turned around a small 1A/2A program and has head coaching experience. First two names that pop in my head are Frost and White. Both should have been contacted on Day 1. To do the administrators job and sell it to Frost: Just watching Riverside on Saturday, our 2024 team will be built exactly like Riverside. Our big back will also wear #25. Dual threat QB and 2 fast RBs could play WR and spell the big back when needed. O line will be in the 220-240 pound range. He could come back to middle TN and play Community and Moore County next year and make his own schedule when they reclassify. Defense will have speed all over the field and depth every where. An enthusiastic guy that knows what he's doing could have 18-25 guys per grade out. I've seen a few of your interviews with him and he never came across as quirky. He can jump into my arms after every playoff win.

  27. Yep, looks like the "handlers" and "agents" have taken control. Seems the metro areas have a huge advantage with this new style of assembling a team. I've lost a lot of my enthusiasm for the game because of this direction.

  29. Congrats Alcoa on a 9th straight title and another impressive win. Looking forward to another grudge match next year at Pistol Creek. Do you all lose a lot from this years team? I know my Rebels have a good bit to replace on both sides of the ball but we will be alright - Next man up right? Anyway Merry Christmas and Happy New Year BC and F5.

  33. Cf doesn't lose much but 27, 56 and 42 will be missed especially 27(Henry) our leading tackler. If they get there tails in the weight room this off season we shall be fine. We need to get a little stronger and bigger up front.

  35. I wish kids would stay and play for the schools they are supposed to but unfortunately thats not the World we live in today. These kids see college players change teams all the time now and unfortunately it's become part of the norm. I'm old fashioned. If you live in Clinton, you play for Clinton. If you live in Powell, you play for Powell etc etc etc. But times have changed and I guess it's here to stay.

  37. This is a free country. You have an opinion and there is nothing wrong with speaking your opinion. I’m a upperman fan and I speak mine. When you have a winning program kids want to play for a winner. So some kids just want to play for that program. Upperman coaches our not recruiting players. They want to play for a winning program. Upperman is losing some good players and next year we will just have to see. Macon is definitely going to be good next year. Who knows about the rest. Just have to wait and see. Upperman is returning a lot of there skill players.

  39. 2023 has came to an end and I ended up with record of 430-104 for a 80.5 percent. Last year I was 384-103 for 78.9 percent. That's not to bad if you think about it. Doing this every week without the aid of any newspapers or a Murphy Fair Book to even go by the past two years. I'll put my trophy up to look at all winter and work on crossing the 85 percent mark in 2024.

  40. It bothers me because it strikes at the heart of high school sports. What is happening makes it impossible for small county schools to compete. Upperman is dominating in every sport possible. The rest of the schools in the other 6/5 region/district teams are playing for 2nd place and just lucky to beat them in any thing. Look at the teams in this thread Macon loses 9 (5 Starters) Seniors Upperman 18 (9 Starters) Seniors Macon Returns 14 Jr’s including a Mr Football candidate Upperman 10 Jr’s 3 or 4 starters Which team should go 10-0 and which is staring 6-4 and barely making the playoffs next year? Logic says Macon should be better but it’s actually Upperman that will dominate the Region because they can reload their roster. Macon after next season will have 3 win seasons while Upperman will continue to compete for Championships. It’s not coaching that matters when you can just pick players off of other rosters. But I won’t post anything about this anymore

  41. Houston just pounded the poor Patriots up front. KC's latest running back recruits from DCA and Red Bank were smothered. Probably the funniest thing was is that the famous Creasy got outcoached by a guy wearing gym shorts. Congratulations to Houston.

  42. How do you even sleep at night? Apparently, you are consumed with thoughts of Upperman football. Almost every post you've made for WEEKS are about unfair advantages that Upperman is in a more populated county. Give it a rest dude!

  45. The Catholic Invitational and Beatdown in the Mountains. 2 individual tournaments that will have a big impact. Halls, Cleveland, Bradley, Soddy, Pigeon forge, Gibbs all expected to be at Heritage. The Catholic one has less firepower but a lot of really good kids if FR, Boyd Buchanan, BGA show up. A chance for them to mix it up with some of the public schools.

  48. Maybe if Lamar had put his subs in earlier the Cumberland coach would of done the same. Who leaves their starters in and continues to full court press vs the other teams freshmen? You can spin it anyway you want but that's a lack of character!
