This was a great atmosphere and awesome crowd for both sides. I've seen both teams several times through the years but never head to head. I'll definitely be back next year at The Skeeter as long as it's on Thursday and doesn't conflict with our rivalry game against Jasper. Good win Maryville.

At last, its time for my prediction for the game. Many have texted and asked what my opinion for this match up between The Mount Juliet "we are better than you but we are actually overrated every single year" Golden Cubbies vs the Gallatin "We have more tradition than you and we remind you about it every 5 minutes" Green Wavers or @thegreatone36 has referred to as The WingT08 Bowl. I am truly honored that you all would name this game in my honor. Now to the game....I expect a packed crowd for the game, which both sides will talk about for the next 5 years I'm sure. Gallatin is entering the game with a lot of new found confidence while MJ is not. I think Gallatin continues their strong start under their new HC and wins the football game 27-22. MJ just like the TN Vols, continues their slide into the pit of misery. Dilly Dilly!

I'm just looking forward to 70° degree kickoffs when they come.

Old Pirate says the Pirates better take the Warriors seriously. The Pirates are heavy favorites in most circles, however sloppy play, penalties and turnovers can even the playing field. If the Pirates are going to be a serious challenger for gold, they must have consistent effort & play!

Yep , Oline played Great , along with our Defense ! I saw a lot of Heart on that Defense tonight , Loved it .... and Parker Mcgill too ... one tough Kid ! Cade Chambers had a rocky start and it did look like he was a little nervous in the first half , but he pulled it together and put in a gritty , tough second half and I'm very proud of him for finishing strong !

Congrats to Maryville on a dominating win.....IMO, the Defense and the O-line both deserve a game ball, those two units have improved so much since the Catholic scrimmage. Very tough, gritty performances from #9 and #24.

I agree on both teams coming out healthy Swarm. I'm hoping we come out playing hard right out of the gate or it'll be a long night for us!

It will be there. It will be the Rivalry Thursday Game video but for the online part they partner with Diamond Clear Media. They need to have it show upcoming or scheduled for 7:00 PM. Also, since Alcoa is a DCM school, their school link should have it too. It doesn't though. They need to fix that.

Classy. Nobody cares if they expressed frustration about a friggin poll, other than you. If they got to play in a title game one county over, they'd pack in the stadium too. You can be proud of your program without being an idiot about it. I've had plenty of dealings with Maryville folk, they aren't entitled. Act like you've been there before. Watched 2 games of film on gallatin. These guys are foreal! #8 on D &#6 on O run around and hit like there hair is on fire. This will be a good one but i think MJ will be surprised with Gallatin!

Got in the red zone twice against Sweetwater. 2 fumbles. Snap infraction on a 4th and inches down 7-2 in the 4th quarter and driving. Got in the red zone 5 times against Tellico and came away with only 14 points. You're right. They have got to quit beating Central and trying to beat the opponent.

Well since Chad Withrow runs that site, it does not surprise me. He is a huge Mt Juliet homer. If it gets Titans game of the week then it has really shown more outside interest.

Shelbyville played a close game with Page which from what I hear, Page is pretty tough this year. It should be a great game and will probably come down to who can hang on to the football.

At this early point in the season, each conference game will be for the conference championship. Having just one bad game against anyone in region 1 2A could easily be detrimental in the standings. We are that close right now. I’d love to be able to say one of us is the favorite, but it looks like it may boil down to who improves the fastest and continues to grow. We are all beatable but all very capable of upsetting the others as well.

I'm saying if they don't turn it over they very much can beat Watertown. Watertown is legit no doubt but don't think for one 2nd Dekalb can't walk in there and win. If there QB just plays like he did last week this game could come down to who has the ball last. There Defensive line swallowed up Stone memorial last week something no one expected unless you were at the Jamboree. With there line and there Skill players they match up really well with H2O. I'm looking forward to this game very much.

Just wanted to tip a hat at the teams that were underdogs and somehow managed to pull out a victory. For me this is The Tellico Plains Bears. They beat Sequoyah yesterday in the first game of the season with both teams having a new head coach. Tellico had a decent offensive showing in the Jamboree as well against Loudon scoring on the first drive. It's been a long time since I've seen them look good. And I think it's been since 2009 since they beat Sequoyah. They may not ever see this but a congratulations are in order to the new coach and the team. 2A Tellico 28 4A Sequoyah 0

I first posted on a CoachT Message Board back in the 1990s when it was dedicated to the recent Class AAA Girls Basketball Champions Lawrence County team. They had just beat my favorite school OAK RIDGE. CoachT evolved over the years into a site for LCHS District, Girls AAU Basketball then what we know and love of CoachT.com today. I think as the site grew a guy from Oliver Springs played a big role in helping CoachT go where no high school message board had gone before. It is weird this tread about old time posters appread when it did. I decided to stop posting about a month ago after over 20 + years because I was posting too much after drinking and was afraid I was making Oak Ridge look bad. I have been happy not posting but I HAVE to check the Boards four or five times a day. I just love all the information CoachT posters provide. You all are really just people who love high school sports and are not afraid to show it. I admire you all. Oak Ridge has had it share of trouble makers on our threads. Some have hated a certain OR coachs, some were fathers who tought their sons were done wrong and some where NOT Oak Ridge fans but pretended to be and constantly changed their user name. The one poster that I hated the most was a guy back in the early 2000s that claimed to be a Jefferson County fan and posted about Oak Ridge. I think he came back later as a Farragut fan. He was scum. The thing I will take from my time on CoachT is how I have been changed by the people here. I used to HATE Clinton and Maryville fans but now respect their opinions. I still hate FarragutLESS though lol. For those few people on CoachT who even knew I posted on here for many years, this is a fitting final post. IT IS LONG AND RAMBLES.
