  1. That’s a ridiculous post of the year nominee. Lol. Alco can’t even win the county!

  2. The school board has been to busy dealing with Karen and the Library Book this week. Somebody should take it and throw it at her.

  3. His ability to put the ball in the endzone is pretty big when Boo Carter is on the other side. Nothing kills momentum faster than a big KO return

  4. He goes around to all the game threads and says the same thing. I guess he thinks it’s funny. I and most other posters I have talked to just think there is something wrong with him. I mean really. Who says this same thing over and over? He’s got issues.

  5. Game of the week for West TN! I will listening close! I refuse that garbage NHFSHS crap that the T$$AA punches down our throats. I will go old school. Sit in the garage and listen to it on the radio from my truck!

  6. I guess that is why your team had to throw a fit and run away from playing in a good region.

  8. A little biased is an understatement you would think Upperman was capable of beating the Alabama Crimson Tide listening to those guys. Plus they will disrespect the opponent and refs every chance they get.

  10. All anyone has to do is put on game film of Greeneville to realize they are a dang good football team. I don’t care what the teams records were. They are really good and being at home makes them even tougher. These two schools are going to collide in almost every sport for a state title. Upperman needs to create turnovers and get some easy touchdowns so they can grind it out and play with the lead. Dictate the pace of the game. Easier said than done for sure.

  19. I hope what I heard about Gray isn't completely true and if it is I hope he has a speedy recovery and it doesn't affect him next year. I understand coaches like to stick to what they do best, especially Swenson, but in these games and beyond, there has to be some kind of change going forward if we are going to be successful, at least next year in this region. Somebody said earlier, somewhere, that we were pretty successful on the pass plays against Riverside and they wondered why we got away from it. I agree with them. Why not just keep passing until we set up the run? We can't keep running the same plays against good teams and expect it to work every time, there has to be an adjustment somewhere and IMO these coaches aren't able to do that in meaningful games. That has been shown plenty of times in the past 10 or more years. I'm not saying dump Swenson, but Jesus it's so frustrating. Our secondary has played really well this year, even better than I had expected, but I agree with you, that play you should have had 1 or maybe 2 players dropped back to defend the long pass. Another issue, like you stated, is the non-existent hurry up offense. In meaningful games, every second counts and it will hurt you tremendously if your qb is running 15-20 seconds off the clock having to run to the sideline to get the play. Swenson and the coaches need to get with the program. Use pictures or hand signals something, even if its just for the hurry up offense. I can't say that if all this was fixed during the game with Riverside, we would win, but I think it would have been closer. Riverside is just talented, from the players to the coaches. Good coaches win those meaningful games and Frost did just that, 2 years in a row. Good luck to the Panthers, bring that gold back to the west! Much respect from a salty and frustrated Mustang fan.

  20. I’ve always assumed it’s something with their schedule on the Tabernacle side . I’m pretty sure I’ve seen where that some of the tournament organizers help Tabernacle a lot with the travel aspect. I also think it was one of the years recently where they had been here for like a full week before the first game?

  21. Yep always a great slate of games. Gibson County and South Side gets back at it which has become one of my favorite games every year. Been some great games over the years where both teams have had some great wins. This is one game that each program needs to play win or lose and has became a great tradition. Both programs have been elite for many years. Look forward to seeing you Hawk. Hope you and your family have a great Holiday.

  23. This is what I've been asking this guy for two years now, he don't have a team. He just trolls around hating on other folks teams. But we live here, we know the kids, the coaches and the communities, and the county dynamics. He don't. So take it for what it's worth. Probably hasn't paid his $8 to see a high school football game this year.

  24. It will be a tall task to beat Greeneville at home. Upperman wont be intimidated but will they have enough athletes on the field to win? I still say one year away from the State title game but would take it a year early if it came.

  26. Exactly. It’s not multiple choice!!! Look at it every year where 70-75% of the gold balls goes too. Dear lord

  27. Same to you bud. I think our boys played hard. We didn’t play clean as evidenced by the two turnovers. I kinda think our playcalling on offense was handcuffed due to injury and we definitely have zero semblance of a hurry up. The usage of the clock was a major stumbling block. The major issue I had with coaching was in particular the malfeasance of never having a safety (or two) back with a play coming you know they are going to go to the end zone such as the last play before half. We also imo don’t do a good job of teaching technique to our dbs, such as how to line up to take away those slants. Easy to coach on a message board. Lol. We just got beat by a better team that night. Hope the Panthers bring home the gold!

  28. On any given day one team can beat another. That is why we show up. Coaches and players work all year and 2.5 hours can make it worth it, or a bust. Good luck to all still playing! Enjoy turkey day!

  29. 11 out of the last 13 4A Championships have gone to East TN teams. 7 out of the 11 have gone to Betsy, AC, or Greeneville. That’s why we are battle tested and ready for Friday.

  33. I don't think you realize how far off you actually are . Pearl-Cohn in no way playing the same teams Upperman is (Your one common opponent was White House who is in their region and beat them by 50 when Upperman beat them by 14). White house is not a good team. Pearl-Cohn beat CPA (Playing for the State Championship) and MBA who has wins over teams like Ensworth, Brentwood Academy, & Lipscomb Academy this year. You are definitely mistaken because PC lost to AC last year in the State Championship. What does Miami football have to do with Tennessee? Anyway I would bet you 1 million dollars that a lot of teams in Tennessee could beat South Miami High School Cobras, want to take that bet? I can agree we will definitely see Friday and don't think Upperman is a bad team just not as battle tested because of their schedule. Good Luck and Safe Travels to Burley!

  34. Nice to hear team work in this message, hats off to both these teams that have both proven themselves to be worthy to be where they are this time of year! I know they are D1 players on both sides, but being neutral here, I want to give a shout out to the water boys & girls, trainers, mgrs that make EVERY Friday night special & doable for these young men to play this great game they so love! Hats off to all the support staff on both sides!!!!!

  35. Bradley Central is a great story. The Bears have had a great season. No true BC fan is over-confident or cocky. Oakland is a proven Champion and BC fans, Coaches and our team has the utmost respect for the Patriots. We are proud of our guys and pulling for #12 to be healthy to give our team the best opportunity to win. The Bears will play hard and I believe it will be a very competitive game. I agree with another poster who mentioned some of the others guys…(the non- DI talents) those guys (both teams) work extremely hard and don’t get any press, but both Coaching staffs and fan bases realize the great value they provide to their respective teams. Much respect for the jobs these 2 teams and Coaches have done to make this game a reality.. this conversation (BC vs. Oakland) has been ongoing since the first poll came out in week 1.

  36. Best QB in Knox Co isn't banging down the door to come to Bearden. By every single metric Bearden was better throwing the ball in Parrot's 2nd year. This year, he went back to his freshmen year numbers. The "guru" simply isn't. Got Crawford in there so they could have a run game besides the inside zone which lead to him getting rid of his longtime friend and OL coach in favor of Crawford. Crawford then ran the offense and ran practice and all game planning from then on. This also isn't relevant to the other numbers that are all clearly average/below average.

  38. Without reading any of the stuff from the last several days, I hope the Tssaa takes a closer look at bands playing or artificial noise from the crowd while teams are running plays.I don’t have a problem with fans getting loud and a natural home field advantage like at Neyland, but last Friday night was classless and I’m certainly not a classy snob by any means. Funny thing is the Georgia pep band played the same junk before a snap but quit before UT ran a play. Yes , I’ve seen it many times at high school games , but the tssaa needs to go the way of the NCAA rules on this.

  39. The only game up until last Friday that I saw of ER was vs Monterey and they didn’t look like a final four team at all. Now vs Smith last week they certainly did. But so did York. They’ve been pretty much scoring at will in the playoffs. Should be a good game hopefully.

  41. Since u know everything about Putnam County, where does the Lady Cav coach live? and yes her kids if zoned would go to Baxter. Your hate and argument is baseless. Schools are schools play ball.

  42. Yes, Jeremy Boksins was hired as Athletic Director at TCCA and they went 8-2 in their 8 man football this year. Moving to 11 man soon. Their basketball program is killing it right now, already seeing players coming just for bball and they had a sell-out crowd for their game against Oak Hill last week. I hear they have a goal to be a sports school and compete with other private schools in that aspect. They'll be in their new 90 million facility and be TSSAA in 2025.

  44. Well, I wouldn't be making such a bold statement that Poore and DB has no chance to make it to state, before or after just one game. That just comes from pure hate. Not many thought they would win state two years ago and not many thought they would return to the tournament last year. DB beat Volunteer about like they should have. Poore is one of the top coaches in the state. Wait until after Christmas and see how things stand. Poore's teams usually turn it up a notch around that time.
