  2. Yes we did. The freshman is cold as ice. Kid went 12/19 for 104. Those numbers won’t jump off the page, but against a defense as good as Brentwood, you couldn’t ask him to be more calm, cool, and efficient. The defense is a force. I’m not sure I would trade our secondary for any in the state. That said, I’m still high off a big win, but I’m proud of these guys. That’s not the same team that went to Brownsville 3 weeks ago.

  4. You guys should press charges for what they did to y'all in your home. Your police report should read, you were out tailgating then afterwards everything was a blurr, when you regained concious there was a bunch of rebels stomping on a tornado, an there was over 10k witnesses.

  5. 21-14 westmoreland. The cobras are big and quick but not fundamentally sound. We need to cover kicks well amd be discipined on snap counts and penalties to beat them. Line needs to play smart football and take good angles blocking.

  9. Gonna be a good one, but one thing to remember, this game is only a measuring stick for both teams to determine where they are after week 4. No Region Championship on the line, no playoff implications. So let's hope for a clean, no injury game for both teams. If it ends 7-3 or 35-0, remember just a measuring stick to help you get better. GOOD LUCK FOLKS and may I WISH EVERYONE on both teams safe travel!

  10. Dearest Mother- I pen this letter to inform you your son, who is of sound mind and strong body, is doing quite well. But, most importantly, this is a warning to you, Poppa and all the inhabitants of the known Universe. Coach Victory and his Band of Pirates are prepared to take on Captain Fear Beard and his tribe of Purple Warriors. There's a huge problem though. Captain Victory's integrity has been called into question. The charges against him include having no integrity, being dishonorable, heartless and a dirty cheat. These charges stem from nothing more than a disease of Madness that has taken hold in parts of the land. And I can most assuredly tell you this Madness shall be met with the absolute Vengeance it deserves. The only way to escape this Great and Terrible Vengeance is to receive a mark of Orange or Black paint. Preferably both to be on the safe side. Not just any mark but a mark of the letter P. This P will represent Power and the P will shield you like a force field. So get some Orange and Black paint and get to painting! Mark Poppa's forehead. Mark your forehead too Mother. After that, mark everything around you that you love and care for! The house, barn, the crops, tress and the flowers. Gather up the farm animals and paint them also! Paint everything! Warn the neighbors. Warn all that you love and care for. Warn them It's Coming! Lo and Behold It's Coming!! After this turn the farm animals loose and let them wander where they may. You and Poppa take cover in your safe place till this Great and Terrible Vengeance has passed. Anything that is not marked shall be left with neither root nor branch. Tell Poppa not to worry and don't you fret Sweet Mother of mine for your youngest son, who is of sound mind and strong body, is already marked from head to toe! And I stand with my Captain. And Captain Victory himself shall lead this campaign. Love to All- Sgt Southtowner

  15. I can easily see West being a 20 point favorite against OR but Powell would be a 30 point fav. Then there is Central lurking out there and South-Doyle when they get their QB back. BUT, I have come to realize you know a lot about the football around here and you are likely correct. I NEED TO MAKE ONE THING CLEAR...I may think Oak Ridge will be an underwildcat to West and Powell, I expect the Wildcats to take both down. There is no way I am picking against these Wildcats. They have earned my respect these last two weeks. Happy one day late Birthday to Mitchell Gibbons. A victory over Farragut is a nice gift for you.

  18. Not just with a freshman QB man. An entire team effort that shows its ability once again to do what needs to be done to take care of each other. Thoroughly enjoyed tonight’s game.

  29. You're just mad Oak Ridge can't get Knoxville kids to play for that dumster fire called Oak Ridge. For years all of OR's best players came in from West Knoxville. Now with Harden Valley and Farragut playing well, the wildkittens will be the door mat of 5A . Better hope the enrollment drops some more , so the program can at least be Middle of the pack! Better hope they don't drop to far and land it 3A!!! If so, sissy fans like you might have to make up 13 more accounts and pretend to be an Oliver Springs fan!

  33. Alcoa got manhandled up front last night and they didn't have a prayer offensively. That's by far and away the most I've seen them get shoved around by an opposing team since I've been watching their football games dating back to 2004. if Maryville had done a couple of things differently that game could have easily been 38-3 instead of 17-3.

  34. Talk about losing a bunch of money on a bet!......If someone a day before the game would have said this game would be 3-3 starting the 4th qtr., I bet the house! I thought it would take around 28 to win it! Both defense's control the game. Alcoa left their defense on the field too much, due it part, IMO, the lack of a power running game. The offensive game plan tried to be too fancy and not just settle into a more traditional Rankin north and south power run game. Alcoa had the line size advantage, especially in the middle. Alcoa first drive was heavy QB draws up the center. Then they when away from it? Alcoa needed to have substained drives to keep the defense rested. Maryville did just that, long clock eating drives. By the 4th qtr, Alcoa's defense was gassed. Why no adjustments to the jumbo and rotating in a few offensive lineman was crazy. Especially on the two last 8 minute drives by Maryville in the 4th qtr? Alcoa schedule gets easier up til DB comes to Alcoa in week 10. Moving forward Alcoa needs more productivity from its offensive line and a power running game. The 3-4 defense needs to go away. Plenty of personal to go 4 hands in the dirt, and move #1 to DE. Go back to the things that have won this team 5 straight Championships.

  37. Yes and it is bad for fans who don't live in or near OR and for the older fans who have trouble getting around the Ship. Interesting note....On CoachT's Oak Ridge Football Schedule it shows BBBTV12 airing the West AT Oak Ridge game next week. I guess since there is a relationship between BBBTV12 and the Joe Gaddis Coach's Show they get to air an OR home game. BBTV12 is doing something I wouldn't think they would do. They are going to travel to Mt. Juliet and air that game. A long way to go for possibly a meaningless game. RWR! Beat the living snot out of Farragut. Okay, I take that back. RWR! Just win Cats, you got this!

  38. The idea is that if you want to see the game, you have to show up and buy a ticket. Makes sense to me. It's the same for any visiting team. They don't care if it's bush league, everybody hates us anyway. Lol

  39. Golddoctor you know I like to troll and mess with you Peabody cats but I am about to be 100% serious for a moment. This is the teacher/administrator in me coming out. Yes Alcoa is an open zone school system. So are Milan and Trenton schools along with 80%+ of school systems in TN. It has to do with school board policy. I believe y’all is board policy 6.204 attendance of non-resident students. Any time a school system has a policy that allows students that don’t live in the zone to attend they are considered open zone. Trenton has been for a long time. Heck when I was in high school 20+ years ago I dated a girl that lived in Gibson Wells and was technically zoned for Gibson Co but she went to PHS.

  40. That was a hard faught game. Great win for Maryville. Alcoa gets 4 TOs and can only muster 3 points on the night. That itself, has to be disappointing. To do this with your UT bound RB sidelined with turf toe, and finding this out at the 11th hour, is even more impressive. Good win Maryville. Good game Alcoa. Both teams have really good defenses.

  42. I like to make fun of Rankin always saying about 6 days before this game "Well, you know, we're only a 3A school, it's hard to compete with a 6A school" always building those excuses well before the game starts. However, it was ABSOLUTELY apparent during the last half of the 3rd and entire 4th quarter that Maryville just wore down the Alcoa team (many kids playing both ways). Big fight in Alcoa, they'll win the state easy. Good game to watch. Maryville tried to give it away!

  43. Good game between both teams. Just looks like Maryville may have worn down Alcoa. Otherwise two Great teams in action.!
