  4. TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
  5. stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental. i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
  6. Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. Word is Witten got caught trying to work him out on campus and some 7 on 7 while playing athletics for Sullivan East. Word got around pretty quick and Someone turned them into TSSAA.
  7. Quick update on Jacob - Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits. His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends. He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys). He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning. His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab. Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits. He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign. Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing. I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back. He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations. I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone. If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines. Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN 37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far. Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him. They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there. All that could not happen without you all. Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home. Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle. LOL

  9. Science Hill has had a lot of athletes over the years as well. I totally agree with you
  10. You do know that on a young, down season we only lost to Dyersburg in the playoffs by less than a touchdown?! You act like those two teams are unbeatable and way above our skill level
  11. Congrats! I’ll be your first. It’s kind of silly. I can see where it would help teams to have more 19 yr olds playing, Not so much for the kid. It’s a sum of the parts I guess. As a coach, I’d rather have 30 who redshirted.
  12. too busy with flag football

  14. who cares good luck to the kid. Hopefully he finds peace at MV.
  15. First year of 11 man football. That's a tough enough schedule for anyone. Looks like instead of easing themselves into this, they are jumping in head first.
  16. The Sheriff has agreed to provide help. Waiting on Mr Basketball…… @Sackmaster50 and @AlphaNiner are in the cupboard.
  17. Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!

  19. Thoughts on the new boys basketball coach at CCHS? His record looks below average, but I'm glad they went out of the county for a hire. A lot of successful coaches across town have been from out town so maybe that will get us on track.
  20. I am shocked that Benanti hasn't been back on here. Unless there is a new one I don't know about
  21. Siegel girls basketball hires Bryan Weakley as coach - Leaves Forrest Boys to return to Murfreesboro
  22. Congratulations to Coach Runyon. He seemed to do a good job when I watched his teams play. He didn't coach like he was ready to retire. With that being said... both coaching positions in the same district open... which one of these jobs is the best job and why? also, it is a coincidence that they both leave at the same time...

  24. Coach Lowery seems to have done a pretty good job at Gibson County. Imma say this is good hire. Not a lot of coaches would want to follow Coach Wilkins...
  25. Yeah a handful of wins for Clinton vs OR is 85 years, we can live with that. It is their Superbowl each year, and that alone pretty much tells one all they need to know about the two programs.
