Wow, we barely hung on. Great win for OR. Played unbelievable d in the first half, but Powell adjusted and found something running the ball in the second half. I was really impressed with our pass defense, minus that one pass to #2 that went for the score for Powell. Held their star receivers and Potts in check for most of the night, which was encouraging. No huge plays besides the one to #2. We were out gained quite a bit in the yardage department, but what matters is that final tally on the scoreboard, and have to give our guys credit for producing those turnovers and making something out of it. That’s what a good team does. What was not encouraging was how easily they ran the ball in the 2nd half though. What about that run by Kendall at the end? Talk about putting an exclamation on it. Great victory by OR, and great game to the Panthers. Powell has an incredible offense. A great HS football game.4 points

I hope so too, not sure what our future has in store as far as talent goes but I would like to continue a series that has gone down to the wire the last two games.2 points

Good to see OR win. Makes me think that loss wasn’t too bad. They seem to figure things out later in the season, which makes no sense considering they have the talent to be top 5 in 5a to begin with.2 points

Dearest Mother- Once more, your youngest son, who is of sound mind and strong body, picks up his coveted quill to put ink to parchment and bring you up to date on our latest excursions. You and Poppa will be tickled pink to know Captain Victory and his Band of Pirates went unscathed in our recent voyage to the land of the Red Tiger. The battle was a quick and decisive one which saw Captain Victory unleash the fully armed and operational Pirate BattleShip. The offensive onslaught was relentless with volley after volley raining down from the heavens upon the Red Tiger and the Whitwellian witnesses that had gathered for Homecoming. When Captain Victory gave the order to cease fire the land of the Red Tiger laid bare and was quite desolate. There might have been a few thorns and thistles left, but not much more. As soon as the campaign ended, I immediately ran and dove headfirst into the Sasquatch River, then proceeded to swim back to the friendly confines of The Beene. I had no sooner gotten there and started drying out when I caught a glimpse of Captain Victory with his Band of Pirates against the pale moonlit sky rounding the Horn of New Hope, going under the Rhinehart then into the Pirate Port of South Pittsburg. As Captain Victory and his staff of officers disembarked they headed straightway to the Situation Room where plans were drawn up and every detail thoroughly gone over for our next campaign. Up next is Corporal Cox leading his Black and Blue Creek Panthers. Corporal Cox is a direct descendant of Wally, the greatest Underdog who ever lived. He has marched his Creek Panthers from above the Scenic City and they have plans to invade The Beene. Yes, you heard me right, The Beene. Sweet Mother of mine, it has been four fortnights and a day since we last defended The Beene. Yes, it has been what seems like forever ago. But I must say, Corporal Cox is such a brave underdog. Yes, he is so much braver than Chief RunAndHides. There's a lot to be said for a leader that not only sends his men into battle, but one that will lead them into that battle right alongside them. For these campaigns are not for those that fear. And these campaigns are not for those that would run and hide. No, these campaigns are for those which seek honor and glory. One can not find honor and glory hiding out in the Fiery Gizzard. Therefore, we will never run and hide. Therefore, we will stand our ground and defend The Beene against any and all that comes forth. Yes, Captain Victory and his Band of Pirates when called upon will go forth and seek honor and glory even into other territories. But as for the next two fortnights, the Mighty Pirates with Captain Victory at the helm will be defending our own homestead. Yes, The Beene is our home and we shall defend it. We shall defend The Beene with every drop of blood, sweat and tears of every man, woman and child if necessary. So let the word go forth. Yes, let the word go forth that The Mighty Pirates have finally come home. They have docked at The Beene for the next two fortnights. And as cousin John D. sang many years ago, we sing now, 'Hey It's Good To Be Back Home Again'. Love to All- Sgt Southtowner2 points

Right now I would just put Elizabethton 1 and leave a couple of empty spaces and put SH 4 and DB 5 and call it a semi NET top 5 poll1 point
-
Yep. The funny thing is when Clark retired (finally) Shawn Witten practically begged for the job and DB would barely talk to him. Now he is without question the best coach in upper east tn., with one state championship and headed for another.1 point

Or the coaches. This guy is awesome behind a screen but a donkey butt anywhere else. Cornersville would destroy chapel hill. If any of you dogs want to know who this punk is hes the fat guy that gets 3 hot dogs and heads to the press box before the games.1 point

It’s definitely real, but in colleges why make a kid go quarantine at home, and make the roommate or peer go back home and possibly spread it to others at home? Or other cases why make someone who isn’t feeling bad and has had limited interaction stay home 14 days even with testing negative ? Im glad to see people doing their most to limit this virus. I believe for some have done the best they can to slow the spread. Losing a season because 1 guy tests positive is ludicrous1 point
-
I know people who have died and I still think the quarantine protocols are ridiculous. If your aren’t showing symptoms within 5 days you aren’t getting sick.1 point

they are coached by Stacy Carter, not too surprising1 point

Turn the subtitles on and see how many words it misses when BigPun Pancho is talking. He will say Brock, Brock (our kicker) and the subtitle will type bra, bra. Hilarious.1 point

And I know too many people who have died or have loved ones who have died from this virus to see this BS posted on here. I appreciate everyone who is taking this thing seriously and taking the right precautions. Even if they might be overkill from time to time. I'm so sick of seeing this nonsense trying to make it a political thing when people are literally dying everyday.1 point

Johns is more responsible for the 12-1 year than any other coach. He knows the game and knows how to coach. @Salem might disagree but that's my take. Eli blew it their junior year and almost blew it their senior year. They squeaked by Summertown and Lewis. He botched playcalling in the Riverside game. His decision making and clock management in games is baffling and the kids either show up flat (Community, Eagleville), or cant finish (Portland) or both (Moore). Other than that he is killing it.1 point

I am seriously impressed with those kids. Especially Martino. They are well mannered, hard working and focused on a common goal. Awesome representatives of your school and community. Many props!!1 point

Yes, we need to hide them away until football season is over. Better now than the playoffs. It is going to happen to someone in the playoffs and that is terrible. I truly hate for any school to have to go out that way. I hope the 2021 season is different.1 point

Those eastern regions provide enough flexibility that it doesn't make a ton of sense to have region 1 with 7 and 3 with 5. There are various options, but I think I'd do the below, which would minimize teams having to cross Knoxville east-west on Friday evenings. Region 1 - Cherokee, Boone, Crockett, Mo West, TN High, West Ridge Region 2 - Cocke Co, Sevier Co, Heritage, West, Central, Halls Region 3 - Campbell Co, Clinton, Oak Ridge, Powell, Karns, Lenoir City That doesn't keep the Knoxville schools all together, but it doesn't give any of them bad drives. Cocke County is the only school that'd have a really big change from your list, but the drives are actually shorter for them on the whole.1 point
-
With those two back it gives them some depth at the position and lets Liam play his normal receiver position. They were able to move it some both running and passing (just need to stay away from the long passes, it sorta becomes a 50/50 pass at that point) SD has a good defense, we'll take what we got! It will be interesting to see how they (SD) fair at Powell next Friday.1 point

Safe travels! Trees starting to turn so should be a beautiful drive....just coast down from Monteagle and enjoy the view!1 point

Watching the game closely with interest from Middle Tennessee. Always admired Milan and the team that takes the field Friday nights. Should be a great game and can't wait to see how it plays out.1 point

I must say, it’s been a hot minute since I have played, but I always believed playing defensive back, has to be one of the hardest positions to play outside of OL. I just think for whatever reason historically we don’t have guys that cover well. I said the other day, at this point it isn’t coaching. We’ve established that the coaches we have are qualified and have experience. We just don’t have the dudes back there. I wish guys like Malik and DBO could have been coached by Teddy, that would have been fun to see.1 point

I'll take a stab: Region 1 - Cherokee, Cocke Co, Boone, Crockett, Mo West, TN High, West Ridge Region 2 - West, Central, Halls, Sevier Co, Karns, Powell Region 3 - Oak Ridge, Clinton, Campbell Co, Heritage, Lenoir City Region 4 - Rhea Co, McMinn Co, Walker Valley, Ooltewah, Howard, White Co* (if they decide to play a region schedule) Region 5 - Franklin Co, Columbia, Nolensville, Spring Hill, Lincoln Co, Page Region 6 - Wilson Central, Hunters Lane, Station Camp, Hillsboro, Mt Juliet, Green Hill, Portland Region 7 - Clarksville NW, Clarksville NW, Henry Co, Kenwood, Springfield, Dyer Co Region 8 - Southwind, Memphis Central, Kingsbury, Overton, Brighton, Munford Not sure if we'll see any schools move up, Anderson County would make a great fit in Region 3. Any of the other Knox 4A schools could fill in Regions 2 or 3. EDIT - Not sure if Portland ends up in Region 6 or 7.1 point
