  1. I’ve never wanted East Nashville to win a game so badly before in my life. Go Eagles!

  2. This is a Fayetteville/ McKenzie thread. MASE better be thinking about a very good, very physical Peabody team.

  3. Our players are so little though, so when they threw punches they went over our heads. The “little Jackets” is the new name for our D. Munford is the dirtiest team I have seen in a while

  4. Tyner gpt the win tonight. Give them credit. Westmoreland needed to play a perfect game with some help from Tyner. It didnt hapoen. But one game doesn't diminish the big strides this core group of Seniors made this year. We improved from 3 wins last year to 7 this year with a first round home playoff win. More importantly i think these guys laid the ground work in showing the underclassmen what it takes to win. Especially proud of my grand son Kam Eden #14. He had a great year at QB and corner back. He had 1000+ yards rushing with 15 TDs and 8 TD passes running a wing T offense. He also had 3 interceptions at corner and some notable "big hits". Most proud of his character, he has heard me make comments about play calling, offensive scheme etc. that i didnt like but the young man has reminded me that instead of complaining about things, do your best to make them better. I know he's hurting right now but well done son, you made yourself into a ball player

  5. Most NFHS broadcasts are nothing more than an automated camera with a ball following technology and only ambient crowd noise. You get no commentary, no scores from other games, no replays, no nothing that warrants the price that NFHS charges on a monthly basis. If the NFHS camera is not hooked up to wifi or ethernet with proper upload speeds, you get frozen pictures or the inability to log on at all. Personally, I work for a broadcasting company that produces TCA football and basketball. Most every football game is at least a two camera production, with a two man commentary team and featuring coaches pre and post game interviews, accurate stats on the go, an area contest scoreboard throughout the game, and other features. I promise my broadcast is far superior to ANY NFHS broadcast anywhere. There are many other schools, radio stations, and production companies that will blow NFHS out of the water. I also have my own small production company that I produce MS broadcasts on as a one man operation where I am doing the video taping, on going stats and commentary as a one man band. It is not very expensive at all to start a bare bones broadcasting operation using Facebook as your broadcast platform. None of it involves the viewer paying a monthly fee. Selling ad time is the way to go. If you are a viewing fan, I urge you to cancel your NFHS subscription. Call your local school and urge them to start there own productions or hire a media company to video for you. Any video broadcast is better than an NFHS broadcast. Come on TSSAA, dump the NFHS and let the local schools and production companies do it better. it is amazing what you can do with proper upload bandwidth speeds.

  6. Question for the Haywood faithful; having come right by Haywood’s stadium on my way to Munford last night, why can’t/couldn’t the Haywood county officials put some of that Covid money most counties got toward a nicer facility for the Tomcats? Having driven over to Tipton County and seeing the nice turf fields at Brighton and then Munford, the Haywood teams deserve something like that too. The caliber of teams you guys continually put out deserve it too. I don’t mean to knock any Haywood County officials, it was just a thought that popped in my head on the way home last night.

  7. They can be beat at home. My Jackets did it in 2017 in round 2 after trailing 14-0 at half. They have a nice, traditional stadium. Good football atmosphere too. I think PC gets it done.

  8. They call it the “Maryville” rule. Several years ago Maryville won like 100 games in a row or some ridiculous number like that. And they never had to play on the road in the playoffs. That when they changed it from overall record.

  9. The bracket rotates as far as hosting. It ensure that when like seeds meet that it isn’t always at the same location. In even number years (2022 for example) the lower part of the bracket would host. In odd years like 2023 the upper part would host. So if this was next year Lexington would have to come to you.

  10. The Tigers are very good at what they do but at some point, they'll have to add another dimension to their offense if they want to keep advancing. There have been run only teams win state championships before, but even they ran a misdirection offense, not just line up and snap it to our best athlete and let him find room. I'm old school...I love watching a good passing attack, but if you can run and play defense you will usually win. I think the Tigers can defend against Pearl Cohn enough to have a shot, but not sure that the Firebirds will allow a one-dimensional offense to put up enough points to keep up.

  12. I don’t think anybody hates kids if they do they got a problem. I think people have a problem with how the TSSAA let’s things go in Memphis. No way they would let these small schools in rural areas join teams and move down a class. Be like west view and Dresden joined teams and stayed 1A but all other non football students from Westview went to Union City Greenfield etc.. TSSAA would never allow that to happen here - but they let it go in Memphis. Facts. Nothing to do with kids though

  13. Good win all they had to do was ask us Haywood fans I would have told them it won't be easy. Good luck next game

  14. Good gameplan by Lexington! I agree with a few others, MC couldn’t stop the run. VERY unorthodox style of play, but whatever works, WORKS… right!!! Good luck to Lexington the rest of the way out, but I’ll be pulling for our region brother Pearl next week.

  15. So it begins [Insert pic of King Theoden] AC has been resilient this year. They have shown the ability to run or pass. They're thin on the line but still healthy. Lots of weapons. I would have liked to see Andrew Meyer get a couple carries. He's got a quick burst in contrast to Moog and Noe. A good change up if you will. AC has struggled this year against a QB who can extend plays with his legs and deliver the ball. That alone was what kept Elizabethton in this game. GV is tough. The defense is solid this year. What makes GV so hard to beat is that they have athletes everywhere. There's really no weakness. They might not be great in some areas but they ain't bad anywhere. The D line for AC played well tonight. At one point Elizabethton had negative 10 yards rushing close to halftime. Of course they made some adjustments and got some stuff going but overall AC won the line of scrimmage tonight pretty decidedly. The LBs for AC also tackled down hill all night. Props to them. GV will need to throw some. Ac does a decent job getting to the qb but often doesn't finish. Unless the qb is a statue that is. There's more but based on what I've seen I think GV is between 1-3 scores better than AC. AC will need a good start and to find something that works. Can they duplicate the running game they had tonight? If so, it could be a ball game. AC will need to play mistake free ball and get a break or two to win IMO. Lastly. To those who say it's all for nothing of AC doesn't get a gold ball this year. That's your ego talking. I don't tie my sense of self worth to what a bunch of HS kids do on Friday nights. It's about competing. If you lose with full effort, that's nothing to be ashamed of. That's life. Always try to be the best version of yourself you can be, no matter where that lands on a scale. Good luck to both teams. I hope for a full effort clean game with no injuries.

  16. I guess because it is the playoffs, lipscomb can't live stream their game and I have to watch on NFHS. it keeps cutting out and is terrible. if TSSAA requires this, they need to stop. lots of schools have great streaming on their own and this is a huge step backwards. im staring at a spinning wheel...

  21. I'm an Obion County alum but live in Martin and have a kid on Westviews basketball team. Also own property in UC and work in Obion County. I really wanna pull for UC here but fans like yourself make that really difficult. All that is irrelevant anyways because I beleive Huntingdon wins this game in greater fashion than they won in UC.

  24. I would expect this game to be the closest of all the quarterfinals. CR impressed me with their defense speed. It’s was like they had 15 guys over there. Beech will play a ball control, time management game and try to be in possession for the final drive/score. If its close, I’ll take Beech. If it’s high scoring, I’ll take CR.

  26. Coach Joe Gaddis - Oak Ridge High School...First year as an AD but has made decisions that positively affect the athletes, coaches and Oak Ridge fans world wide. Athletes and Coaches.... Coach Gaddis is in a few Hall of Fames and is a State Championship Coach. Yet, with those accomplishments he has stayed out of coaching the Wildcats. He allows current ORHS Coach Scott Cummings free reign over the program. This has allowed Coach Cummings to build a Football family of his making. Gaddis' hands off approach also makes it easier for the players to know who the Head Coach is. THE Wildcat Family World Wide...Coach Gaddis has given the Voice of the Wildcats David Clary and Crew the ability to stream all Wildcats games ( baseball, football and basketball ). This means a former ORHS student serving in the Military all over the world can maintane a bit of home. Plus, the elder population who can't attend games can still be a part of Wildcat Universe.

  27. i agree. probably a pick ‘em. BB already said it but i think it comes down to the defenses. More specifically Beech pass defense vs the CR run defense. Who can make the stops when it matters. I think Beech is too physical but wouldn’t be shocked if CR pulled it out. Should be fireworks!

  28. Bro you are wasting your breath , we don’t need his validation. He gets his kicks by trolling people on a high school football board. You know what they say about arguing with fools so let it go. I don’t need him to admit he was wrong I was there lol I saw the hush over their crowd late in the 4th when we cut it to a 6 point lead.

  30. How did pointing out your years of infatuation with Alcoa lead you to believe I was frightened of eagleton?
    1 point
  31. I agree. It’s been a big problem all year. Maybe getting worse. Last night was pathetic at times because there was a flag on every other play. But i must say that the officiating was very poor. They seemed to be looking for any possible reason to grab the hanky. Once one flag flew they all joined in like lemmings diving off a cliff. I sorta think they were getting off on their 2mins of being the center of attention and listening to the announcements. Yes call obvious penalties but sometimes you just gotta let the kids play ball.

  32. I'm with you on that part of it...the officials should be punished in some way, as well as the coach. Kids are kids, it's the responsibility of the adults to guide and mold them, and all that they learned last night was that it's ok to resort to that kind of behavior when you're put in a difficult situation.

  33. Congrats to Springfield. I had posted early in this thread my impression of Munford. I said at the time I didn’t know zip about Springfield. You guys evidently have a very solid team. Best wishes going forward in the playoffs.

  34. It was a VERY close game. It was 42-36 with under 5 minutes to play. I never said it was a historic season. Nolensville gave up about 600 yards rushing. Pee wee defense. Lol.

  36. That was a LLLLooooonnnnggggg trip up there, but so bitter sweet on the bus ride back. After a 5 minute nap, you wake up and remember what you just accomplished....You're in a daze....One of the biggest wins in Monterey History. In all honesty, we were probably better last year than this year, the hunger after that defeat was still bitter in Monterey's mouth for one whole year. Let me tell you about Monterey's boys, just a bunch of Small-town kids who would go through a wall for their Coach. HE believes in them! Watch out Jamestown/Fentress County little ole Monterey is Coming for you, that loss 7 or 8 weeks ago is still bitter too.

  37. Heard the zebras were from Knoxville, if so that explains the bad calls, those guys from the Knoxville league are known to be awful. These are supposed to be the best , sure missed the mark inAthens last night. On a better thought Brandin Hayward #13 blocked the last field goal with his head. Actually the ball hit him in the helmet.

  40. The depth and numbers of Gordonsville are obviously huge strengths in this game. Clay has 8 guys that play basically every snap of the game. We saw that play a role in Gordonsville’s last possession in the prior game, when they drove the field with the run game before stalling at the 4 with the personal foul call that backed them up to the 19. We saw the same thing factor into the playoff win at Turney Ford in 2020 when the Tigers drove the field with Holt packing the pigskin on virtually every play to win the game. That being said, this is the Dawgs year. 8 guys playing every snap or not, the Black and Gold get it done!

  44. Our line was just so small this year and we can't throw the ball, Even Unaka dwarf's our line. Big strong team that can put 11 in there and blitz um all makes it tough to run. This team actually overachieved. We played hard until the QB broke the long one, after that they were running through thin air. All said and done Congrats to a Bigger stronger team that wanted it more, was very good sports and played hard with class. Hope you guys get you another one next week.
