  1. After seeing cornersville style up close and personal two years in a row, I gotta say their recipe works. Getting hit in the face tends to slow some folks down. Cornersville finding their stride makes me excited for the playoffs. Even if it does mean we'll be making the trip all the way over there in November.

  2. If you really think about it our defense is second in the state. The defense didn’t give up those touchdowns

  3. I've been screaming that for last two days lol. Thanks for backing that up. If they show up and pull one off I'll be the first to eat my crow. Same old stuff very Weak schedule and they get beat in region games. I have no doubt they may be better but until they prove it I'm a doubter and expect riverside to mercy rule them

  4. Agreed. They WILL have a good soccer team from what I’ve been told.

  6. This is common knowledge in the football community already. I wish the young man a speedy recovery. He should be back 1st or 2 nd round of the playoffs. No need to worry, back up quarterback is just as good. Hope your coach heals too.

  8. Only 1 week before Maryville will, only because you won't be seeing any team worth 2 cents until Semis when you catch a Middle team. MJ will see big bad Oakland at some point in the postseason, then Maryville will be soon to follow. Last I remember, Maryviile got blanked, plain embarrased 38-0 in 2018. Couldn't even score a point in their most important game. MJ atleast made them Pats sweat till the final whistle, lost 14-7 and had to be stopped on a 4th down. Must be nice to sleepwalk to the semis every year! So tone down that cockiness just a notch, until you are the best team in Tennessee again. Cause as of now, you simply put, are not.

  9. Winning 16 State Championships tends to do that...and we are glad you live there too.

  10. So many big heads over there in Maryville. Glad I live here.

  11. I think we’ll get Germantown’s A game. I do think we pull this one out though. My uneducated guess will be 28-16 in favor of the Patriots.

  12. Fayetteville is finesse and speed Cornersville is smashmouth. Somehow, Community beat the Bulldogs at Frog Bottom, but C'ville is rollin since, minus the Eaglevlle result. I'm gonna go with the smashmouth team every time. This aint Mt Pleasant. C'Ville- 28 F'ville- 20

  14. Correct....The SOS has never been what I'd bet the bank on Strength of Schedule won't matter if your studs are in body bags at the end of the season

  15. Reckon he will still be the Coach. Sorta doubt he wanted it to start with. He'll do his best, good feller and He'll work hard at it. I've always liked ole Scott

  16. That's definitely the toughest two games on any 2A schedule.

  18. there is something to be said about not backing down from those challenges, kudos to you guys for that!

  19. Yes they will. Alot of the East scheduled better, harder teams anyway this year. The Upperman and Watertown game will be a dandy

  20. That’s what I was thinking. Now if we could just get them on the turf at the same time.

  23. Not a bad idea.....We should probably just transfer the fund's from the recruiting budget. We really appreciate your guidance in helping us continue our playoff run!

  24. Scores or previous games mean absolutely nothing when your playing your next opponent. With rivalry games most of the time you can throw out all records on any given Friday night. When the lights come on you never know who’s going to bring it. So the jury’s out on SG; I’d say that’s a great thing. This SG team & coaching staff knows that the only way their going to get the respect is to go out and take it. They still have some things they must clean up on both sides of the ball and special teams, and they will get it done. I had an opportunity to watch the CD game and SG did struggled some on defense, but it wasn’t because the team was not playing tough and physical; I think it was more of how the DC had them lined up and the scheme/game plan he was calling. I don’t claim to know all the X’s and O’s or jimmies and joes, but I would think you have to put the right guys in and put them in the right positions to make the plays needed and that goes for both sides of the ball. You gotta give credit to CD as well because they’d play extremely hard. At this point In the season if your undefeated your going to have a target on your back. CD had their eyes on that target and looked well prepared for the game, but they just didn’t have enough gas in the tank to stop SG, and you could tell that SG wasn’t going to be denied. I have had an opportunity to watch SG in person a few times and on film this season and you can see the fight in them. You can tell they are hungry and determined by their style of play. Their tough, physical and there’s no quit in them. A team that’s playing like that is dangerous and you better not overlook them. I saw that same fight and determination in the 2010/2011 Greeneville team that won back to back state championships. Again, SG still has some things they must clean up if they are going to compete with the likes of a Méigs or a Peabody, but I promise you they do have the guys/team that can do it this year if they put it all together when their time comes here in a couple of months. No one knows how it is going to play out, but that’s why the game is played and why we watch it. I know one thing is for sure and that is I’m looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. Good luck to all of your teams on an successful season and hope all stay injury free. Don’t blink your eyes on this SG team because I believe their going to surprise a lot of folks/doubters..

  28. If Cornersville wins Friday night what will the excuse be? "Richland took out our quarterback" maybe?

  29. This Powell team is similar to the 2011 Powell team that made it to Cookeville in that regard. That 2011 team was talented enough to be able to overcome it. Hopefully this team is able to deal with those penalties, too. Like I said, you just hope it doesn't come back to bite at the worst time.

  30. If everyone that was supposed to attend Baylor showed up and they are able to separate into different weight classes they are the best and it should not be close at the end of the season. As the old song says: Turn out the lights The party's over They say that all good things must end Call it tonight The party's over And tomorrow starts The same old thing again

  31. Talent wise, Blackman is neck and neck with Oakland. Unfortunately for Blackman, the 2 best coaches in the region coach at Oakland and maybe the best position coach as well Blackman is In a precarious position. They fired Shadowens over improprieties and push out Watson becauae he couldn't beat Oakland. They pretty much have to roll with who they have for better or worse because no HC worth his salt is going to take that job if the program is unstable

  32. WRONG!!! Then you guarantee him four years tenure with no recourse for actions during that term. The nine people who appoint (not elect) the Director of Schools are voted in by the public, so you DO still have a voice. They can also fire the DOS.

  34. This week should be redemption game. 44 is back this week as well as a few others. Not saying we win at gb at all but I would think our defense would be better with 44 and 32 back on the field. The replacements did well but it was definitely a trial by fire against gb. This week should be a better week for the bobcat.

  35. After seeing both teams play I’d give the Panthers the edge. I feel that BDP will have to score into the 30s to have a shot to win. Big game for both!

  36. That would be Finger Lakes Community College. He would have to be a part time student (less than 12 hours) and then workout with the Finger Lakes Wrestling Club which trains at Cornell. How many of the Tennessee wrestlers are returning NCAA Qualifiers?

  37. It doesn't take a school or coach to "turn in" a school. If you have knowledge of recruiting then by all means call the TSSAA office in Hermitage. Otherwise, your whining is getting really old.

  39. Good game! Happy my Bees roll out of there with a win! Game was much closer than I would have liked for too long. Really enjoyed our visit. You got a nice facility & great atmosphere. Good luck to your team! They play tough, hit hard & don’t quit. Respect.

  40. Well to one point I can understand him playing kids to get used to all four quarters, but on the other hand it gets to the point where it looks like he is just running up the score. Yeah, Elizabethton is one of the best programs in the area, won't deny it. Just keeping your starters in will result in one of two things. 1. What goes around comes around. 2. One of those starters gets hurt when he's up by 42 so now he looks like an idiot. Get your 35-42, after that call off the dogs. If young kids are in there and still throwing up numbers, well that's not on him.

  41. Waverly wins big. They are picking It up and getting better each week. Starting to find their identity and that's exactly what they had to do to continue their success

  42. I dont hate to say I told you so @vandyfan1 your Waverly Central Tigers are who I said they where hard nose physical team that would take time to gel but when they came together watch out !!!!! I seen alot of hard hitting linemen last year that was very young and I am old and old school defense wins championships and trench warfare is key !!! Imo throw out Wavos first 2 games, chalk em up to growing pains so to speak !!! The Tigers are now in my top 10 and a team to watch !!! This game I will go Waverly 42 Mcewen 14

  44. #8 is still sore of course but will be ready to go come Friday night! The QB is fine he will play Friday as well. Just havent heard about #5 Jayln Foster. The timetable was that he was supposed to come back week 3. We will see but if he does Dyer County can forget about it.

  45. If u knew football u wouldnt have made such a foolish statement! We are starting a freshman QB from Martin because he has more overall talent. Right now 2nd string at Martin doesnt mean you are a bad QB! They do have a big time QB that is getting looks from all the top colleges after all! So dont throw disrespect our way over that! I don't overlook anyone that is on our schedule! But it is hard to find respect in a team that cant stay within 33 points of us!
