  1. Today
  2. If that is the case they didn't waste any time. Their position opened after Chester and south gibson. Is Chester going to get a coach? It has been while for them.
  3. Yes, its definitely a time you will get to see everybody on the team get some reps while the coaches are trying to evaluate what they have. It gets intense even though it should not be about wins and losses, but parents and kids are naturally competitive.
  4. Thx to whoever oiled the squeaky wheels - and thx to OR for accommodating. Problem solved.
  5. You didn't spell Greeneville and Elizabethton correctly in your sentence. 4A has the best teams in Upper East TN. Carter County All-Stars and Greene County All-Stars is the Superbowl now.
  6. I expect Sevier County might be pretty good, perhaps Mo West as well. But I don't see either of them getting out of round 2. The rest of the region gets smoked in round 1. Except for those once-in-a-blue-moon anomaly years the NET big schools are pretty much the same every season.
  7. Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
  8. My opinion the 8 teams will be- Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
  9. A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
  10. Yesterday
  11. I was kind of surprised to read this. I thought the general concision was most programs are going back to natural grass. Personally, I have never liked turf. I see the arguments on both side for or against it. I just never liked them. Also, I did not know there as an impaction test that these fields had to pass. Good stuff OP
  12. I guess all the action in this thread from last year graduated.
  13. Tough situation. Not sure the ROI is there right now. Might be better options that are cheaper.
  14. Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
  15. Eubanks and the boys will be ready.
  16. Last week
  17. An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
  18. If an attorney sees enough merit in the case they will take it and only collect if their client wins. Happens in civil cases all the time.
  19. Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
  20. Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN. At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
  21. One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
  22. Why the satellite weigh-ins? I was told last year by a very high ranking TNUSA board member that because it was a qualifier for the national duals team along with finger pointing and strong rumors with regards to kids not actually making scratch weight all 2024 weigh-ins would be on site. It appears as if silence tells the entire story!
  23. One half of the region is set with Coalfield and Wartburg coming out of the District 3 side. It’s still looking like it will be Oakdale and Greenback from District 4. Should be a fun region tournament!
  24. Do you know where to find a District 14AAA Bracket?
  25. I caught the very end of practice today. Drove over to watch the Pirate baseball team defeat Whitwell 12-7 this evening. Keep working. Keep punching. Stay humble. Go Pirates!!
  26. Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
