Their coach grew up playing his first football in westmoreland and learning how to run the wingT from an early age there. Then went to learn from a genius at Oakland. Hes the best coach we have around these parts up here. It would be in westmorelands best interest to try to hire him away from the Tigers! I’m gonna say Macon wins this one in a close game

It was a good first year. And honestly, I probably expected a little bit too much considering that as well. Expecting Rang to just come in after having 3 different coaches in 3 years and to get to the state championship is asking a lot. Those seniors have been through 3 different coaching staffs. That’s tough. Right now this program just needs some much needed stability in place. It was a great group though, and they’ll be missed. Maybe our teams can lock horns again soon! He is doing good. They released him from the hospital and it appears it was a severe stinger. Thanks for the concern. McKenzie has a very good team and that defense really shut Collinwood down. You didn't get Collinwood's best effort tonight. The game tonight looked a whole lot like the Wayne County game. After #7 got injured it appeared to take the wind out of the Trojan's. Not saying they could have beaten McKenzie but it would have been a little more competitive. It's been a while since Collinwood was in the playoffs and the experience of McKenzie was very evident. Congrats on a big win and good luck next week against Moore County.

Jefferson county was a VERY weak 1 seed and very well could have lost to Cleveland. They do not have the athletes to compete with upper tier teams.

Last post on this one for me but I did want to clarify something. I posted that the refs made an incorrect call on the pass play. I said that based on my incorrect understanding of the rule. I thought the rule was the same as college where any part of the body could be in or behind the neutral zone. The Oneida QB did have a foot in or behind the neutral zone but one was clearly beyond. After checking NFHS rules the short version is both feet must be in or behind the neutral zone so absolutely the correct call was made. I’m only posting to share what I found about the rule for those that may not have known the rule. Here’s a quote of the entire rule: ART. 1 . . . It is a legal forward pass, if during a scrimmage down and before team possession has changed, a player of A throws the ball with both feet of the passer in or behind the neutral zone when the ball is released. Only one forward pass may be thrown during the down. Link to the 2021 rule book I found online. Yea I actually thought MASE would be different from the other Memphis teams I have watched through out my years but after the game listening to the fan’s saying we cheated them and watching player try to fight a certain player saying he lost the game. The coaches didn’t try to stop anything. Even the security treated UC fans like crap. Lost all respect last night. MASE has the talent bought or not, but without discipline and self respect they will go nowhere. That starts with the coaches teaching that.

Yes, great player. Murvil has had several. #22 from a decade ago was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. But Murvil kids don’t play both ways like some studs do at other schools. BCs #6 was great on defense, offense, and special teams.

How many do you think they’ll win in their new district? I didn’t say they were hosting sectionals or going to state in either. I think they would’ve likely done as good in 3A as in 2A. I don’t particularly think they’ll excel in either and I feel they would’ve more competitive in 3A than 2A in their district depending which district they landed in. You don’t agree? OK, that’s fine. You’re free to have an opinion just like everyone else. I can assure you those that hold the same opinion as me know far more basketball than either of us ever will though. I’m not a big basketball fan, but I do have close friends and contacts that are absolutely basketball minds. They told me their thoughts on both scenarios, I’m just listening to those that know more than either of us.

Bradley is a great team. They were going to be good this year regardless, but Boo and Kaleb have elevated them to another notch. Their corners are so good that they can play man to man and have their D1 safeties loaded in the box to help stop the run. Really a perfect storm for Bradley this year and as much as it pains me to say it, I hope they go all the way.

South Greene has a ton of talent but for whatever reason, they are extremely inconsistent. Hats off to Happy Valley but they had no business beating SG, SG should have destroyed Eagleton, they played better against us but not to their talent level. As far as York goes, they are a good team and we'll have to play at a high level,That being said and barring dumb junk,Think we will give um all they want. This bunch has really grown from the start of the season.Win lose or Draw,I'm very proud of the kids.

If the rule isn’t what I understand the it absolutely would be the correct call. My understanding is if any part of the player is at or behind the line it was ok. His left foot was definitely beyond but his right was not. Totally agree it did not impact the outcome. Between our mistakes and their execution we were had very early in this one.

I doubt and hope that Rand is not gone. However, the decision maker(s) who revamped the team entrance (not running thru the band and the fight song/ no band performance at half (a DJ with loud bad music(??) Do need to be spotlighted.) This change for the worst worked it's way through the band,cheerleaders, dancecats,crowd and finally the team. Motive for this move at this time? All-in-all a fun season and looking forward to next year. Lots of talent returning.
