  1. After seeing their scores with WB and Clinton, I’m beginning to think this thread is moot. I don’t think this game happens at all. We should start a thread AC or Elizabethton to see who plays Greeneville. I think Elizabethton beats AC this year.

  2. Giving up a lot of points again tonight. That defense looks very vunerable. Wonder what they’ll look like with three wideouts with a D1 scholarship and a QB with a D1 scholarship on the other side staring back at them? If WB and Clinton can score on that “great,” “championship” caliber defense, you better believe the Devils will put up some points. Oh, and that Devil D has still only given up 3 points all year.

  3. if mavs make it that far, the game will be at AC this year, but thats a big IF, seeing as their coach STILL has injury prone Martin in the game, in the 4th and still throwing up 4 touchdowns, no AC fan should ever open their donut mashers again about ballard supposedly playing in the third vs anyone

  4. Dearest Mother- I write to you on the eve of our impending battle. Captain Victory has trained his Band of Pirates for whatever we may face against Captain Fear Beard and his purple clad warriors. This epic rivalry is the greatest ever known in the history of all mankind. These battles will be told throughout generations to come. Till the Sun no longer shines upon the inhabitants of Mother Earth. I have been given a special charge by the Captain. I shall guard The Beene tonight from any attempted shenanigans from the outsiders. We have the place surrounded. The Flying Zucchini Brothers are doing 24 hour aerial surveillance along with D60 and his triangulated cameras. We are all in radio contact with the Drunken Sailor. Anyone that comes near the Beene without the express written consent of the Captain will be thrown into the stockade beside that Bass man who fell asleep on his very first watch. And is also rumored to be having a love affair with the Whitwells. Sweet Mother of mine, tomorrow the Earth will tremble and the ground shall shake as soon as the battle commences. But have no fear. We are led by Captain Victory and we shall come out on the other side victorious and set the Earth back on its axis.- Sergeant Southtowner

  8. I know they have probably improved, however lack of athletic ability cannot improve, sorry, big and slow won't get it done against the Stanks! I do believe Camden is solid and will have a winning season, that being said teams like Waverly amd Huntingdon are just to athletically gifted for them to hang with!!!

(exitedly raising my hand in class, yelling pick me pick me, i know the answer) a cow is a four legged farm animal that chews its cud and produces milk or beef for humans to eat and or drink depending on the type of cow. a maverick is a two legged farm animal that also chews its cud during football season and produces large amounts of "bull doody" in which AC fans step IN and Devil fans step OVER...generally around round 3. am i close?? anyone...... anyone

  18. I think Whitwell wins big and a note for all those that have never been to Signal Mtn, football field. Take you something for car sickness bc I never get sick in the car but going up there it was awful. So, Signal has that for an advantage, but that's the only advantage I see them having. Whitwell by at least 28.

  20. Nope! Lights are still as you left them. You'd think after winning a state championship in 2016, they would want to make more improvements but the only thing that gets done is what the QB Club is able to do & what McWherter money paid for.

  22. Everyone we play will focus on Givens, We MUST be able to spread the ball around. And, I think we need to be able to pass the ball, but we've not really try to establish a passing game yet. Watertown didn't have bad rushing numbers against TC. I was impressed by them limiting FC. I'm not sure about Lebanon. They only averaged less than 1.5 ypc against Mt. Juliet. I know that's a different level of competition, but a team could run a QB sneak every play and average more than that. As far as the support, I do like what our administration is doing to get the students at the game. They can pay 15 dollars and get in to all the jr. high and high school home games in football, volleyball, and basketball until after Christmas break.

  23. Watertown put up the most rushing yards against the jackets to this point with 24 carries for 140 yards, Lebanon I believe was in the 125 range with 72 coming on Crites TD run, and friendship had 31 carries for 79 yards, everyone knows what are weakness is and although we lost I thought other than 1 busted coverage, we played pretty good against a potent passing attack of Watertown

  24. I prefer not to mention names of players on here. Suffice it to say we can and will score alot of points though. You'll see what I mean on Friday night. You aren't going to beat us with just a quarterback and a wide receiver. I dont care how good they are. You'll have to be balanced and be able to run the ball to keep us honest. You'll have your big plays but we'll also get our stops and make some big defensive plays. You could argue that Waverly has had a higher tally of gifted athletes every year for the past 5 years but that hasn't translated into victories. Discipline, good coaching, and game planning can overcome alot. I'm glad we have gotten passed the pettiness and can discuss the game with civility. Good luck to you guys as well.

  27. I agree with you. But I believe “history has shown” if McConnell is down in a game, he is going to throw throw throw and throw some more. It’s definitely an obvious trend

  29. I thought in 2016 fairviews QB was just in the 10th grade and from what I heard he moved to reciever and they got a transfer that plays QB now? Idk I could be wrong. Everything you just said about waverly is the thruth no doubt about it. I do think its going to be a closer game than your prediction but I hope Im wrong. I dont think Huntingdon would score 60 on Fairviews D either. Our defense coach had his head up his butt the huntingdon game. Lets hope he got that thing out and is ready. Hopefully Matt has seen enough and has took it back over either way something has to be done. Waverly will score thats for sure but can we stop anybody besides camden? Thats yet to be seen. Thats also why I havent argued the fact about Peabody or CA! Tiger fan or not I call it how I see it!

  30. That's because the school administration cares about the football program at Huntingdon. Dresden's football is just a necessary evil for school administrators. If it wasn't for parents starting the QB club several years back the football team wouldn't have crap. Then throw in 90% of concession stand income going to rotary club and you get what you have. Don't get me started there. Unless they have changed the lighting for the field the electric company refused to change bulbs because the poles were so unsafe. You would think the club who has their name on the field would come up with the money to fix this stuff before they get someone killed. Blood pressure up now, dangit. Go Lions!!!!

  31. Good points STILLNUM1. The latest I have heard concerning Thompson was he was out for six weeks. His return will certainly be welcomed. Now concerning our very young OL/DL it seems to me they are being asked to do what they are capable to do and no more. It is a very smart game plan. Our guys aren't be asked to pancake opponents who outweigh them by 45 lbs. Our team speed is covering up some minor missteps the lines maybe making. You know what they say, speed kills. I won't pick a score this week but I BELIEVE in the character of the Wildcats. They have earned our respect and support. RWR!

  33. There was well more than 40 fans there. I was there. You can go back and look as I was posting then on game. I also stated that we was a few years from making some noise. Some of your posters ( I use that term loosely ) laughed but now that the Rockets are down they don’t post. Most don’t like yalls new field due to so far from the action. I myself prefer your old field to the one you have now. You can be closer to action at titans stadium than Chapel Hill field. And I’m no bandwagon fan

  37. RTD I think you have great insight on here. But people forget in 2012 and 2014 people were complaining that we lost 4 games in both those years. Heck I think friendship beat us 31-0 and Gordonsville beat us 42- 0 or 7 one of those years as well. But that did not mean Creasy couldn’t coach! But this is just an old farmer who is speaking my opinion.

  38. Max-preps has these state rankings for the two schools (without regard to classification) Covington - 25 Brighton - 171 I'm not sure how to get a point spread from their data, but you have to think Covington is a heavy favorite.

  41. Breakdown: From the 1970s until 2005, Farragut was only ever able to beat Oak Ridge 3 times. 1993 was the only year Gaddis lost to Farragut his first time at OR. From 2006-2011, Farragut won every contest. 2012-present, Neither team has been able to get a win on the road. 2012, OR won, 2013=Farragut, 2014=OR, 2015=Farragut, 2016=OR, 2017=Farragut. Farragut's only streak in the series came from 2006-2011 when they won 6 in a row. Since then, they have won every other one. To believe that the 2006-2011 streak hold any more importance than the 1983-1996 one is rather silly. The seniors for both teams were in 4th grade when Farragut was "winning every year." Since 2014, every kid who has graduated from either school holds a 2-2 record against the other. For the seniors at OR, Farragut leads their personal series 2-1. Also worth mentioning, Farragut won the 5A state championship in 2016. They went 14-1. Guess who gave them the one loss! There is no streak. This has become the best rivalry for either school of late. First---when Farragut finally started winning some, then when Oak Ridge got back on track. The only "streak" in play (if you want to call it one) is the home team winning. But here is the thing. It doesn't matter who wins. Does anyone think that Farragut's state championship run was in any way diminished by them losing to Oak Ridge? No. It wasn't. When Farragut blanked OR for the first time OR was shut out since 1993, did Oak Ridge roll over and give up? No--they won the next 8 straight. This is a fun game for both communities. It's a nonregional game. It's just bragging rights for either school---that has traded back and forth for 7 straight years. 2011=Farragut 2012=Oak Ridge 2013=Farragut 2014=Oak Ridge 2015=Farragut 2016=Oak Ridge 2017=Farragut 2018=? (I'm betting it'll be Oak Ridge... Call me crazy hahaha)

  42. I've learned a couple things in this thread. (1) There are no good players on this TC team aside from the starting Quarterback. (2) Friendship Christian, Lebanon and Watertown are all apparently on par with teams like Jackson County and Cascade. (3) Apparently #8 is also the Waterboy on defense as well. Because last year they held Watertown, Gordy, Westy, Cascade and Bledsoe County to a combined 18 points. Yet this year won't be good enough on defense to stop anybody the rest of the year. The bottom line is that people are overreacting. They are 1-2 against 3 of the 4 hard games on their schedule. They beat Friendship Christian who will once again challenge for a championship in their classification. They lost by 4 points to a 6A Lebanon team that is gonna win 7-8 games and go to the playoffs. They lost by 1 point to a Watertown team that is gonna have a great season as well. Both Lebanon and Watertown are much better than they were last year. Everybody knew that going into those games. And TC done so against them without the starting quarterback. If they win those two games they lost by a combined 5 points is the tune different? All you gotta do is attend the games to see how fickle some people are as you hear opinions go from we are gonna win a championship to the whole coaching staff needs to be fired just in one half of football. This is a very good football team. And they will roll over some people in these remaining 7 games. Its gonna be very funny to see if some of these people change their tune about how good this team is after they rattle off a couple big wins.
