  1. Gold Ball envy. . They’ve never seen one and won’t anytime soon.

  2. Mcminn wins this because their D is very talented. Upfront they can handle CC. The secondary is very athletic and will have 3 picks. CC can score, but they really never stop people.

  3. We love facts in White County Fact: We are hosting a playoff game when we were winless just a few years ago Fact: Our running back has over 2,500 yards this season and our quarterback has over 1,000 on the ground and almost 1,000 in the air Fact: We are 8-2. We lost those 2 games by a total of 5 points. Fact: Our community is enjoying our team’s success Fact: Win or lose it has been a great season and we are all proud of our team.

  4. I figured Rhea county would be a lot better after seeing them vs Powell last year. Talented athletic QB Who played safety too i think. I’m guessing they lost some o-line and have had the injury bug.

  6. Here are the predicted results for these four games, both from Sonny-Moore power rankings and from the Massey Matchup tool. Moore. Massey Hamilton @ Covington - Covington by 52. 42 Millington @ Memphis East - Millington by 18. 14 Raleigh-Egypt @ Dyersburg - Dyersburg by 24. 28 Ripley @ Sheffield - Ripley by Tossup. 10 My personal feeling is that 7-3A will sweep these games, probably due to the much tougher schedule that 7-3A teams have faced within their own region.

  8. This is very true and TC defense has stymied the offense the last 5 years as well..... especially in the playoffs.

  9. See Region 6 4A champs Lexington. It was not close. You can’t dismiss it. Also the game at Huntington was 13-7 in the 4th qrt.

  10. Also, whoever wins this game is going to be staring at traveling to nolensville. If i were to pick which team stood a better shot at them. I’d say FC considering they were able to shut down their passing game by playing aggressive man coverage. Heck they were up 7-6 with 6 minutes left in the game. I just don’t think White County can has that outside athletes to stop Nolensville..

  11. No big deal. I would think you admitting you are wrong is a common thing. I would think I'm more of the anti-ghost. i didn't talk and showed up after the game. You talked before the game and didn't show up after the game. Reminds me of Ky fans, I shall call you Kittycat ghost.

  15. # 23 is a dog for SS. He runs the ball hard and is even better linebacker. He will gas though cause he plays every snap. Like to have a team full of him! Got a nose for the football!

  17. But back in that day the T$$AA wasn't about generating as much revenue to send to the Hermitage Bunker as is possible. It was actually about the teams and players who deserved to have an opportunity to play for championships.
    1 point
  18. Our current playoff model is the most profitable for T$$AA and requires the least amount of work. No late night seedings and groupings to worry with. Just plug and play into the same bracket they've used for twenty years and show up at the gate with your hand out. If some of the 4 seeds have TV crews then there's even more money for T$$AA to charge extra fees to broadcast to the parents and grandparents who can't get out but enjoy watching their team and their kids. We don't have to invent the wheel here, as mentioned, other states have better systems in place and have worked the kinks out for us. Just adopt what they do.

  20. let ole Booger simplefy this present day landscape, why this clusterchicken is what it is and how the pocketeerin board members and directorites have pile of hillary .....265 & 450 were initially sound common agreeable seperation numbers back pre-2017 plan makin when all the Pubs had had a belly full of the privates comin in a robbin them of their Gold Balls...and the brainstiens of T$$AA decided it was time to split because the 1.8 taxation number on Privates werent keepin the public whiners at bay... .....so if the common sense initial 2017 pre-classification 450 split number between D2-2 & D2-3 hadnt got raised to 530 at the famous deal cuttin session down at the annual T$$AA redneck riviera retreat at the Pink Pony Pub...it woulda intitially looked like this in 2017-21 cycle.... Class A 16 (0-265) Class AA 17 (266-450) Class AAA 14 (451 and greater) ......would have included CCS (458) Lipscomb (518) Knox Catholic (618) .......who should have included if they had not gotten to be the only private Football program to stay Public for 2 more years ....note that they won a Public Gold Ball the first year all the Privates had to split ......now lets not forget that the Presbyterians and the Haslam School of Knoxville both majically came in at came in at (449)......or the 3 Private classess woulda came in at 16, 15, 16.......Nice and Even .....but it instead ended up like this this...but the TSSAA still used the 450 cutoff as a number for all other sports exceopt for wrestlin 2017-2021 Cycle Class A 16 (0-265) Class AA 19 (266-530) Class AAA 11 (531 and greater) 2023-2025 Cycle Class A 17 (0-265) Class AA 24 (266-530) Class AAA 8 (531 and greater) ......if the original number of D2-2 cuttoff of 450 was still in place for the this new cycle it would look like 2023-2025 Cycle if 450 Class A 17 (0-265) Class AA 16 (266-450) Class AAA 16 (451 and greater) Pretty darn even set of classes Booger thinkin if they had just stayed away from the Pink Pony Pub Happy Hour and Karaoke Wet Flannel Shirt Contest Booger just sayin

  21. I hope the West fans turn out because that atmosphere against Maryville was electric...not saying this game is of that magnitude, but it was great to see the stands filled up on both sides and even in the endzone with overflow on the track. It should make the players even more fired up. Honestly this is the best student support Ive seen all year, even for the road games.

  22. Every playoff win is going to be a tougher game. I just believe 7 3A wins the 1st round game. Across the board they will be more sound usually.

  24. I might not have been clear enough...if so, I apologize. I was more addressing the "who has home field" question. Fayetteville hosts first two rounds. Round 1 is against South Fulton. Round 2 is against the winner of the Dresden/Eagleville game. Round 3 will be the winner of the Fayetteville/South Fulton/Dresden/Eagleville against whoever wins McKenzie/Wayne Co/Moore Co/McEwen games. Hope that helps.

  26. Love this, I think that Moody is doing a great job there. The one thing that he is doing that hasnt been done before is making people notice football. He is a good coach and a good fella too. I do think the one thing they should do is drop the McMinn Game. That would set them up for more success in the future, bc lots of people put all their hopes in that one game and when they do not win....a lot of people shut it down

  27. You are correct, I was wrong. He played two series and touched the ball 6 times. I think I quoted what someone else had said. If Malaki touches the ball 6 times then he usually has at least one touchdown. He probably shouldn’t have played but he was a competitor and wanted desperately to try.

  28. Not sure Sisk is done at Tullahoma after a season or 2. Apparently he doesn’t have the assistants in place coaching critical positions. . A couple of Olives kids are still on payroll with a job but aren’t doing much. Sisk NEEDS his OWN Staff that he SELECTED not leftover dead weight carrying the program down. The Sons need to go and let the HC interview and choose his coordinators and position coaches. If that happens I think he’ll be a successful long term hire.

  32. ST did move the ball against LC. They actually ran a similar play that Wayne Co used to beat Loretto. A quick dive out of the split back veer. If the d tackle was in a 3 tech they ran in A gap if he was in a 1 tech the hit B gap. By doing this they kept the ball away from LC. They ran 56 plays for 130 total yds and LC only ran 40 plays for 307. LC adjusted and ST had 21 rushes for 36 yds in the 2nd half. I look for this game to be very close.

  33. Best chance in 1A or 2A for a #4 seed to pull an upset is this game. Region 6 has two teams head and shoulders above everyone else in their region. Region 5 teams had more parity this year. Our 3 or 4 seeds could have beaten our 1 or 2 and even the non playoff teams had their moments against the top teams. Both region champs are clearly running 6A style offenses in 2A. Why is no one questioning if it's even fair to do this?

  37. I agree. It’s one game at a time with no cupcakes beyond the 2nd Round. I believe Witten has something going now and the Cyclones will play with a newfound intensity after a disappointing beginning to the season. IF they can continue to be effective on Offense their D is as good as anybody in 4A

  39. Fayetteville has home field first two rounds. third round: if Moore County beats McEwen and McKenzie, Moore Co will play at Fayetteville round 3. if McKenzie wins out, it'll be Fayetteville at McKenzie first two rounds always go to the higher seed. after that, it's based on where in the bracket the fall and if it's an even or odd year. "In the third round and semifinals in even-numbered years the bottom team in each bracket shall be the host team" if two teams from the same region meet in the 3rd round (moore co beats mckenzie), the game is played at the higher seed's field (fayetteville). https://tssaasports.com/event/bracket.cfm?id=20220101

  41. Rhea County will play like you would expect a 2-8 team to play. Comical that any team with that bad of a record could make the playoffs. Against Coffey County last week they didn't even compete. Even if Davis is back look for a running clock in this one. Yes, we have a VERY young team that has been plagued by injury's all year but we just have not played very well. Get through this game, pick yourselves up, knock the dust off, and regroup for next year. Also, get back to the Winged-T. It has been our best option against superior, more athletic teams teams for years. As always.............GO EAGLES!

  42. A "bad MV" is way better than anyone else in Region 1 or 2. Reading their thread from last night it seems they found their mojo again against Bradley Central. Made a few changes on both sides of the ball and now all of the sudden Maryville is Maryville again. Thats what good coaching staffs do.
