  2. "Rams" have a couple of basketball players on the team as well..one of them is a captain. As a matter of fact, I can't remember when we didn't have a BB player. Good athletes..I think it makes them tougher!!

  6. What a game! Two big time small town football programs. A seasons worth of big plays. Two extremely talented QB's. Stadium full of gorgeous women! Haven't seen any stats. The total yardage is probably higher than I can count. I'm football smart but that's about it. Mustangs are good. #11 and # 37 are going to be sore in the morning. Both are real competitors. Mustangs still undefeated on our turf. I think both teams have a lot of mutual respect now.

  11. Greeneville's offense puts up crazy numbers and gets all the attention. But their defense is nasty. Their front 7 is stout, and i don't see any team being able to run the ball consistently against them. And that is what wins gold balls.

  20. I watched the film and the Stangs D smothered McKenzie run game and it didn't look like they had much of a passing game. You will definitely see a different O tonight and I think you will see a different D than we had last year. I think it'll be a dangerous good game Tigers 38 Stangs 28

  22. Cornersville will def come out hot. They have a bad taste in their mouths. But Eagleville is good and Cobb is VERY good. I still say 1 score game either way. Good luck to both sides. Best game around tonight. Safe travels folks.

I cant imagine a very big crowd tonight, with Oakland in town playing Maryville, but Stanton is worth the price of admission, he threw for @400 and ran for @200 on blount seem like last year.. Pregame at 7:00 hopefully my tech will be able to get the stream going tonight truthradio.tv if you are in Maryville you can take your headset into the Mhs game and listen on AM1470

  32. The should be a fun game. In all honesty, it doesn't really matter who wins this game. This is, more then likely, just round one. If all goes as expected, the second round will be in the semi-finals at Oakland (if i'm right about the alternate year thing). Maryville's little young ones can use this as a practice, the game after Thanksgiving Day is the one that counts!

  36. You failed to put in the embarrassing loses Greeneville put on Fulton as well. 2012 was after losing a huge senior class with two titles and a runner up. The same case could be made by Fulton as far as losing the last few years. Your just another Greeneville hater lol and btw 13-7 loss in a scrimmage in which qbs are not live? Come on dude we all know how scrimmages are. You act like it was 42-0

  37. 41-6 then in playoffs I believe 34-10...Just remember many on team were disappointing after 2nd meeting cause everyone wanted to beat them worse than first meeting because they said we sharpened our chin strap snaps. This was the first year they really started to improve. Their 98 team had much more talent than their 96 team that went undefeated in regular season. Then their 99 team was probably the 2nd best team in state that year besides us.

  38. When I was in school we played Middlesboro,Ky and remember looking at their schedule in the locker room in their school and saw Knox Central being one of their games. When we got home I was looking at the schedule for our Knox Central and Middlesboro wasn't on their schedule. I didn't know at the time there was two of them. We didn't have a google to look things up like that in those days. The one thing I did learn from that game was if you cross the state line to play a football game you will get screwed and I'm pretty sure Alcoa figured that one out last year.

  40. Ok here is what I found out so far...McCallie and Baylor have the oldest rivalry starting in 1905. They have played 85 games and this years game will be the 51st in a row. They have met three times in the playoffs during that stretch. Father Ryan and MBA would have had the longest streak in a row but they stopped for two seasons in the 90's. Now that Goodpasture and Lipscomb are the same Division they could possibly catch McCallie and Baylor because of playoffs. However McCallie and Baylor could play in the playoffs too. If anybody has any more info on Memphis or Knoxville area private school rivalries I would like to start a list of games played. The McCallie vs Baylor rivalry sounds like a great ballgame to attend and so far has the longest consecutive streak.

  41. You are missing my point. It is not about the wrestler or their talent level, its about the team, coach, and room they are stepping into. In youth they have the ability to travel and choose all of the above, once you enter a high school room, those options are severely limited for the most part. For example, I agree that Sammy is top level talent but, with all due respect, Rossview has not proven to me yet that they can foster a freshman State Champion. Especially if he is at 120 or higher. There are so many factors that go into a championship that are out of ones control in the high school room. The quality of your practice partner is one of those variables that an individual cannot control. Maybe Shires will have a room full of studs to push him to the limit each day but if so, I haven't seen them around Rossview. Another example is Braden Ivey. I have only watched this kid a few times, but he is very good. Unfortunately he is stepping into a room (assuming he is at Jefferson Co?) that absolutely does not have the talent to push him to be better. He and McDaniel were very close a few years ago, my money now says McDaniel techs him. And McDaniel is only going to grow further and faster while kids like Ivy, at no fault of their own, will stagnate in a non-competitive room. Rooms like those at Beech where Noah had Palmer and Bates had Noah and they all had each other to push them to be better each day, those are the programs that can foster a freshman state champ. That being said, if it can be done, 106 and 113 are the best opportunities.

  43. If being a bigger school brings more quality depth then Central should have easily beat Tellico at least once in three tries. You mentioned a couple weeks ago how well Central did in scrimmages but now you say scrimmages mean nothing? McMinn started subbing earlier than Central did and on their last drive there weren't any starters in on offense other than their qb. He ran a qb sneak just to get a first down and maintain possession but Central's defense opened up like Moses parting the Red Sea so he took it 85 yards to the house. As infamousfootballfan said, optimism needs to be coupled with realism. You may not notice it but at times your comments tend to leave out the realistic part, but I understand that can be easy to do. I never questioned anything about the Central kids not being good. I know several of them. I do question the heart of some of them who only do what they have to do in practice and don't prepare on their own. I lay most of the blame of that on some of the coaches though because some of them don't put out the effort themselves or demand more from themselves or the players. If all the kids had the drive your son does then Central would be a better team, but the coaches don't challenge them to raise the bar. I really do hope I'm proven wrong but 2 wins is all I see and that's not a guarantee.

  45. I despise the new rule. Teams gunning for 9 rather than emptying the bench. It doesn't get reserves the playing time they need.
