I watched most of the first half on the Gov Network which I speak highly of and wish Maryville would do the same especially today since games start at 7 and some away games are 60 plus miles away. This reminded me of two fat ladies in a mud wrestling contest with all the interceptions and penalties and I finally turned it off with a few minutes to go in the first half with WB leading 7-0. I came to a conclusion HVA couldn't stick their finger in their hind end so I turned it off and totally concentrated on the MHS and West game in front of me. I look at the halftime scores and in dis belief HVA had scored since the time I turned the thing off. I check again and HVA was ahead so I turned it back on and WB had just tied it up 15 all. I get to my car and HVA was ahead 22-15 with 3 or 4 minutes to go. My evaluation of the program is if all the top hats down there just love the humiliation and embarrassment this program is going through please by all means stay the course. The only thing they had going for them at WB was the middle school program until someone got a hold of that and spread the cancer even farther. When I watch them I see a bunch of good kids that have so much potential and it hurts coming so close in a lot of the games only to find their way into the losing side once again. Hopefully Mo East is in the same boat and WB can pull out a win then go into the off season and either plan to make changes or stay the same course expecting different results. This mess goes on farther back then the current coaching has been here. This program has the potential to change before it's to late and meets Heritage's doom which Nick Saben couldn't mustard out a win and just needs to go away.

New Word of the Day at William Blount is Ambition. Shad told his wife this morning all was just fine until the lady at the concession stand started her fussing Ambition with the Kingsport Fans wanting the season to hurry up an end.

I will say this is the weakest sp team in years, but they have better athletes than anyone in the east. They are still the favorite to get to the title game. Sp, Gordy and clay.

Congrats to Huntingdon, great game. Well deserved win, it was their night for sure, and great atmosphere in their stadium! Couple of takeaways from the game. 1. Huntingdon is the real deal. They totally dictated the tempo of the game. There were about 4-5 swing plays in this game and they won them all. Hats off. They were better last night. They are a serious threat to win state in 2A if they dictate like that. 2. A big reason Peabody had an off night was because their opponent was locked in but literally nothing went their way last night for the first time in a long time, and playing from behind the whole game changed the playbook completely. 3. I don’t always think losing is good for a team, but i really think Peabody losing this game might be better for them than if they won it. The streak was incredible but it really was becoming too much added pressure on the players and the coaches and in some ways maybe kept them from getting better. It might be the thing that gives them a reset and puts them over the top to compete for another title. 4. Great atmosphere, great game, both communities should be proud of their teams and congratulations to Huntingdon!

It’s crazy that the end of the regular season is here! These seniors have a varsity record of 31 wins and 7 losses. We appreciate it them so much! With a win, this would be Haywood’s first undefeated regular season in 26 years dating back to the 14-1 team of 94-95. The goal is to get to chatt and WIN IT. Let’s go Tomcats! i like Haywood by as many as we want!

Hey, we just get a chance to get excited about once every 30 years. We ain’t perennial powers like you fellas. You’ve gotta overlook our enthusiasm I guess. Several of these kids dads and uncles were on our ‘89 team that went 9-1 regular season and the ‘90 team that went 10-0 regular season. Since them days we’ve just beat Gordy in ‘91, ‘96, ‘03, ‘08, and ‘19. Time for another one.

The Blade Years are sort of my Oak Ridge Black Hole years. I had moved to Chattanooga, got married and threw myself in 100% to my teaching career at Woodmore Elementary. A typical Friday Night was staying to 7 PM to ready my classroom for the next week, having dinner with my wife at a Mexican Resturant then going straight to bed. I literally have no opinion on Blade. I did like Stevens but I knew he had to go. Who do I want as OR coach...? Gaddis Minor Maryville or Alcoa coach...HC or Assistand coach.

Week 11 Update What a wild week that was and now it comes down to this week, the final week of the regular season. Teams still undefeated None Games to watch Cherokee vs TN High Knox Central vs Knox West Campbell Co vs Oak Ridge Green Hill vs Mt Juliet Hillsboro vs Wilson Central Franklin Co vs Nolensville Portland vs Henry Co Munford vs Memphis Central. *=non region game Region 1 vs Region 2 Region 1 Daniel Boone gets the W against David Crockett for the region 1 championship. There is still one spot still up for grabs in the region. Cherokee can make this playoffs with a win over TN High. With a TN High win they would earn the 3rd seed. MoWest will be at best the 3 seed at worst the 4 seed. Daniel Boone is the 1 seed and Crockett is the 2. Region 2 Knox West had a non-region match up with Maryville, and Maryville did what Maryville does to most teams. Now West has to regroup for the Region Championship against rival Knox Central. Central is coming off a nice win over rival Knox Halls. Sevier Co will take 3rd with a win over Cocke Co. Cocke can still make the playoffs with a win and some help from Maryville Hertiage by bearing Knox Halls. Knox Halls would seal the 4th seed with a win. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Daniel Boone vs Halls Knox Central vs Mo West David Crockett vs Sevier Co Knox West vs TN High Region 3 vs 4 Region 3 Powell and Catholic put on a show in big non-region showdown with Catholic squeezing by Powell. Powell now has a tune-up game against Lenior City before the playoffs begin. Karns sealed the 2nd seed and has Clinton this week. The game to determine the 3rd and 4th seed between Oak Ridge and Campbell Co. Oak Ridge is coming off a tough loss to DB and Campbell is coming off a tough loss to Sevier Co. winner gets 3 seed and a trip to Athens loser gets the 4th seed and a trip to Evensville and the Golden Eagles. Region 4 Rhea Co pulled off one the biggest wins of the year with a thrilling win over previous unbeaten Bradley. Now Rhea has another non-region game against an improved Coffee Co team. McMinn got a nice non-region win against a good Loudon team. Now Mcminn will wrap up region play with Ooltewah. Ooltewah is coming off a 4 overtime win vs Brainerd. Walker Valley is a also wrapping up region play with Howard. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Powell vs Ooltewah McMinn Co vs Campbell Co Karns vs Walker Valley Rhea Co vs Oak Ridge Region 5 vs 6 Region 5 In one of the biggest surprises of the weekend Green Hill just manhandled Station Camp. Green Hill now turns it’s sights on a floundering Mt Juliet. Mt Juliet took a bad loss to Hillsboro. Mt Juliet however can turn things around with a win over Green Hill. With the win Hillsboro now climbs up to the 3rd seed and have a big matchup with Wilson Central. Wilson Central can make the playoffs with a win over Hillsboro on Friday. Hillsboro can seal the 3rd seed with a win. Region 6 Page took its first loss in non region play to Indy. Page is still set to be the 1 seed come playoff time. Page now has Lincoln Co this week. Columbia has cross county rival in Spring Hill. The matchup to watch in the region is between Franklin Co and Nolensville. Winner of this game gets the 3rd and loser gets the 4th seed. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Green Hill vs Franklin Co Columbia vs Mt Juliet Station Camp vs Nolensville Page vs Wilson Central Region 7 vs 8 Region 7 Springfield has all but locked up the region championship with a solid win over Portland. Springfield now looks to finish region play with a bad Northwest team. With the loss Portland tumbles all the way down to the 4th seed. Portland has a chance at redemption with a big game against Henry Co Friday. If Portland and Kenwood win then it will create a 3 way tie between Henry, Portland, and Kenwood. Kenwood would get the tie breaker with the greatest number of victories with 6. Portland would finish 3rd and Henry 4th. Region 8 Memphis Central took a loss to Christian Brothers, but now have Munford waiting in the region championship game on Friday. Munford handled Kingsbury with no problem. Dyer Co gets kingsbury to finish region play. Brighton has Southwind to wrap up region play. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Springfield vs Brighton Munford vs Kenwood Henry Co vs Dyer Co Memphis Central vs Portland

I knew it was somewhere around that time Huntingdon started playing football. The program‘s first season starts with 1930 season.

You felllows might check the AHSFHS site. Huntingdon page says 11 - 14. UC page says 16 - 11. UC claims victory from 1918 while Huntingdon says started playing fb in 1927.

1930 is when ours starts that when Huntingdon started playing football First year I see Huntingdon playing UC is 1979

We have the same thing in our program. Huntingdon 10 UC 11. Somebody’s program is off seven games

If what Coach Gilligan said is true that the 2 monster sized basketball players quit last week, Clay is going to to get torched by 4 tds or more. If the game is at gordy refs are going to turn their heads too.

I'm a observer of a lot in our area, from Whitwell, Jasper and SP. What I have seen is your lineman have grown up to work hard and be able to be at the point they are now. At first when I saw them as early player's I was like, there going to be so so, but I congratulate the coaching staff for instilling that fire in them to work hard and get better. That's what I like to see coaches do, not always the super athletic God given talented guys that don't need ton's of coaching, but when you see some guy's that have to work very hard to get to that point, well it's a compliment to those players for having the drive to get better and for the coaches believing in them. Believe me, I've seen alot of wasted talent stand on the sidelines thru this valley because some coaches told player's they just don't have it and never gave them a chance. I'll take hard work any day.

Trenton’s running back was the best runner Huntingdon has faced all year.

I just think Marion Co is hitting there stride and the stable of RB's is tremendous. You have 4 guys in there that can take it to the house on any play and that line is one of the best I've seen since the KC and The Sunshine Days. I know Meigs is a different animal all together, but I see Marion Co taking over this game and winning by 7-14.

Game could go either depending on who plays better, makes less mistakes, etc. Here is a little useless info...in 4 common region games Portland average score is 30-27. Henry Co average score is 36-16. Portland run defense appears to be a weakness. HC has a better balanced offense and Portland is much better running than passing. I predict 31-20 Patriots at home

Should be a good game. the fact the game is at HC plays a big role i think. I still don’t know how good P-Town really is. They upset SC, who beat MJ, but then got slaughtered by Springfield. Both teams whooped NW, and won a close game against NE. Portlands defense played much better against NE, while HC’s played better against Springfield. Basically, this game is probably a toss up, it’s anyones guess as to who wins.

Gordonsville beats Clay again.

Unfortunately, this doesn't make sense to me. I think Michael Odom just said a whole bunch of nothing. South Gibson has two region losses. Those games were to Haywood and to North Side. North Side only has one region loss. That game was to Haywood. North Side owns the tiebreaker over South Gibson because the Indians defeat the Hornets. Region 7-4A is set with Haywood, North Side, South Gibson, and Milan representing our region in the playoffs. I mean, am I missing something?

Can't wait to see how many total yards Davis had for RC. Got to be 350-400 total. What a player!

If McKenzie beats Fayetteville they will win state I think. That’s just my opinion. You can’t ever count out Peabody and coach Jacob’s. But Peabody won that game against that Memphis team you speak of because they didn’t give up! Don’t try and take that from those kids!
