  1. Nah, we're here. It's interesting reading this "Official" Maryville/Oakland thread that is about 90% Maryville fans arguing with Dobbins Bennett fans. The other 'Unofficial" Maryville at Oakland thread is 100% Maryville fans arguing with somebody from Alcoa. Meanwhile, us Oakland fans are enjoying our popcorn while you guys keep debating each other.

  2. Lol we don’t have to prove anything by winning state this year. Whatever happens it’s been a great year with 12 wins. Waverly is the one that has to prove themselves against the tide. Js

  3. I think both are even on defense, i honestly think it’ll come down to field position and who turns the ball over

  4. You know, I just thought of something. The fact that Stars would start a whole new thread sayin' I'm the best postur onn CoachT actually makes him the best postur onn CoachT. That I am 100% sure of.

  5. It sounds like DB made a great effort at Maryville last week by the score, I haven't seen any of the game, but it sounds like the Indians came to play and pushed the Rebels harder than any opponent of this season so far. Congratulations on a great season DB!!

  6. Please, for the sake of 92Dragon (a really good Clinton poster who I do like) tell me you’re joking. Opie is one of the biggest haters on this message board. OR lives rent free in his head 24/7.

  7. thanks for the props, but let me clarify--4 or 5 eligible transfers. Not really new since they've been on the sidelines all year long waiting their turn to contribute to the team's success. While I am very optimistic about being in Cookeville to play for the ball, we have a tough Lake County team to take care of first. We'd love to bring the Gold ball back to the West and Region 5 in 2020.

  11. I like our chances practice today was very intense. If we take care of the ball we should be okay. We are battle tested and have a lot of weapons. Defense has been playing great. GO TOMCATS!!!!!

  13. Oh I've seen Meigs and know they are loaded with lots of options. Very Very Good ball team. TC has their hands full for sure...BUT TC has a few options as well. Rankins is the stud and since Watertown couldn't stop him, they got a heavy dose. I'm glad we didn't have to pull out that "Beth Dutton Special" Spread Em Wide Formation!

  15. I think one or two posters from another planet are just arguing with anyone who will argue on any thread and about anything. Personally,I believe this matchup is the one most fans have been looking forward to since before C19. I've always pulled for Maryville when they go to the semi's or finals.Call it an east Tennessee Homer I guess. That said,I appreciate the quality of football that Oakland seems to play every year and enjoy watching the game as it should be played. Both your teams bring a source of pride to watch as a Tennessee boy that played the game many years ago.Best of luck to both with all the boys coming out safe .

  16. You play who you’re scheduled to play, period. What do you want us to do, pull out of the game and tell South Doyle we’re sorry for having more students at our school than you do, so I hope y’all can beat Henry County or Summitt in the championship!! Yay!!?? We were a 5A school playing against 6A competition in the playoffs back when Blade was @ OR, but we sucked it up and played anyway. Do you think y’all can win 2 next year-serious question?

  17. I drive a school bus as well for the ECS. I rode the charter last year to TTU. The charter driver says they can only drive 8 hours per day by state law. If they wanted to take school buses they could not as it would be nearly impossible to swap drivers after a day. Driving a charter is more efficient.

  24. Lexington is by far the favorite in this game, Haywood was written off since starting 0-2 with losses HC and Covington. They have something to prove. I’m excited to see the match up. Both teams are physically strong, i like our defensively to us there quickness along with their size in this match up

  25. I really hate hearing our fans get bashed for being proud of our facilites and our recent success, now Pride and his banter are prime targets,in our household at times as well, I guess if people knew Trenton instead of just mouthing off they would realize Trenton is a blue Collar diverse town where we all have our differences same as anywhere! On Friday night our kids from all walks of life get to wear the Black and Gold their cousins father's uncle's or grandfather's wear proudly! That night poor rich black white all God's children come together in pride and love . Trenton does put alot into all of our school extra curricular activities is soccer baseball soft ball volleyball and certainly football, this school system struggles daily but makes sure kids and community can be proud of the effort put forth for all students ! Mr Trollin I am sorry if you don't have that in Waverly and would hope you could be the change you seek to quote President Obama ! I know Peabody Pride and myself really enjoyed being in Waverly and y'all's fans was so nice to us ,I think maybe you feel slighted in some way or feel under appreciated as a program,I hope you find peace in yourself and GL to your Tigers any other game except this coming Friday Signed a Mother of 3 Golden Tide students

  26. Don't be so quick to blame the resentment on culture. Many people are taught that football is a team game and not an individual sport. Glory goes to the team. Avoid actions that draw attention to yourself. Show respect. Don't taunt the opponent. My coaches taught this. I'm a much bigger Barry Sanders fan than Michael Irvin. Don't play the heel role toward another sideline and then complain about the response you get. This goes for WWE or TSSAA.

  28. I haven’t looked at I since the beginning of the year and we weren’t in it then. I know PC is a top 10 team in the Sonny Moore rankings and we are about 25. But those are last weeks rankings. They will be updated sometime today. They had PC a 8pt favorite based on last weeks rankings. Of course the CoachT rankings have Milan #1 and PC #3. Different team is a favorite based on which poll you look at. In my mind it’s two evenly matched teams about to go at it.

  29. Good thing for Waco he isn't a William Blount Poster. Those people at WB from what I hear through the grapevine have brought in the best experts known to man to find out who Shadroach is and have came up with nothing because he is two steps over their heads. Can you imagine grown men from a high school trying to catch a forum poster at all cost because he spills the beans on them every week.

  30. Whooaaa! I’ll say this any year and every year with the exception of 2007, we just don’t have the caliber of athletes to compete with Alcoa. Even Red Bank this year was most likely gonna be another loss if not for them giving us a COVID win. I believe we could compete in 2A but even struggle there when the Meigs, Trousdales, Hampton’s, Watertown’s, etc have great teams. I do believe however that we would have a great chance to make it to the semis in 3A but like I said every year would be ended by Alcoa.

  32. I know nothing about PC. Remember, I said the previous first. I am going with Milan completely in this contest. I know that PC has a great team but I have to go with what I have seen with my eyes. If PC beats Milan at Johnnie Hale stadium this coming Friday, they absolutely deserve to go to the championship game. Flame on Firebirds.... Just sharing my thoughts. Yall better pack a lunch when you roll into Gibson county...... The brand of football played here is the real deal.

  35. I'm going to go with Meigs County on this game. TC is darn good but Meigs County is even better. That Defense gets at least one turnover per game and that's going to be the difference maker in this one. Not a blowout win but a win to advance to State game. At the end of this one score, Meigs County 24 TC 19 .

  37. I' wouldn't make a good coach. I'd just walk back and forth poking with a sharp stick looking for a reaction. Some are easier to get to jump than others.....

  38. Dude you really need to let it go. He ain't going anywhere unless he wants to. If you don't like him coaching your boy then do what all the other crybabies do. Move. He wins. A lot. Considering the talent level there he gets the most out of them. They just don't have the jimmys and Joes to play with a team like Peabody. I know you think your kid is the greatest but the bottom line is Lewis Co. just doesn't have overly athletic kids compared to others. They are tough hard nosed kids but it will only take you so far. Getting on a message board and whining like you do is a waste of finger dexterity. Nobody on here has anything to do with changing your coach.

  41. It's too bad that one team had to lose, so congrats to SGC for a good season. Y'all did well this year. I suppose that Covington will not play y'all with the new classifications, unless we play a non-region game. i will definitely be pulling for Milan to win next week and represent 7-3A in Cookeville. I still think that 7-3A is the best Region in this classification, and the winner should be able to advance to play for the Gold Ball.

  44. Should be two really good games tonight. All four teams are extremely well coached. Both are repeats of games played very early in the season with MBA and BA each winning by 3 points. I have no idea who will win, but there will be some great football tonight! I know almost nothing about MUS this year other than the scores of their games. I've just historically seen how they always improve tremendously throughout the year. MBA is always fundamentally sound in every position. They just don't make mistakes. This will be a chess match between two great coaching staffs. McCallie/BA seems to be very evenly matched. Their game in early September was close and McCallie had a chance to win it in the final minute. I don't think McCallie will be as successful in slowing down BA's running game like they were in the first matchup. The BA QB had a lot of success throwing against their zone, so McCallie will likely change that up. It is really hard to beat a fairly equally matched team twice in a year. I think a lot of that is mental ("we beat them before, so we're better than them"). But, I'm going against conventional wisdom today and guessing that MBA and BA both win tight games.

  45. Nothing sneaky. I just appreciate a man who supports his team that hard. Actually admire it. I support 2 teams hard, graduated and wrestled for Johnson City Science Hill 1972 and Greeneville High School a program that I started in 1978.
