  3. When did it become okay to move FOOTBALL games because it is going to rain? It’s “showers” people. Not severe weather (lightning, tornadoes, etc.) Furthermore, to propagate the idea that not agreeing to move the game because of the chance of rain implies weakness is disingenuous to say the least.

  4. Pirates game was changed to Thursday but then moved back to Friday night due to transportation issues for Gordonsville, or maybe because they decided they had a better chance playing in the rain and mud against us.

  5. It’s even more amazing seeing the preparation and thought process through the week of practice. He puts in a lot of work and it usually shows. I know I enjoyed it.

  6. It's "Ed'z Wingz", and yes, the wings are fantastic. Also their burgers are the bomb. Try the "Alderman Burger", has smoked bologna and the "Barnyard Burger" has brisket, chicken fingers, and a fried egg. It's huge. After you go through "town" and pass the hospital on 64, it's just a couple of streets out of the way on Adams Street. But also, you can stop at Nick's Grill right off of I-65 exit. It is on 64 in the lobby of the Motel 6 and right across from Sarge's Restaurant (don't go there). The Street Burrito is also HUGE and can choose carnitas, barbacoa, or chicken in it, but they have very good burgers as well. It's only 45 minutes from Huntland HS from there and a good stop after driving 2 1/2 hours. You will drive past Fayetteville High School where I'm told the Mustangs are going to go through their warm-ups on Friday. File that away for future reference in a couple of years when playoffs go through Fayetteville (LOL). Good luck and safe travels Mustangs!

  7. Go West! You might not want your players shaking hands after the game...they may be handing out business cards.

  8. 1A Mr. Football Finalists Hunter Ensley (Huntingdon) Ronto Tipton (South Pittsburg) Holden Willis (Greenback) Congratulations to these 3 players and the other 2 who were left off that were also deserving. Now let’s play some football!

  10. Obviously you never sat under the tutelage of Mrs. Elmore sir. IF you want facts, compare the state report cards on the Tennessee Department of Education website. I think you will find my alma mater has performed quite well under the leadership of Dr. Clint Satterfield.

  11. Lord knows you have enough miles put on your own car watching other teams post season, im sure someone will help out-

  12. So, so, so proud of Holden he is THE best player in 1A. Absolutely dominant wide receiver. No one in the state can cover him 1 on 1. If he doesn't win and the fact that the TSSAA left the #1 qb in the state off the list will prove that this entire award is a joke.

  15. The loser here is Milan. Gave the guy an opportunity and get no appreciation, credit whatsoever. Make a change and get accused of what they certainly proved was not the case. Milan was 6-6 and several of the wins were against terrible teams. Should of certainly beat Wooddale, seems they imploded in that one and then squandered it at the end. I kinna figured pre season that they'd have to do pretty well this year 8-2 or so. Thought maybe the W over Covington may have given another year but then then add the other favored L's and it's all she wrote. Plus the Covington win wasn't so much a shocker(Milan should be expected to beat Cov at least 50-60% of the time) also the fact that Cov in all reality aren't as good as typical Cov teams(they're still kinna searching for who they are tho last week's outing seems more Cov like)

  16. My money is on Noah. I dont count/compare the Whitworth and Palmer match as that was 2 years ago, different styles and Palmer flat out gassed with a 3 point lead going into the 3rd period -then gave up 2 sets of back points. Again all good kids but my vote would be Noah based on his style and coaching both Noah and Palmer for a few years. Just to be clear Whitworth is a bad boy as well.

  19. My only thing is someone from SP was on here last week saying they had like 5-7 guys who average 10 yards a carry if that's true then this whole process has been a middle finger to the people of Lake County.

  20. Should we start a thread talking about the TC vs Meigs rematch? Me and H20man have made carpooling plans to go see TC play next week.

  21. I like it! Travel is an age old crutch they've used for years. Regular season? Sure, I don't like to see regions spread out over 150 miles, but post season? Heck ya, let's spice it up a little.

  25. How so? We are 100% against DC. The take away is this year HC took out starters at halftime. 2nd string played the 3rd quarter. And 3 string played the 4th quarter. That's when DC scored the 7 taking you from 7 to 14. If we kept the starters in lord knows how many we would have scored that game. Oh and DC remembers those 3 games ... I promise

  26. If I was a distinct underdog, no way I avoid the rain. Take any edge you can!

  27. I highly doubt it, both teams would have to agree and myself personally would think TC would be ok with playing in a monsoon since we did at Portland a few weeks ago.

  28. If it’s raining we probably ain’t going
    1 point
  29. Ok yes it is a possibility we could lose the game. There is 2 teams playing this game. The probability of HC winning is 90%. DC has a 10% chance to pull this off. There are you DC fans happy? I'm at least giving y'all a chance.

  33. I know you addressed this to Barney and he answered it pretty well, but I hope you don't mind my input as well. I've made my opinion rather clear that I think consolidation was one of the worst decisions Blount county ever made. They sold out the kids to make a few dollars. So naturally I think combining the schools would be an even bigger disaster. Look at the objective evidence. Look at all the former players and excellent students from both county schools that made sure their kids did not go to those same schools. Former Valedictorians, youth pastors, business owners, etc. along with outstanding athletes, chose for their kids to not go to the same Big school they were herded to when they were students. If the big consolidated schools were the best option, these parents surely after experiencing it for themselves would want their kids to have the same opportunity. No one that supports huge consolidated schools can provide a logical answer as to why former students who became successful adults and successful parents, would purposefully go out of their way to make sure their children didn't go to that same school if they thought it was the best option for their own children. When successful parents from small community schools start relocating their kids for the sole purpose of having them enrolled in large consolidated schools, then maybe there will be a reasonable argument for the big schools.

  34. Did you get a picture of the event as it happened? Seems to me this is where people say one thing but can't back it up....which is deemed hearsay by TSSAA. I'm not questioning the validity of your story, just the case closed part. Personally, I think as long as Matt has Josh Jones on staff he'll have a bulls eye on the program.

  35. No more than anyone else. Swafford moved here as a freshman and there have been some hurt feelings ever since, but truth be told I don't count kids who start their freshman year somewhere as transfers. There was the LB a few years ago that was kicked off the team at a neighboring school. Moved to Decatur and now plays for ETSU. Meigs is in a good spot because it sits between a lot of bigger schools. I've heard several families that moved here say that they're glad they did. We get two or three a year, and have for a long time. Difference now is that 10 years ago the ones we got couldn't play dead in a western.

  36. You probably should have just stuck with not predicting a score after that one!

  37. Runner up I think that’s why I’m a little irritated. People think these kids from Meigs just showed up and the wins were easy. I’ve watched some recover from knee operations, shoulder surgery, injury that was supposed to sideline a player for season and he gets back. I’ve heard from several ppl how strong some of these boys are. So they’ve worked for it... Oneida may come in and get the W but to act like Meigs has gotten the entitlement treatment is a joke.

  38. Former player. Not going to say what year cause id like some form of anonymity on here, but in my four years of playing for coach Webster, we never used wet balls in practice. We did everything in our power to keep the balls dry if it was wet out during practice.

  39. This is the last I'll say about this subject. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and website is here for us to do just that. The issue here is people don't seem to think the misconduct in the play should warrant the negate of the touchdown. I however do. This rule was put in place to protect the kids and keep from injury. How many people on here would be judging this call if the kid had gotten hurt?? Please speak up as that's the issue here. Because no one was hurt people feel like the call didnt really affect the gameplay. But if it had everyone would have been calling for the player to get ejected etc. Its a disappointment that Hampton lost that way, honestly if the game had been played 5 different times and on different weeks it could have been the 5th week easily that decided the game. Anyhow this is the last I will speak on this as its ruining this thread. I will say @Appvol I have alot of respect for you as a person by stating what you believe in despite the crowd you run with on here. Most people would either not say anything at all if they disagree, or agree by association so to speak. You seem to have integrity, and have stated your opinion despite the fallout your getting from your buddies on here. And not the Marion kind of integrity either. Good job sir. Also Meigs fans, Oneida is a threat, they were a threat last game. Will be a threat this game. We should give them that respect.

  40. Yeah when we get up in the morning we piss excellence. We are the best there is that's all there is to it. Most games we just show up and win. Hardest part is just getting to the stadium. Barely even lift or run either. Its just being a natural winner. Must be bred into us.

  41. Hahahahaha your funny. What kind of Coach or Administration is gonna listen to some fan from a message board giving them “information.” not hardly, like I said in another thread congrats on Powell beating the system...for now. I know you’ve been waiting patiently for a ruling, but oh...wait... I forgot your not affiliated with Powell anymore right?

  43. Not your place? How many times have you instructed Coach T posters to quit talking and accusing schools of T$$AA violations and instead just call T$$AA and give them your evidence. So do as l say, not as l refuse to do. That's what l thought. High and Mighty HTV. Well maybe you not as connected as you say you are. I guess you just like all us other Coach T posters. Just a bunch of hot air.

  44. No, not really. Sorry it ever came to this in the first place. Some people I really liked bought in to the mob mentality and couldn't even begin to fathom that sometimes things aren't really what they wish they are. The mob played judge, jury, and executioner before the TSSAA could ever do their part. IMO, everybody in Knox County had better be sure there are no skeletons in their closets. Like I have said, they are all living in glass houses and this is going to make that glass even more clear. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, either.

  45. The loaded class may be premature FBfan26. I saw the Father Ryan JV team demolish LA 41-0.....but the Ryan youngsters are supposed to be good as well. Whipped MBA, JP2, CPA, and BA to name a few....closest game was 14point spread.

  47. This will be a very physical football game. We come out the Gates hot i see us having no problem! Our defense played its best ball last night, swarming to the ball, getting after the QB and being sure tacklers. I know for a fact Crockett will come in motivated to play this game!
