  1. I wish you had visitor stands. Until then I will never leave your stadium wishing I had what y’all do. A fireworks show and empty trophy case.

  2. I'm just going to keep it 100, this is easily the worst Murphy team in 16 years talent wise. I hope given all the bluster and bravado in this thread from some that this is way below South Pitt's normal level because a standard Murphy team would absolutely drag the bunch I've saw tonight.

  4. Congrats to you guys on the win tonight. Line play was the difference and I had a feeling we would lose that battle. If we had been playing the last 15 years there would have been several good football games and probably a very good rivalry. Hope you guys have a safe trip back to NC and goodluck the rest of the season.

  5. I know it wasn't really South Pitt posters talking all that smack, so to you guys I say good game and good luck on the rest of your season. I wish these two could have played the last 15 years, probably some awesome games in there. As far as Basin goes they just need to thank their lucky stars that they don't play Murphy. Being totally honest they'd have about the same record as Andrews has against Murphy over the last 40 years (1 win) if they weren't too chickens#%! to play.

  6. Strongly disagree. While I agree the game was much closer than the final score indicated, you don't win by 4 scores getting outplayed...

  7. It’s Macon County. The closest they get to a gold ball in football is when they drive by our high school. This is their gold ball.

  8. Humility has never been anyone from Macon Counties strong suit. Then again like y’all said get ya while ya can! Unfortunately for you guys it’ll get worse before it gets better it seems.

  9. Y’all took us to the woodshed up front , plane and simple. USJ deserved to win and HC deserved to lose. Really great game plan.

  11. Let’s take off the Mavs colored glasses a little here. There are quite a few schools out there that have the same or better environment and definitely better winning tradition than AC (what have they ever won in football besides a region championship?). Show wise yes it’s definitely a show (sometimes in the favor of the visiting team) but I’m also not a flashy person who likes Fireworks

  15. That approach worked in basketball last year. DB played some really tough teams in tournaments during the season and it really made a difference come state tournament time. After the Buck Van Huss years every time I seen DB in the state tourney they looked shell shocked. This time around they looked right at home.

  16. Yeah. Farragut has been Oak Ridge's kryptonite at times. On a personal note, two of the guys whom I really respect in broadcasting, both of whom I consider mentors in the business will be broadcasting the game for different stations. David Clary for Oak Ridge, and Eric Gerhardt for Farragut. Both class acts and professionals in the booth

  17. This is No Way, Shape, or Form Blake's fault. Honestly, Creasy would struggle to win 3 or 4 games with this exact same team. There is a huge drop in talent from this year to last year's team. But we can't stand around and dwell on it. Conditioning, Weight Room Success, and Hard Practices is what makes a team tough. If you push a lot of athletes in today's society, they will just quit. That's the easy opt out mentality. Having a team start off with a low number to begin with and then even more quit when their backs are against the wall, simply can NOT be pinned on the coach. AND then a coach looks around and thinks, "maybe I should ease up a little so no one else quits!" Well then you are starring at an 0-3 team that needs to be pushed for better results, but if you do that you may only have 15 dressed out the next week. It's a slippery slope. Obviously the ones who have grudges against Blake and don't like him for personal reasons, will blame him. The ones that are on the outside looking in will be able to confirm and say, "Trousdale's talent isn't up to par and their numbers are extremely low this year!"

  18. I have no problem with new blood, but Maryville is what it is today because of all the “ Rebels for Life” over the last 50 years . Tradition and History goes a long way in sports. This game tonight is part of the tradition and history that have made Maryville and Alcoa 2 of the premier High school football powerhouses in the state of Tennessee. Without each team constantly pushing each other to higher levels of play neither Team would be what they are today. Looking forward to another episode of this Classic Rivalry tonight!

  19. Old Pirate says it is abundantly laughable how these mommies, daddies & players bring attention to their kids or themselves! NEWS FLASH, you look like what you are, individuals wanting attention. Ifin a player is bonafide, they don’t or won’t need the BS self promoting advertisement. Jasper continues to sink in the Self Promoted Pre-Season Hog Wash bout being contenders. History Repeats Itself round JJHS. Yep, Recon So.

  20. He was not born in Maryville, but was a student of the Maryville school system from 1st until he graduated. So you have to be a life long dyed in the wool from day 1 to be considered a Maryville kid? BTW ….. there are a couple of posters in this thread that haven’t a clue what they are talking about. Sometimes the information you get from the Hardee’s morning crew should be fact checked

  21. With your weak schedule your playing you don't want to see Springfield or Henry son! Beat Green Hill first and reclaim your county then we will talk...... Your in arguable the weakest region in 5A , Oakland use to whoop that tail and send you home every year 2018 - 2020 and now you get put in a weak region and cant even win it because of a school that's newer than your uniforms owning you. You don't want Springfield or Henry and honestly I don't see you guys ever making it far enough to get the chance. Go volunteer to help paint the field or work the concessions at JV games to help your program and be involved so you can stop trolling.

  22. People who do most of the talking are usually the ones who are trying to convince you that they know more than they do...just an observation, but to offer up a conspiracy theory blaming the "head man", only to find out that "he" is a lady...that's kind of hard to miss if you know squat.

  24. Agree! We have zero identity on offense. We got physically whipped 3 weeks. D will keep them in it for a while then they are drained. This game could have been 50 point game if DC would got #15 involved sooner and not have so many turnovers.

  27. I said it in my last post. Your better off at playing the Maupin kid at QB and grooming him for next year unless I'm missing something. Offensively they need to take some shots and quit being fun shy of throwing the ball 10 yards or less.

  30. 42-0 at the half. I know Crockett is down this year, but DB has looked exceptional in this game. Aside from a couple of mistakes by the defense looks like the whole team is hitting on all cylinders. That offensive line looks like a Mack Truck. Carson has looked very sharp. Had a couple of missed passes in that last series but I think they were pushing to hard to get one in the end zone. DB must have had a good week of practice.

  38. Did you watch the game? Central only TD was when they started with the ball in plus territory in the first quarter at home on a Thursday night...... LITERALLY nothing for them after that point. Wilson Central - 96 yards rushing - 20 yards passing 1 TD.... Jackets - 116 yards Rushing *Starting RB out - 218 yards passing. expected the Jackets to take a quarter to adjust to the wing T after seeing a pure air attack 6 nights ago. I honestly don't feel any different about the Jackets and please don't get on here ever again cross comparing opponents If you would like to do that Gallatin beat your bears 27-18 , those same green wave barely squeaked past WEST CREEK last Thursday night 19-7 ..... The same west creek team that lost 30-16 to Northeast yes the same northeast team Springfield beat 50-14

  43. Agree with all except Shelbyville, and FC. There's never a reason why Shelbyville should ever be down. Have you seen the kids over there? Those on and off the field? More talent than the surrounding areas with the exception of Lewisburg, and yet they fail to compete. FC should have more successful seasons than not, and they too have failed to utilize the athletes they do have. Tullahoma, and for the most part, Coffee Co. and Moore Co. do a good job with athletes that they do have, which are typically quite a bit fewer than Shelbyville and FC.

  44. Oh no sir! I think you may have misunderstood me. I’m a Marshall Alum and believe me I bleed blue and white. I could care less how many counties Tullahoma is recruiting kids from (LMAO), I just said “WOW” in my post that someone actually came out and said it. So, in short, I commend YOU for actually having the balls to say what REALLY is going on over there!!! I’m not on here to make enemies or really even piss anyone off!!! I just love high school football and enjoy talking shop like we do on here!!!

  45. Usually you have some good observations. But this time you are off. There is plenty of passion in us sweatervesters. Heck, you probably can't even name the three schools who really started that term. Come on over to Windy City Road and watch a first graders face light up when a varsity football player opens the kids care door and helps him out of the car. On any given Tuesday or Thursday night at an elementary or MS game you will see varsity players on the sidelines helping to coach up the younger ones. Those youngsters are taking every word in like it's gold. On a personal note, it is always a humbling experience for a cripple like myself to walk into the gym on any given night and a varsity player runs over to carry my broadcast bag to the upper level of our gym while his practice is going on. I'll add in having players offer to carry my bags to my car after a long night in the gym can give you tons of other examples as well. Do private schools have a corner on school pride or passion?. No they don't. But for you to infer that the publics are superior in this respect is just foolish. Lord help me. For two weeks in a row I have publicly agreed with someone from USJ. I might be getting a little ill. Somebody had better call a doctor.
