Hey newbie - this Tygard man is living rent free in a bunch of y'all's heads. It's the same staff as last year with the exception of one - and he took a job at MTSU? I guess the coaches are not as clear on wanting to leave as you are. I know some folks are concerned about the change and the technology CCT is bringing to the game. I mean, I might not be comfortable either with having that chip inserted in my head to track my performance during a game! Who knows if he activates it at other times??!! I also think the HUD in the visors would be a little distracting - but being able to see the angle and speed of a defender coming at you, along with the trajectory of the ball in the air, has to be an advantage. And who knows what the TSSAA will rule on his using the nano bots to track the opposing teams players - I mean they don't even know they are being tracked! What are opponents to do? Maybe employ an EMP at half-time to disable them, but you know CCT will just have a second batch released as soon as they come back out on the field! You know his nefarious mind is always working on something.

No disrespect but what did he ever do at MJ to have a field named after him? Is the bar really set that low over there? This smells like a son throwing dad a thank you for the job bone. I could be wrong though.

It was 93, Wild did a marvelous job of getting boys on the football field, and he had a monster staff helping him. Mike Newton was the defensive coordinator and they ran the veer offensively. I'll hold to my thoughts though. If Central's defense can get to Miller and put him on the ground, they can be successful, if not he will beat you in the open field. To me this is the difference. This and win the turnover game. Still going to be a tough task in my opionion. McMinn offense will be better than any team MC has faced in the pre-season.

Heritage has been a train wreck since 1989. For 33 years the best three teams went 7-4,5-5 and 5-6 crowded around with five 0-10 teams and ten going 1-9. If I had been the A.D. and all those boys quit the football team like they did three years ago on Hammontree I would have cancelled the program and took forfeits as to have a bunch of punks all get together and quit. I would also made sure that high school yearbook had a big color picture of the team with everyone that quits face whited out but their name still at the bottom of the page so all the quitters would never be forgotten. Once a quitter always a quitter and that's what's wrong with society now.

Sad! Every parent wants (or should want) what's best for their child. Unfortunately what some want is what they want, not what's best for the child. KIDS SPORTS, LET THE KIDS PLAY IT, STAY OUT OF THE WAY!

I'm very proud of this Peabody team. They played with a lot of heart tonight. Playing without 2qbs. The refs did not cost us the game but they allowed Milan to hold all night. If the fans see it, the refs see it. Hats off to a really talented Bulldog team. Coach Carr has no class. 2yeats ago on that same field, Peabody took a knee on the 3 yard line. Fast forward to tonight. Peabody no time outs,. Less than 2 minutes and Milan throws the ball. That was so classless and I promise it will come back and bite You in the a..,.

If Peabody had run the wildcat from the get-go they could have won this game. I don't know if the Bulldog defense could have withstood that kind of pressure. Milan is very quick and hard to get the edge on but are vulnerable up the gut. I don't believe this Peabody squad has the speed yall have had the last few years. Milan's QB played well and #3 is a very solid runningback. Both teams made bunch of mistakes. Good game but I was not overly impressed with either team.

Cant wait to watch the new look Wildcats.I look for a good game and hope Oak Ridge can leave Knoxville 1-0.We have a great staff but our fans need to be patient as they build this thing back the right way.We are building depth we havent had since coach Blade.I really think that has been the missing piece to get this program over that last hump again.So enjoy the ride and support this team and staff because the payoff will be fun.Lets fill up the visitor side the next 2 weeks.RWR

Well that definitely looked like a week 1 performance for both offenses. Who in the world was in charge of the clock in this one? I lost track of the number of times the clock operator just let the clock run for no apparent reason.

First play of Osovet era...touchdown Maryville. Left when the score hit 35-0 with time left in the first half. Maryville made lots of mistakes but it didn’t much matter. Virtually no offense from Heritage. Heritage took a time out so Osovet could argue with refs. Also had a sideline warning. He needs to learn the officiating community in Blount County is tight knit and you don’t want to piss them off.

First… let me say I have ZERO to do with this program. Just wanted to get that out of the way so everyone knows I’m unbiased on this. I recently spoke with Tygard about the program. The ups, the downs. The good, the bad. We talked offense, we talked defense. We talked principles, we talked philosophy. We talked staff. We talked about all of it. After that conversation, I can tell you that he has some good things going there. If people would take a little time to really take a look, you would see that.

Yea i grew up in Covington as well as played for Covington. So to us it was "across the river". LOL My wife is from Brownsville and my kids go to school here too! So I whole heartedly pull for the Tomcats! (Unless they are playing the chargers then its a win win for me!!) And yes, I believe the rival should be played every year!

I admittedly don't know much about either Perry but I just didn't remember either doing much outside of 7 wins or so and early exits from the playoffs. I should probably research more before I post. It just surprised me when I couldn't find any championships or anything. Did he donate a bunch of money to the school?

Great points! If you look even at the last time Central won, without a huge number of turnovers it wouldn't have happened. This is a lot tougher task than people are realizing.

The problem most don't understand about Heritage is that really there was not much interest in the job and the majority would have to start their own midget league team somewhere to create a coaching job. The fans there have had the wool pulled over their eye's so much over the past thirty years and someone gets the job that is really over qualified so I do understand the skepticism. It would probably be like being married to Lorena Bobbitt and sleeping with one eye open all the time. I do understand.

There is a reason it is called "playing" and called "a game" I pray that society return to the day where life is more important than winning

Waverly/White house??? Upperman/Watertown???? Clarksville/Springfield….? they need to quit trying so hard to please everybody based on areas and classifications…. And instead just put watchable games on TV.. lol

For the Beech fans making the drive, y’all please be safe and try to rest up before the trip, or maybe even consider staying overnight Friday and heading home Saturday morning If that’s an option for you (and you don’t have to pick your player up back at the school). I know it’s not all that far but the drive can be a tough one at 10:00 pm after waking early and being up all day working or taking care of children/family. Just something to think about. It’s great experience for the kiddos but makes for a really long day for families. Everyone please be cautious!

You mentioned Jeff Co. I’ll take an educated guess and say they probably had the best winning percentage in the state in the 1980’s, with the possible exception of BA, although they only won one state championship. Them and Rhea Co. had a great rivalry and played every season, plus two outstanding playoff games. In an oddity, the visiting team won every single game in the series. A coach that won a game or two at Maryville played on a couple of those Jeff Co. teams. Sorry for getting off-topic.

TCA and Adamsville fans need to be aware. There are at least 2 websites out there advertising that they will have a live video stream of the Adamsville at TCA game on Friday. One of them is even masquerading as the NFHS website. The NFHS network is not broadcasting this game as TCA is not a NFHS member school. Worthy Road Studios has the contract for TCA video streams. Any other video stream site is FAKE NEWS. They are trying to get your personal information. The Adamsville at TVA game on Friday will be available on the TCA Facebook page. TCA and A'ville have definitely had some wars over the past decade, and this one probably won't be much different. Both teams will be anxious to get off on the right foot after being a little behind what they have been used to, and 0-1 isn't in either's plans. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a little breeze in the air when the TCA bus rolls in...just enough to shake the bushes over toward the visitors sideline a 'lil bit.

I don"t know when I've seen so many "good" teams in rural west tennessee. Remains to be seen how many great teams there are but there are a lot of talented teams across the west.
