  1. Nah, we're here. It's interesting reading this "Official" Maryville/Oakland thread that is about 90% Maryville fans arguing with Dobbins Bennett fans. The other 'Unofficial" Maryville at Oakland thread is 100% Maryville fans arguing with somebody from Alcoa. Meanwhile, us Oakland fans are enjoying our popcorn while you guys keep debating each other.

  2. Lol we don’t have to prove anything by winning state this year. Whatever happens it’s been a great year with 12 wins. Waverly is the one that has to prove themselves against the tide. Js

  3. I think both are even on defense, i honestly think it’ll come down to field position and who turns the ball over

  4. You know, I just thought of something. The fact that Stars would start a whole new thread sayin' I'm the best postur onn CoachT actually makes him the best postur onn CoachT. That I am 100% sure of.

  5. It sounds like DB made a great effort at Maryville last week by the score, I haven't seen any of the game, but it sounds like the Indians came to play and pushed the Rebels harder than any opponent of this season so far. Congratulations on a great season DB!!

  6. Please, for the sake of 92Dragon (a really good Clinton poster who I do like) tell me you’re joking. Opie is one of the biggest haters on this message board. OR lives rent free in his head 24/7.

  8. thanks for the props, but let me clarify--4 or 5 eligible transfers. Not really new since they've been on the sidelines all year long waiting their turn to contribute to the team's success. While I am very optimistic about being in Cookeville to play for the ball, we have a tough Lake County team to take care of first. We'd love to bring the Gold ball back to the West and Region 5 in 2020.

  11. I like our chances practice today was very intense. If we take care of the ball we should be okay. We are battle tested and have a lot of weapons. Defense has been playing great. GO TOMCATS!!!!!

  15. You play who you’re scheduled to play, period. What do you want us to do, pull out of the game and tell South Doyle we’re sorry for having more students at our school than you do, so I hope y’all can beat Henry County or Summitt in the championship!! Yay!!?? We were a 5A school playing against 6A competition in the playoffs back when Blade was @ OR, but we sucked it up and played anyway. Do you think y’all can win 2 next year-serious question?

  16. I drive a school bus as well for the ECS. I rode the charter last year to TTU. The charter driver says they can only drive 8 hours per day by state law. If they wanted to take school buses they could not as it would be nearly impossible to swap drivers after a day. Driving a charter is more efficient.

  17. To be a champion you have to beat a champion...Two great teams lining up Friday night like many of you said hope nobody gets hurt! Much respect for Peabody.

  23. I really hate hearing our fans get bashed for being proud of our facilites and our recent success, now Pride and his banter are prime targets,in our household at times as well, I guess if people knew Trenton instead of just mouthing off they would realize Trenton is a blue Collar diverse town where we all have our differences same as anywhere! On Friday night our kids from all walks of life get to wear the Black and Gold their cousins father's uncle's or grandfather's wear proudly! That night poor rich black white all God's children come together in pride and love . Trenton does put alot into all of our school extra curricular activities is soccer baseball soft ball volleyball and certainly football, this school system struggles daily but makes sure kids and community can be proud of the effort put forth for all students ! Mr Trollin I am sorry if you don't have that in Waverly and would hope you could be the change you seek to quote President Obama ! I know Peabody Pride and myself really enjoyed being in Waverly and y'all's fans was so nice to us ,I think maybe you feel slighted in some way or feel under appreciated as a program,I hope you find peace in yourself and GL to your Tigers any other game except this coming Friday Signed a Mother of 3 Golden Tide students

  24. Don't be so quick to blame the resentment on culture. Many people are taught that football is a team game and not an individual sport. Glory goes to the team. Avoid actions that draw attention to yourself. Show respect. Don't taunt the opponent. My coaches taught this. I'm a much bigger Barry Sanders fan than Michael Irvin. Don't play the heel role toward another sideline and then complain about the response you get. This goes for WWE or TSSAA.

  25. The game Friday night was one of the best I have ever seen in 1A. Everyone should be proud to have had the opportunity to be a part of such a contest. The crowd was fantastic. Both teams played hard and showed class. Congratulations to MC for a stellar year! I think they had the best passing offense I've seen in our Region since Fayetteville started playing varsity football. It's great to have good neighbors! I'm super happy the Tigers were able to advance against such a great team. It would be great if everyone would be kind to one another and Region 5 would throw some love our way. Go Tigers!!!

  26. Actually when the team watched the film yesterday it did not hit an OR player first. Also my grandson was on the field when it happened, about 3 feet away, and he said it hit a West player in the back on the back plate which caused the ball to go backwards. He told me that immediately after the game but wanted to watch the film first to make sure. The refs missed calls both ways, especially the thrown helmet was was obvious.

  29. I haven’t looked at I since the beginning of the year and we weren’t in it then. I know PC is a top 10 team in the Sonny Moore rankings and we are about 25. But those are last weeks rankings. They will be updated sometime today. They had PC a 8pt favorite based on last weeks rankings. Of course the CoachT rankings have Milan #1 and PC #3. Different team is a favorite based on which poll you look at. In my mind it’s two evenly matched teams about to go at it.

  30. Good thing for Waco he isn't a William Blount Poster. Those people at WB from what I hear through the grapevine have brought in the best experts known to man to find out who Shadroach is and have came up with nothing because he is two steps over their heads. Can you imagine grown men from a high school trying to catch a forum poster at all cost because he spills the beans on them every week.

  31. Over rated and over hyped. Last years Pee body team was loaded. Not so sure about this one. As for great coaching— 2 ref wins in the last 2 3rd round or they sit at home. Swiping ball out from center last year (illegal) and coach and extra player running on field without timeout granted (illegal). Now I’m not one to argue just state facts. “Just the facts”. That’s my old partner on the beat used to say.

  33. Whooaaa! I’ll say this any year and every year with the exception of 2007, we just don’t have the caliber of athletes to compete with Alcoa. Even Red Bank this year was most likely gonna be another loss if not for them giving us a COVID win. I believe we could compete in 2A but even struggle there when the Meigs, Trousdales, Hampton’s, Watertown’s, etc have great teams. I do believe however that we would have a great chance to make it to the semis in 3A but like I said every year would be ended by Alcoa.

  34. Does no good to talk trash. There is an excuse for everything on here when someone tries to point out the obvious. The obvious is this: This Peabody team is the weaker of the last 3 Peabody teams. Peabody’s schedule is weak. It’s not a guess, not just saying that, it’s fact. Out of 39 teams in 2A Peabody schedule ranks 37. The teams y’all played this year, let’s be honest, are mostly average to below average teams. Records of those teams show that regardless of them being 2A 3A or 4A. And let’s also be honest. McKenzie is a good team. Not great. They played with y’all the first game and should have beat y’all the second. You played Milan the first game of the year, and won, which proves nothing. No one had any scrimmages or much practice before season started. Look how much Milan grew. Milan would beat y’all 10 out of 10 times now. The truth is Peabody is a good team. Are they great? I don’t know. McKenzie was their only real test. The other truth is this... y’alls responses live off of... we didn’t play great, play calling was vanilla, penalties hurt us, oh hey we’re back to back state champs, we’re the Tide. Blah blah blah. That’s football. And until y’all win State this year none of that matters from 2019 2020. So just buckle up. Turn your fancy cameras on, record yalls fancy videos, brag about your 65 players who are split up to play one side of the ball like y’all are some small college, flash your gold balls, show off yalls facility, continue to boast and brag and make excuses... Waverly comes to town Friday. We don’t have Jack crap. Nothing cool. Nothing fancy. No nothing. Just a small town football team nobody believes in except the ones who are here... we are coming with blood in our eyes and hate in our hearts and we are coming to fight. We are going to square up toe to toe and punch Peabody square in the teeth for 4 quarters. We got nothing to lose but everything to gain! So with all that being said... just call it like it is. We both made it here. The best team on Friday will Win. Peabody may whip the dog crap out of us. I don’t know. But we are going to find out! I just remember 2018. Worried. Pit in my stomach. I new Peabody was legit. I knew we probably didn’t have a chance. This year... I’m not feeling that way. I’m confident. Truth is, I just need to stop talking on here. I spend too much time on here... lol. I’m just a die hard football alum who loves his Waverly Football and I couldn’t be more proud of this team and to be a Tiger! Good night all you yuppies! I’m going to bed.

  36. I know nothing about PC. Remember, I said the previous first. I am going with Milan completely in this contest. I know that PC has a great team but I have to go with what I have seen with my eyes. If PC beats Milan at Johnnie Hale stadium this coming Friday, they absolutely deserve to go to the championship game. Flame on Firebirds.... Just sharing my thoughts. Yall better pack a lunch when you roll into Gibson county...... The brand of football played here is the real deal.

  37. I'm going to go with Meigs County on this game. TC is darn good but Meigs County is even better. That Defense gets at least one turnover per game and that's going to be the difference maker in this one. Not a blowout win but a win to advance to State game. At the end of this one score, Meigs County 24 TC 19 .

  38. Dude literally no one has a clue what you are talking about with the off field activities this year, I won’t lie yeah I’m a homer, and as for the transfers Pickett did transfer from Lebanon, Hicks transferred from White county but his dad was a standout on one of TC state championship teams... you should know that if you from TC, and I wish we could play the same game H2O does, they have kids that aren’t “good enough” for MJ, Lebanon, Central etc, that they can get to come start for them, only school we have in county is Trousdale County High School

  39. I saw a video of one of our boys score a touchdown on the Moore County side. He walks over to hand the ball to the ref by the pylon. There are grown men standing on the track 20 feet away screaming at him like they are going to come out there and fight him. And for what? What did this kid do to these grown men that would make it acceptable for them to treat him that way? And you yourself called us the ghetto/hood tigers after the first game and then later deleted it. We are not perfect but I have personally heard unprovoked racist and horrible things said to and about our boys at multiple places. These classless acts were from people wearing baby blue. People don’t like that they dance when the music is playing or try to pump up the crowd. People don’t understand a culture that is different than theirs so they automatically try to tear it down. It’s unfortunate thing our boys have to deal with. I am proud of them for not responding to the “adults” on the other sidelines.

  43. It's too bad that one team had to lose, so congrats to SGC for a good season. Y'all did well this year. I suppose that Covington will not play y'all with the new classifications, unless we play a non-region game. i will definitely be pulling for Milan to win next week and represent 7-3A in Cookeville. I still think that 7-3A is the best Region in this classification, and the winner should be able to advance to play for the Gold Ball.

  46. Should be two really good games tonight. All four teams are extremely well coached. Both are repeats of games played very early in the season with MBA and BA each winning by 3 points. I have no idea who will win, but there will be some great football tonight! I know almost nothing about MUS this year other than the scores of their games. I've just historically seen how they always improve tremendously throughout the year. MBA is always fundamentally sound in every position. They just don't make mistakes. This will be a chess match between two great coaching staffs. McCallie/BA seems to be very evenly matched. Their game in early September was close and McCallie had a chance to win it in the final minute. I don't think McCallie will be as successful in slowing down BA's running game like they were in the first matchup. The BA QB had a lot of success throwing against their zone, so McCallie will likely change that up. It is really hard to beat a fairly equally matched team twice in a year. I think a lot of that is mental ("we beat them before, so we're better than them"). But, I'm going against conventional wisdom today and guessing that MBA and BA both win tight games.
