I’m hoping the Pirates have a great game this week. I think they will be ready to go. If they learn to limit penalties and clean up some stuff they could have won that game last week against a solid team. By the way who is Kavin Pryor? I’m pretty good remembering the good players through the years. Been posting here on and off for over 20 years. I’ve never heard of that name. Wasn’t 2013 the Lankford and Mitchell combo? Those two were ball players I loved to watch play.

With three schools to choose from, our enrollment numbers are around 340-350 I think. Doesn't matter the population of Fayetteville itself.

I don't follow H2O much, other than being an area team, and I know some of the coaches. SO, as an outsider looking in, how can you say H2O has had 1 losing season in the past 11 years, then go straight to "the whole staff should be fired" in an attempt to sound like you know football?

Have times changed so much the kids dictate what the coaches do on offense and defense? When I played whatever the coaches said we did. Didn't go home and talk about it to our families. If we did our parents backed the coaches. Shows how soft the world is and parents are? You really think coaches do stuff to put the kids in a bad situation? Who cares the Brayden Cousino hated the offense. It was his job to run the offense to the best of his ability and he didn't. He was better as a sophomore than any other year.

Since you are the Bear Bryant of CoachT what would you do with this Watertown team? What would you change on Offense and Defense? I have only seen WHS play once this year in their opener, but I could see from the start they did not have the players that they have had. Is that the coaches fault? Also, your football IQ really shows every time you mention the offense because I am pretty sure WHS is running the same offense from last year. Which I am assuming you had no problem with last year considering they won the region and made it to the quarterfinal game again. This years City team is way more disciplined than a year go the talent has been there for a while and they are senior led now. Biggest difference out side of being humbled last year and lack of discipline is the offense can finally move the ball with a more efficient QB than the kid a year ago..they aren't one dimensional now. Still wont be a walk in the park vs Mckenzie because they have a lot of motivation and returning guys as well that game will be epic. The last team you want to see come to your home field will be this City team.

Gallatin fan here… My honest opinion is that this coaching staff is in over their heads. There is enough raw talent walking the halls of that school to make it to the quarterfinals every single year. Watson got away from the option toward the end of last year, and ran more I-form. Won a couple games because of it in my opinion. Then they come back and do the same darn thing this year with that dumb flexbone stuff. It doesn’t work at this level. I don’t know if it’s his ego, incompetence, or a mixture of both…. But by George, these coaches are determined to play the most boring style of football imaginable. A lot of the kids hate the offense, with good reason. Station Camp didn’t have near the talent of Gallatin last week, but they beat them anyway. Doing exactly what Gallatin does - run, run, and run some more. The difference is that Station Camp has a coach that seems to have a grasp on how to run a football program. I think Gallatin finishes out losing to Hendersonville, Beech, and Lebanon. We will make the playoffs, and the powers-that-be will say “Look! A successful season!” The fan base will grumble and moan…. Watson will make a couple staff changes. There will be promises of what’s to come, and hope will spring eternal with transfers that have the potential to change the program. We will hold our own against some powerhouse in a preseason scrimmage. We will then proceed to go 6-4. Wash, rinse, repeat. This is the current state of Gallatin Football.

Not all of us. I call it like I see it. I remember Stanton Martin, a dual threat qb, getting his knee blown up at GV and the crowd cheering it. That happened. But, injuries are part of the game. AC coaches play tight against GV and I think the players react to that. Until AC beats GV and wins it all they wont get the monkey off the back. Many of our fans on here are delusional, arrogant or both. IMO the admin and some of the fans at AC are TOO invested. They forget its supposed to be about the kids. What lessons are we teaching them? It's OK for football players to be treated differently, especially if they are really good? I promise you the other kids at the school see it. What does it say about these fans that are ok with that? To me its no different than the GV fans (it wasn't all of them but it wasn't just a few) that cheered when our guy got hurt. If that's the way you want to win, what good is it? I want us to beat GV with them at their best. Could this be the year, IDK, maybe. This isn't the best team either one have had in recent years but they're both still decent. MIF is the exception. It takes a while to figure out his attitude towards stuff but he isn't mean about it, just in good fun. Some of our other fans are just insecure AHs.

No one said thats its not hard to overcome getting points put on you quickly (Your Mavs did in Ballards Junior year but Greeneville overcame that and beat the Mavs). Championship teams every year have to overcome adversity so stop trying to make it sound like it's a "this year thing". Listen Mavsinflight i know AC has a good team they have had good teams in the past too, everyone on these boards is just tired of AC supporting thinking they are the greatest thing in TN football when in all actuality they haven't done diddly squat EVER. You are all setting yourself up to catch all the heat if they don't win it all with how much the AC faithful have ran their mouth about "Greatest Show on Turf" or "When are we going to get respect".

That is NOT TRUE at all about Coach Wright. Coach Wright left because of administrative responsibilities at York Institute. The coach who took over had 3-8 and 3-8 seasons and was relieved of his duties and Coach Wright was asked to come back. They had PLENTY of talent last season and should have had a much better record. Don't post things you know nothing about.

I believe there was 1 player from Clinton ejected because the ref said "he threw a punch", but you can see on film that a punch was never thrown. I'd say the coach will try to appeal. Anyway, I don't think Clinton is coming "unraveled'. Of course I can understand them being upset after the Oak Ridge game. Friday's game against Powell will clear up a lot of questions about Clinton. I personally don't think Clinton will win unless they can cut out the stupid penalties.

This group of 1A schools is maybe the best group listed/ranked in awhile.. lots of great teams, will be very interesting to see who gets to the championship from the West brackets . I can’t help but think that, with the gauntlet that that team from the West will have gone through, they will be heavy favorites to win the gold.. but the favorite & best team doesn’t always win, do they? Line ‘em up, play it out! Of course I’m mighty high on these Dresden Lions this year. Time will tell how it all falls out.

Explain that to your brainless coach. You can see his interviews, never blames himself, he obviously never sees the need to switch the offense up! This offense would work if the players were just that good, they’re not. He has to devise a better scheme that utilizes his assets… merriweather needs the ball in Space!!! I’m sure the QB can throw a football and shoot maybe even a few of those players can catch! Sarcasm aside, Gallatin needs to change their scheme or it’ll be a change at the helm.

So it would be fair if the teacher or admin that evaluates me is my friend and gives me a 5 every time? Or if the teacher or admin that evaluates me has a grudge or a different perspective of how to score evaluations? Some admin will not give you a 5 on some sections every time, while some will regularly. What if I get evaluated during my class that has 10 IEPS and 5 ELL's. Is that fair that they did not come evaluate my AP class? Is is really fair to compare AP Physics class to PE or Band or Special Education? It is a crapshoot and in no way a fair or accurate way to base performance.

If bearden barely cleared oak ridge, I don’t think they are likely to beat Maryville. That being said, I’m impressed with their improvements and they play tough. I’m interested to see how their defense performs.

Not so fast there. I remember the 91-0 game against Red Boiling Springs I think back in 2005. After the first quarter, all Freshmen were in. It would have been more disrespectful to punt on first down than it would have been to tell the Freshmen not to score. Sometimes a team is just BAD. I don't fault Macon for having a little fun with it. If I took all the beatings they have from little brother over the years, I would take advantage of this rare occasion. Just cold hard facts. I'm from Trousdale and I didn't take offense to the 42-0. My thought process was, if you can score 70, then do it!!!! BUT remember, eventually the tide will shift again.

If you guys are okay with an outsider offering a comment... Both Alcoa and Maryville have set the bar so high over the years that anything less than perfection in every game has the potential to be viewed as failure. It is unlikely that any other 2 teams in Tennessee will ever have the success these 2 programs have displayed. So someone has to lose and someone has to win, but in the big picture I say both are winners.

Nut's answer is pretty much on the money. Powell just doesn't have the personnel in the front 7 to be a dominate defense. But when their offensive skill guys are healthy, they don't have to be, and, in my observations (and that's all it is, since I don't have any direct ties with the program any longer) they are perfectly content winning 42-28 type games. Defensively they are good enough to slow the opposition down enough to get a couple more stops per game than the other team and have more scoring opportunities. And as long as they can keep pressure off of Soles and Foust and let them make some plays defensively it's a win for their defense. And again, Nut's pretty much on it. #22 is the only one still not back, as far as I know, although Potts is obviously still not 100%. but it's my understanding that he's not too awfully far from getting there.

Athletic talent isn't rewarded in Livingston. Everyone knows who is playing, and who goes into glamour positions. No motivation for kids to play sports because even if they are talented and work hard, they'll just be blocking for the mayors kids, or a coach's kid. Alot of talent is going elsewhere. Can't say I blame the kids at all.

Yes. And they also have a coaching staff that is highly underrated. The players want to play for that staff, and the coaches do an amazing job creating situations to put their players in successful opportunities. It’s not a coaching staff that’s selfish, and take pride in running the ball to the point where it’s too much.

Jackson Christian is a very good team. Very solid on both sides. Yes they deserve a nod.

Big reason why there's a shortage: $115 per Friday night game ... 3:30-5:30 .. Drive to game (you pay the gas) 5:30-7:00 .. Get dressed, pregame, talk to coaches, go thru all checklists for the game, check equipment 7:00-8:00 .. Kickoff and first half (get screamed at and cursed at, run about a mile) 8:00-8:20 .. Halftime (rest, eat a bag of chips and a bottle of water if the school is nice enough to provide it) 8:20-9:30 .. 2nd half (get cursed at and screamed at even worse, especially if the game is tight going down the stretch, run another mile) 9:30 -10:00 .. Leave the field with police as security, shower, change clothes, leave the school 10:00-10:15 .. Drive to the closest fast food joint because you're starving 10:15-10:45 .. wait in line and eventually scarf down a dry burger with fries 10:45-12:45 .. Drive home (you once again pay the gas) Hopefully be in bed by 1:30 am .. 3:30 - 12:30 is 9 hours ... $115 for 9 hours equals $12.77 per hour Oh yeah, take off $20 in gas .. $95 for 9 hours equals $10.50 per hour .. (You've also spent $400 on equipment, officials pants, shirts, shoes, flags etc) Any idea what a high school profits on a Friday night game ??? These officials are the guys you gotta have to make that money ... They do it because they love it .. not for the money ... While you are watching your kids play, they are away from their families .. Pay em .. they earn it .. and from what they have to go thru, they deserve it !!!!
