You could tweak the current system but really it is pretty fair seeing how there are too many classifications in Tn.2 points

Same. If everyone would just put her on the ignore list, this forum would be a much more pleasant place.2 points

Stay in your run lanes. Move together, make rb run to sidelines.... make him pay when he goes upfield. Uc can control the clock. Should wear them down for last quarter . But turnovers always can change game either way. Im driving to this one. Renting a junker.2 points

UC will do to MASE what Westview did to them 2 years ago. I believe it was Westview 19 MASE ALLSTAR TEAM 0. LOL1 point

Hearing stories and being there are two different things… Like I said speculation and conjecture. I’ve spent a lot of time in the training, recruiting, and 7v7 world and I promise you it doesn’t go down like people think/say. Those kids ask for advice on certain things, but it’s not like Buck is running around telling kids to leave one program to go to another. That just doesn’t make business sense. When you do what NPA does you can’t do things to intentionally alienate coaches.1 point

We played it a little different this play day, which I liked. We only had 9 players today with Maya Turner out, so we played all our players a lot because we played 4 games. Didn't have enough to play JV. I noticed Dyersburg subbed some too so I won't make excuses as that is the reason why we lost the game. We are trying to get some younger players in some bigger games as well. I don't think we play y'all as the Thanksgiving Tournament is already set. When you host a Tournament you have to comply with all needs and every team wants to play the best teams. We are playing Covington and South Side which will be good games for us. I wished we played y'all again though because we can play y'all better than we did. I think y'all are playing USJ and Covington based on my schedule. I wish y'all well as y'all will be really good and one of the best in the state for the next few years. Coach Strayhorn deserves to be good. Gibson County and him have always had a great relationship. He has done a whole lot for girls basketball for many years in West Tennessee. Proud for him and Dyersburg.1 point

Mr Willoughby & #8 Hughes will have to have a monster type game to give Fayetteville a chance in this one. Also, they'll need some help. Even then, I think Smith County wins. I look for the Owls to be the 2A host team in Chattanooga.1 point

That’s good in theory, but not how it really works. I know that organization well and that’s nothing more than speculation and conjecture. That said, when you’re training the top talent in the state, people take notice of any moves. Boo Carter is a perfect example. Boo is a NPA guy and changed schools. NPA had nothing to do with that move, but because he trains with NPA everyone said NPA directed it. Maybe Gallatin should be more NPA and less Banks. Lol1 point

I have been thinking about the best defensive players I have seen in my time in West TN. Chris Donald from Huntingdung (played at UT), Rod Smith and Avery Williamson (Memphis and Kentucky/Titans) were all dominant players. But “Big K” changes the game. Teams have to do things they may not want to cause they just can’t run the ball. They have to get the edge or go vertical and qbs don’t have much time to get vertical. He will definitely not have the best stats of the Mr. Football candidates but I believe he may be the most impactful.1 point

Looks about right to me for this week. I feel like next week's may look completely different though!1 point

Bullfrog, I thought you liked us. Did I drink all your wine or something? Is that what's troubling you this morning? Well, it was some mighty fine wine.1 point

Such a homer! What’s deceiving about 27 points? TCA is averaging quite a few more than that. It will be a great game with NC’s QB being a huge factor. Going to be hard to out coach a multiple state champion coach like Bowling. JC tried it by basically putting 7 in the secondary to take away TCA’s strong passing game and Bowling pounded it 4 yards at a time! JC tried that in 2014 when Akin was leading the air raid but that didn’t go to well either for JC with Goldsmith and Bond running the ball for TCA.1 point

Some of the schools have bad coaching and have for years. I don’t see anything changing.1 point

No disrespect to SP because they have a great team and program. But they are several teams in the state that would give them a beating, they are a few in 2A that would give them all they want.1 point

Yeah probably, guess we get kinda thin skinned sometimes. Just so we win don't matter.1 point

None of the region 1 small schools are gonna out talent the legit contenders. Getting beat by bigger more talented teams is not a disgrace, Lee's Mcrae would have a hard time with Alabama.1 point

We’re not all bad fans. Next week is going to be a war. I do think my bears take this one, but absolutely am not garunteeing it. With that being said, I do think it will take a great effort by Maryville to win this. Bradley is super fast and that defense is wicked! QB1 has been showing out as of late If anyone can do it, it’s the rebels. Go Bears!!!!1 point

Congratulations to Oakland. Gallatin played tough until right before the half when it all fell apart. Morris is the real deal and one heck of a runner. Gallatin had no answer. Oakland did not do anything fancy and it just shows how much we lack to get to that level. Gallatin is going to concentrate in the weightroom and hope to beef up our boys some before next season. Overall very happy with the direction of the program under Stroup. We grew up some this year and I think we make even more strides this next season. It’s a process.1 point

Barney, my wifey is a former Unicoi County cheerleader class of 74. She almost did a flip at 50 something seconds. She almost had a heart attack at 13 seconds. She looked at me and said why can’t my blue Devils just lose like your Toppers. This all took place after we got back from the GHS/Fulton game. On to ETSU this late AM.1 point

Thanks I enjoy doing this and also enjoy others that add to it also. Last Night I was 28-5 which is 85%. It's impossible to hit 100% because to much happens behind the scenes you'll never hear about that can affect the game. There was a point at halftime last night I was thinking I may miss 12 of these this week then in the last minute teams like Rockwood, Gibbs, Austin East and McMinn Central pulled it out and Jefferson hung on also. I'll end up spending a lot of time digging on the last 10 to 12 teams til I'm satisfied and may take me right up until I post them the night before the first games on Thursday games. The biggest excitment of it is the handful that pull it out in the last minute or two and that happens every week. Glad you enjoy.1 point

Region 5 has nothing to hang their heads about, tonight's results just validated what most were saying in August... the top 3/4 teams in R/6 were capable of winning a championship barring injuries and surviving their own region to advance. Peabody (last team in) and Adamsville (first team out) could probably have competed for regional titles in most areas in 2A. Eventually this region will be whittled down by one another if nobody outside can knock them off, but whomever makes it to the 'ship will definitely have some battle scars and steady nerves. Iron sharpens iron, and there's still some grinding left to do to see who's left standing.1 point

Devils battled but came up a bit short. Nothing to hang their heads about. Finished 6-5 with three losses to teams that are currently 11-0 and one loss to a team that’s 9-2. Our fifth loss, Station Camp, is still playing. Not one for moral victories but it would have been nice to see our region sweep. Guess it wasn’t meant to be. Good luck next week to Hardin County. We left it all on the field.1 point

JC will have the home crowd advantage. Sounds like they packed the dumplins in the valley tonight where as bearden and DB played in front of 450 spectators.1 point

Alcoa is a top notch program, so is Maryville. Look at their non region schedule, they're not hiding from anyone. Other schools can choose to move up to avoid them if they wish. My son was put out by them in the playoffs his sophomore year, was a heck of a game. It was fun to watch our small communities (McMinn Central) play them. We played them tough, but came up short. No one whined or complained, just wished them Tornado's good luck.1 point
