Lmao... Why are folks on the Westview/Huntingdon thread bringing up the Huntingdon/Milan rivalry when both games are behind us. We won one and we lost one. End of story. The name calling and threats (on both sides) make a lot of you seem like Jr High kids trying to meet up for a brawl after school.. It's silly for grown folks to act and talk that way over something is trivial as high school football. Come on guys. Be better. I understand that we are passionate about our football and our teams. I am too. And I don't mind dishing out or receiving a little trash talk. But let's keep it relevant to the game on the field.

I went ahead and created this website to talk about our upcoming game vs the Royal Blue Panthers of Sale Creek. The Panthers were the highest scoring HS football team in the state Friday. This is a very important region game and if we let Sale Creek score 74 points like they did Friday night we may not win. I don't know where Roy is today. I saw him heading to the RedEye after the game riding an Emu he took from that Mays man. Also, Roy still has that Hollis mans horse. Thoughts?

Not Counce. I would say not anyone. I honestly hope Counce Jr. stays with us until he retires. Im hoping this be more of a wake up call. I personally think the world of what the Counce’s have done for Henry County. In the leaderships defense we lost several top players do to injury and disciplinary reasons. Some changes just need to be made. The same old same is just not getting it done.

It won't happen, too many kiss @sses around here. I like Coach Counce a lot but there is literally no change in our team this year. We aren't getting better as the season goes along. Somebody has to take responsibility. People all across the state are in shock by what's going on in Henry County, not just us Henry County fans. Its absolutely unacceptable. If nothing is done about it, we will quickly be just an average team, if not below average team year in and year out like it used to be before Coach Gaddis.

coach hodge passes the ball 24/7 . his wife says he yells " throw the ball" in his sleep! them ex qbs are all about wh stats. don't take it personal. when he was at bruceton as a qb, they wouldn't let him throw. it's a mental disorder now. we tried shock therapy, but it just made his nose glow red. poor red nosed dide

I know one kid specifically on the 2018 team that started all season long and helped us get to the State Championship game and he was a Junior at the time, guess what? The coaches sat him and started the backup who was a Senior.

Sam here. HC class of 2000. On this thread after the Paducah game I said these coaches have been exposed this year. You hit the nail right on the head about the talent to just win games. I really noticed a problem in the 2018 state game when we had plenty of talent but the play calls weren’t working at all and it seems like they just kept beating that same dead horse. Same thing happened when we lost to Dyer county in the playoffs. We had a great team. But they got wise to us running up the middle. What was our play calls? Up the middle 3rd down no gain. 4th down. Same thing up the middle. And the crowd is just losing their minds how we all see it and the ones paid to just keep crippling our kids with the same thing that just hasn’t worked. Nothing will change because there is some really good talent coming up. But we get exposed in the big games

The problem I had with the hire initially is the lack of staying at a place for a long period of time.

I'm a HC graduate and love following the Big Red football games but this is as bad as it gets for HC. I'm just going to say facts about what's going on and what everyone else is seeing. When we had Coach Gaddis, he didn't care what the last names were for the players and he played the best players to give his team the best chance to win. We have a major coaching problem and bad coaching decisions made Offensively. That team has way too much talent up and down the sidelines with most of it being on the sidelines. It shouldn't matter if you're a Freshman or a Senior but the best talent and players should be playing instead of having to wait for the Senior to leave and graduate. If I'm the Head Coach or the Offensive Coordinator, I'm putting all my playmakers on the field at the same time instead of a couple talented players with this group and another couple talented players with another group. Just bad coaching and bad decision making and it's time to do something differently because what is being done isn't working. I will say since 2016 the head coach has been blessed with great talent bailing him out producing winning seasons and now it's caught up with him and it seems that now they're having to coach and can't get the job done. The best in the game today is Nick Saban and we all know if his players aren't getting the job done, he will shake things up without being afraid of what the Boosters will say or think because it's about winning games for his program and his players. Pee Wee football coaches don't get paid to lose but middle school and above coaches get paid to do a job. The bottom line, it's time to make changes.

I would be all for that. although I know alcoa would win, the game against west would maybe give central a bit of hope to keep things interesting. central picked up the powell game last year, I don’t see why they wouldn’t this time around.

Before the season kicked off I heard a few people over in Johnson City saying this was to be the Hill Toppers "Best team ever". I think I remember reading where someone predicted they would lose to Maryville in regular season (check) but would come back to beat the Rebels in the playoffs. On paper It looks like they should be loaded. I don't know how many "great teams" they've had but they have had some pretty good teams. So that raised some eyebrows. We're 7 games into the season, when is this great team going to show up?

Well Dresden is pretty young and Huntingdon pretty much grows linemen on trees. Same reason Peabody was still considered the favorite coming into this season after losing 4 OL.

I'm hearing SP may not play this one.

If this happens I will be really surprised.

Trenton is hard to run the ball on. Running against Martin isn’t a cakewalk up the middle but Trenton has the personnel to match them on the ground

I saw that picture on Facebook. That doesn't concern me that much as I'm sure Gville got away with some holds as well. However, I think most will agree that you have to call that when it's that close to the play. The biggest call I had an issue with was the roughing the passer. I feel that wouldn't have been called 99% of the time. Either way though, you have to play so that a few calls don't cause you to lose. In talking to some folks, it seems that TC was up for this game more than they had been all year and their coaching staff did some things that hadn't been seen on film. Kudos to them and their players.

May I add that the Exxon Station just off the Hardin Valley exit has a very tasty affordable hot dog you make your own self for those who are running late just getting off work. Also they have deli sub sandwiches in the cooler made earlier that day you can purchase with your EBT Card.

A lot of the 5A threats from last year are now in 6A. So yeah, if you are just -pretty good-, you can win 5A this year.

Nope 6 seniors and only 4 Start. My Boss is not only from there but his kid is a Sophomore on the team. This is correct Nope you don't have a clue I can't attest to Huntingdon players grades I lost all connections to the team a few years back but that's still only 5 players if true. Their line play is usually pretty steady regardless Dresden is losing 6 seniors 1 lineman(plays both ways) a safety and a RB are the most significant. 1 other starts and one of the other 2 still plays JV games. Look, we get it. The “Upper Cumberland” hasn’t had much to brag about in the football department. That 2005 state championship by Livingston and, well, that’s it. You could throw in some pee wee and middle school “championships” I suppose. If a Covid loss for TC mends your damaged football psyche, I’m all for it. Put that banner on the scoreboard.

Devilman was mean to because every year it's the same song and story and it never happens. There is no love loss between AC and Greeneville especially after the sign that read "We don't play daddy ball around here" referring to Caine and Cade Ballard and someone from AC sending a Fax to Greeneville High stating "Enjoy your Thanksgiving at Home this year". You poked a bear there and had a running clock to start the 2nd half after beating up on no body during the regular season with both teams coming into that game at 12-0 Here is a little reminder

I'll admit that I'd rather see my team win but if they don't, I can accept it and congratulate the other team.Every fan base has good and bad folks representing their team . That's sports and I doubt it will ever change. Shoot, it's the same with anything that humans are involved with .

Boy that running back was FAST don't think I have ever seen anybody go like him. And agile you had to tackle him and then lay on him to get him on the ground. We sat between the Greeneville coaches Dad and two DB scouts, interesting night. The coaches Dad said everybody else had given up by the half and Oak Ridge didn't. He was impressed. Someone said you needed to act like you had done it before ... well 1 and 21 for them need a lesson in that. Both took what I would call "cheap shots". Oak Ridge ended up with 112 yards rushing on 36 attempts with 105 coming in the 2nd half. The 2nd half both teams kept chewing up the clock mainly running the ball and each found the endzone once. Cool stat for the Game Greeneville's Gudger passed Dustin Moore for third place in overall yards for a career. He will need to put up around 150 a game and Greeneville make a deep run to break the all time record held by Brigham Lyons. He had 194 yards rushing last night
