A new era is about to begin and I know the new staff will embrace the tradition here. The Administration is already working hard to assure that Oak Ridge remains a factor every year. I personally will miss working with Coach Gaddis as the head coach. Coach Gaddis loves Oak Ridge football more than just about anybody I have ever known including former players. I am so happy to see so much respect being paid to him all over social media. You can question any coach on their coaching but you can never question this man's love for Oak Ridge. As Principal Garfield Adams said, he's a legend.4 points

I remember someone was on a lift, off of school property, with binoculars last year still calling plays. At least that is what Murphy tweeted. That darn Murphy and his information!!!!!!!!!2 points

Commish, i don't think you have anything to apologize for. You are one of the most respected SPT posters on the T. You have always been very cordial with us HC posters over the years but as you know every fan base has their own fans that want to be the show or have the last word. I think we both have that type of fan on here.2 points

Anyone who thinks Haywood would be overconfident or anything but angry and with a chip on their shoulder doesn't know that staff, lol. They still feel like they have something to prove to South Gibson and will be highly motivated.2 points

Henry is a physical team but very slow, and looked even slower on that Munford grass last Friday night. I see the Jackets kicking it deep and making Henry drive the length of the field, seeing what they really have and not letting them start every drive at the 50 or better. Plenty of holes in that Henry secondary. Henry honestly looks slower as a team than they did earlier this season. 3rd Quarterfinals game for this very experienced senior class, think Henry will be surprised when they see this Springfield team at home in SPT playoff mode!2 points

Thanks for the confidence!! I wish yall the best against the Yellowjackets Friday night! I do believe Haywood can win this game however if the Tomcats go into this week of practice as well as the game unfocused and over confident, the Hornets will win! The hornets are too good to overlook, even a little bit!! I personally have a lot of respect for the Hornet program! Whoever wins this game better be ready for a BIG battle next week!! Both of those teams are extremely good!! Lets go Tomcats!!! Yall got this!! Hornets, if yall win Friday, I will be cheering for Yall the rest of the way!!!2 points

Agreed. Solid coach that has never gotten the credit he deserved. It’s his show now at York and I think you’ll see this program take off very soon!2 points

Great hire for HVA, he is a hard worker and really football smart. Good teacher too. He did a great job as defensive coordinator at Oak Ridge under Gaddis and he is ready to step up to a Head Coaching job. He will do a great job at Hardin Valley if the players get on board.2 points

In 2012 Gordonsville had superior players and athletes and it showed with a title.1 point

That 21 is generous. If they score 3 times it’s. 50/50 they miss at least 1 extra point.1 point

Whew Barn whatever you been drinking I need a shot of. No guarantee Miner even does anything at HVA. Being a successful coordinator doesn't mean you'll be a good HC. Rosser is a great coach, but there are a lot of great coaches in this state OR could hire with similar success1 point

If OR had AC Head Coach they would go to state every year. He would open it up spread the field utilize that talent and still have a great running program. Seriously there will always be talent at OR.1 point

Without reading the article,I would say Elizabethton has the best Chance.Maybe after reading it , I'd change my mind but yes we all know what Betsy has to do in order to accomplish that again.1 point

Still don't have a great read on this one. From the bit of film I've seen USJ looks to be a little bit bigger and more athletic up front, but DCA's line gets after it for sure. DCA has good speed and physicality. Some studs up front for both teams. The two things that give me pause are 1.) If Steele Haynes RB for USJ is full go and 2.) That NCS-JCS game. That was a two touchdown game into the fourth quarter which makes me wonder about the comparative level of play between regions this year. This USJ team has improved a lot over the course of the year, but they haven't had a competitive game in two months. They're going to have to make winning plays in crunch time on all sides of the ball to beat a team like DCA. Can they execute a two minute drill with a state championship appearance on the line? The two close games they've had this year (Goodpasture and Hardin) they've lost. Looking forward to this one as it looks like it should be a slugfest.1 point

1.) OR is not the kind of job you put feelers out, if they're interested they'll initiate contact 2.) I'll give that to you but your not gonna find someone from AL,GA,TX,MS that is going to take a reduction in pay to come here, unless they have family here like Blade does 3.) My point is that this state has plenty of great coaches that live here/ have lived here and are a better sounding board than cold calling a coach from another state just because he's successful when you have plenty that are successful here. Example: Oakland makes a change after the 2007 season. Having only won 15 games in the last 5 years, their principal was desperate to turn things around. Oakland has a conversation with Gary Rankin, who in turn suggest Thomas McDaniel, who Oakland then hires even only with 1 year experience as a HC at Moore County. McDaniel goes 14-1, winning a state championship and laid the building blocks for Oakland to become the juggernaut it is currently 4.) AD is a ceremonial position for most( if not all) public schools in this state, this isn't college or D-II1 point

I really hate to say it but Rhea has struggled all year on the defensive side of the ball. They have had some games where they have played some solid defense but they seem to always have stretches throughout each game where they have total breakdowns. The Karns game was by far the worst but when you compete against a player like Bishop it really highlights all your weaknesses. Karns wasn’t the best team Rhea has played but Bishop certainly was the best player they have faced. All that to say this- yes Rhea has issues on the defensive side of the ball but they aren’t as bad as they looked against Karns and I expect the Eagles to regroup and play better defense this week against Powell. GO EAGLES!!1 point

When I was teaching and coaching in Georgia years back we played Commerce High School, coached by Ray Lamb. His son Bobby ended up starring at Furman and I think played with George Quarles a year. Commerce ran the wing-t to perfection, we couldn't stop it for one main reason. Kids want to make the tackle, be in on the play, be the star. It is almost impossible to get high school kids to play assignment football for a whole game. They start looking for the ball (which deception is a key for the wing-t) and they forget they have an assignment. Rhea Co. runs the tightest, quickest, version of this offense I've ever seen. They will get their points. Question will be, will it be enough points?1 point

Yes I said what I said. It is fun and all but come Friday night, none of this will matter. 22 guys will take the field and fight it out for whom I see as the favorite to go win it all.1 point

He was a jerk at Hoover. Pretty bad at Valdosta. I forget how he did at the Georgia school between them but I guess it was good. OR would have to be in a deep hole to try Propst. Are we in that deep of a hole?1 point

Forrest's top 12 players, all of them, need to have their best most focused game of the year to pull this off. Juniors and seniors were on the 2019 team and should have PLENTY to play for. But stupid turnovers and penalties and garbage like that and you will get mercy ruled before halftime. 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 14, 15, 22, 60, 72, 77, 80 Micah McClendon was a freshman on that 2019 team. If yall ever came together for anything in yalls lives, this Friday is the time to do it. Do it for him. Hit harder run faster dont give up ever on any play. Take care of your bodies this week. No junk food or staying up late. Be ready for a 4 quarter war. Be ready for the weather to do anything. Be ready for any of the 12 of you to need to make a game winning play the last play of the game. These are great kids. I hope so hard they get it done.1 point

I have watched Lebanon plenty and while they are quick to the ball and aggressive, they really have not played a very offensive dominate team. This will be a good game due to coaching on the Blue devil sideline. If you look at level of competition played, Oakland is much better suited/prepare to run the table. They have faced very good QB's with both CPA and Lipscomb. Where as I don't believe Lebanon has faced a team nearly as balanced as Oakland. They will be as quick or quicker to the ball than Lebanon and they have enough weapons that they will chew you up if you key on any one single one of them . Lebanon is going to have to play great assignment football and match athlete for athlete which is why it is so hard. Most schools can't do both.1 point

No all of that makes sense. And you can only get so much out of one player. But as a fan side you have to always want better. And as a fan you typically have no idea of what coaching is about...lol. myself. But fans will always grip and want better and better. Parents is the other side they always want there kid to play so thats the political side. I get it I would never try coaching. Many teams can win if solid and a playmaker. Betsy had that QB. We have had that in Martin...etc.. But any fan and look at what OR coaching staff have went through on here. I am a cakewalk lol... meant no I'll harm towards Chadwell in fact I have had some good post on him and Jamie. But as a fan and armchair QB you have to blame it on the rain...lol Some take it too seriously I understand that too. Lol...myself..But going forward Mavs have a good team coming back and look forward to another great year.1 point
