And I love the kids on this year's team I have coached about half of them in youth sports. But as far as comparing them to the other state championship team's that Greeneville has had. There is no comparison at least not Yet. They haven't won anything Yet. You have to win to be able to be compared to those team's

Pearl Cohn is who I'm worried about the most out of the West. But there is other good team's out West and south Doyle has a good team very capable. I'm not even sure the guy that started this thread is a Greeneville fan. But either way he doesn't represent the rest of us. That's for sure. I love coacht as a place to have good football conversation. But the sticking the chest out and the trash talking about high school kid's is just plain stupid

Well you seem to know quiet a bit about players and such.I wont say the kids name on here but he was a Fullback here, heard he actually made the starting rotation.He left GB because he wasnt gonna be able to play the first six weeks because he was academically ineligible.How did he get eligible so quick?I didnt hear if he played against Heritage but that also could be a problem--Possibly!I do understand that his family is close to the QBs.

Show me a team with a losing record and most of the time you have that group just as you mentioned that better players are setting on the bench because some one has rubbed somebody in the club raw. I don't know the inside at WB as well as you do but I remember one players dad being a money man for a real estate venture with someone which I heard didn't end smoothly. I've heard other stories from credible sources but it goes on almost everywhere. If the right daddy has the power I'm telling everyone Peyton Manning wouldn't crack the lineup.

On a lighter note, we did have some laughs tonight, met a girl that works at the Lawnville Pilot, she was hot, called herself Fish Head Wanda, she run about 250 and only has 4 kids. But, I'm gonna have to beat out BC junior and Walmart Bag Guy to get with her.

Not here to engage in an argument or nitpick details about the usefulness...point is, millions spent on athletics a few years ago, and just now publicizing the fact that they have smartboards and clickers. If these educational tools aren't important, why make a big deal about them now, and why make it a point update the athletic facilities (which were already nice) years ahead of them. I didn't bring up education (wasn't even in the discussion) at all, you used it to make a point about kids leaving one school district for another, and stated that education was the #1 priority in Dyersburg. Follow the money, and it doesn't seem so.

No doubt it better to have quality depth and those numbers are one of the reasons we have so many public classifications these days.Yes there are smaller 3a and 4a schools like Alcoa, Greeneville and Elizabethton who have handed to the bigger 5a and 6a teams with more depth but there is more then numbers at play there.Just because a hundred or more kids come out for some of those big schools,it doesn't matter because some of those coaches couldn't carry many of the Greeneville coaches jock strap.I seen it first hand with a 6a programs weight training a few years ago.A coach punished the whole team because it took his strongest player longer to get his weights on and off. I would have challenged the whole team to get stronger instead of belittling the strongest player.Four of his top lineman quit that team and one of them will soon be in the NFL.

Yea I think this is a huge game and maybe most important for Milan this year. No disrespect to other teams in region but if Milan loses then that just about guarantees SG & Haywood 1-2 and Milan fighting for playoffs with other teams.

Alrighty then.I will not read all the comments since this has been posted but will give my own lengthy opinion.All three of these teams on any given day could take most any public school football team to the woodshed and yes that includes our very fine Devil team.Could Greeneville beat them on any given day as well, I'll say yes but either question doesn't matter this year because the Devils don't play any of them.Mainly to all the fans around the state and beyond that are not Devil fans.I love the Devils but understand that on any given day,not just the best teams around the state but with a combination of Greeneville mistakes and a fired up opponent,the Devils could be beat and had better prepare and play that way every week.

Depends on the type of injuries. We are talking concussions and others that conditioning really has no bearing on.

Not trying to get up in someone else's debate, but sometimes the high road gets a little muddy. We're a small rural school with limited funds for athletics, but have had smartboards and clickers in every classroom (in the county) since 2010...how would you justify education over athletics after installing turf, a new stadium, a jumbotron, and a fieldhouse before providing educational staples like those? I just saw (about three weeks ago) where Dyersburg was "advertising" that they now had them in every classroom, over 10 years behind the curve.

This has for sure been a strange start to the season, we made it thru last gl year with very few injuries and have been no where near healthy as of yet ! Milan literally hasn’t been healthy since the first scrimmage just like the Golden Tide ! Hope the Dawgs get healthy and make a run late season !!!

I feel your pain!We GB are very young and catch myself hoping to beat teams we usually railroad.Its not a good feeling.You never want your team to be "OK" with losing it can be contagious.Living in LC for almost 30 years and have family chose to go to Loudon because LC is OK with losing at least that's the feeling when you go to one of their games,in 2019 we put 50 on them at the half and it was like a social affair on their side.In Youth ball LC has had some VERY talented teams that were hard to handle then get to high school to lose that fire.You have to hate losing more than you love winning-All that to say OR has a ton of Pride and will roll in this one.

Please know TripleO in no way represents ANY part of the WH community. I know the town is excited to be able to play at Nissan Stadium but hasn’t forgotten why we are playing there. Still praying for the Waverly community. Waverly has put up quite a few points this season. I’m sure this could be another shootout. Our defense has to play better Thursday than we did against the Panthers. I’m looking forward to the matchup.

I don't know if it's just me, call me crazy, but it looked like we were trying to run the clock and take the air out of the ball, trying to keep it close. Running the ball down 10 between the tackles late in the 4th? I know that sounds crazy, guess you had to be there. The final score doesn't look that bad, but this game wasn't that close. FHS was in control throughout.

Certainly nothing new as I have heard that from friends that had kids at BA, BGA, etc for years. It's that fine line of wanting to win as long as "the talent" does not take my child's spot.
