The living legend grider has got out coached the last 3 times he has faced greenback. I will admit that as a whole unit south Pitt had the upper hand in total talent. But that sweep left and sweep right will eventually get stopped against good teams. If he is the greatest coach ever why are you guys not a balanced team. With those kind of athletes you should throw for 200 and rush for 200 every game. Do any of you ever wonder how many gold balls you might have won the past 10 years if you had a coach who could draw up more than five plays

Your facts on Maupin are wrong. Cade would have started at DB, just not at the position he wanted. The funny thing is, he is playing exactly where he would have if he had stayed at DB. We are happy for the young man, especially since Elizabethton has done so well. I may not speak for all DB Fans, but for the majority we wish nothing but the best for Cade and the Cyclones. Go win State!!!

D60 i just watched some footage of the last few plays and in all honesty NO ONE should say or post one negative comment on these threads.PRAISE is all that needs to be.To see each team go thru the emotions of thinking it was almost over is truly heart breaking!This is the most emotional game i have ever watched.I ask all of you to watch if you can and see HOW bad each kid wanted this game.My hat is off to your kids effort and our own.If there was a better game in the state of Tenn send me the film!!!

A very nice win for the Rebels. It was " A " win not " THE " win. That comes next Saturday against Ravenwood which I saw on Twitter is " loaded with prospects. " I like Maryville's prospects, hard workers, smart, tough, dedicated to winning and PROUD to wear the Rebel uniform over Reggie Grimes and Co. Work your butts off players and enjoy the ride Rebel fans. So many people wish they could be in your shoes. RWR!

Lost to a better , bigger, stronger, team. Plain and simple. Refs were a non factor, coach swenson opened The playbook and did all he could. The other team was just better. So proud to see both teams hugging each other after the game. This game was fought hard on both sides. To our seniors, thanks for a great season, you will be missed! Shame on you for blabbing one kid for the loss. ... Yes 3 fumbles hurt... But so did the block in the back in the kickoff return for a touchdown, so did the 2 - 80 yard touchdowns on the first play of the drives. So did the interception. We lost due to several reasons. Snyder is the real deal. The coach is the real deal. The entire falcons team is the real deal. Great atmosphere for both sides tonight. Best national anthem I've ever heard. It was a great night for football. Lastly, if the rumors are true and this truly is the end of the swenson era, I say THANK YOU!,, you have served us well and it will be a shame if you are coaching else where due to the ignorance of some spoiled fans we have. Gotcha. Well, I will say, I have seen LC up close and personal the last two seasons. I know these seniors have been on the team the last two years, just don't remember them being this big and fast. This game will be a dandy and can't wait to watch it. Unfortunately for me, it will be from the stands instead of the pressbox this year.

If Lake County blocks LC will score at will. The team with the most stops at the end of the game will win and I really think alot of people are going to be surprised.

Hampton doesn't apply to your "too afraid to play Eliz" comment... We've scheduled DC, GP and others just to get games. Scrimmaged TH and others just to get practice. Fact: Been times, in recent past, that Eliz couldn't get their schedule to work out to play us in FB...And it was Eliz that backed out of playing us in basketball and haven't scheduled us since '15. With that said, I have no ill will towards Eliz and most in my neck of the woods don't either. Ive heard rumors about comments made by coaches concerning our facilities, uniforms, etc but In '16, Witten was very good to one of my boys leading up to the East-West game, and that told me alot about his character...BTW, Did you see the number of Hampton players there supporting Eliz last night? Sure didn't see that kind of support when Hampton played in the semis a few years ago. But now, just like then, I couldn't care less! There's bigger things to be concerned with in this life...fear of Elizabethton ain't one of em. Maupin has been at church and seems to be a good young man. I know Colby is as his family has been close friends for years; Parker is close to us also. The Streseman family; very close friends and Carson is a BEAST and fun to watch! So, I wish the best for these young men and the young men they have chosen to play with. Elizabethton has the pieces and hope they play well and stay healthy!

I am going to be honest with you, what Springfield has cant be quantified, great coaching, a lot of grit, and just a will to win. On film we will not wow anyone, however we get it done, we beat a very very good team last night, no one picked us outside of our own fans and we pretty much expect the same thing this week. Haywood lost 1 game to Miss. powerhouse Olive Branch while also beating 5A power Henry Co., go watch some of their games online, very big, fast, impressive athletes. Our coaches will have us prepared as possible and we will give it all we got...

Absolutely agree here! very trashy to call a player by name. That same player hadn't fumbled much all year. How would you feel if you were a parent of that kid and someone said something of that nature like you did. I think i know the answer to that! Back to the game, Lake Co earned it! They deserve to go to Cookeville. Huntingdon had there chances after stopping them 3 straight series and had the ball inside Lake territory all those times, You simply have to capitalize against a good team like Lake Co. I think all will agree with this post. Again, coming from a Huntingdon fan

Tell ya what, fellas, Coach Wilson has done a heck of a Coaching job this year. After the loss to Marshall County I didn't see this as a possibility. He's a great Coach and he loves his program!

Springfield fan here, not saying you brought it up, but I don't this thread to turn into one of those "privates vs public" types of threads, not saying anyone is private, just an example, so Jacket's fans knock off the Carter co bs, there are no excuses, if they beat us it's because they were the better team and we will congratulate them and I trust they will do the same for us if we win. Congrats to both teams and let's both enjoy the process!

I don’t have a problem at all with calls - several calls helped both teams. Without a doubt both teams met their match and left it in the field. That one point loss hurt but we’ll get over it. It was nice meeting the Greenback T boys last night - not a bad apple in the bunch. Good luck in Cookeville.

This is just not true! I am a parent of a SP player and you can see in your video players shaking hands. Yes, some of young men were distraught and emotional! Fans from both sides flooded the field and coaches along with officers separated them quickly! I’ve taught my kids that in any sport you win and lose with dignity! Do not ever say I should be ashamed of my son! This post ruins what was a game fought hard by both teams! Congratulations on the win...horrible decision to falsely accuse a team of poor sportsmanship!

Y'all don't need to come back to Alcoa until you're serious about competing. I say that to your coaches, not the players. They are horrible playcallers. I realize your team was outmatched from the first play, but that playcalling was so predictable and vanilla. No excuses. I know Jeff Harig is a better coach than that. He should have also put a muzzle on all the social media chatter his team was putting out there because it hurt them big time tonight. 13-1 is nothing to be ashamed of, but I feel like the moment was too big for the coaches. It doesn't help when you don't schedule quality competition during the year. Alcoa plays above their classification year in and year out non-district. Loudon plays down 2 classifications to start the year and doesn't do much more until the playoffs.

No doubt, Coach Wilson is a great coach. That being said, IMHO, this season is BY FAR the best job he has ever done. This team was expected by many to go to the playoffs and possibly win one game. Very few people expected them to advance past rd2 of the playoffs and virtually no one expected them to beat Hardin Co, much less Haywood. And yet, here they are again with a chance to win a state championship. Go Jackets!!!

Betsy plays within the rules of their county (open zone) and Springfield plays within the rules of their county (closed zone). Are these anywhere close to equal? Not even close! Yes, a county kid in Carter Co can pay $300 and go to the school of his choice (what parent of a good athlete couldn't come up with $300 for their kid to be on a good team). Yes, you're correct, several teams playing this weekend will be open zoned schools and a few aren't (which to me makes their run that much more impressive). Most good coaches aren't on the T during the week, they are breaking down film and installing a gameplan for the next opponent. The so-called advantage of being here before was two yrs ago. This is a totally different team. This teams seniors were sophomores who probably didnt contribute very much that season. That being said, I like your teams advantage over my teams "advantage". I just hope the Jackets can keep it close next Saturday. If we keep it close and can stay within a score or 2, I like our chances. Go Jackets!!!

PC beat us last night but I wasn’t that impressed . Besides a couple big plays and kickoff return for TD they did nothing but punt. We turned it over twice deep in their territory which I know is part of the game. I think we would have given Alcoa closer game than PC simply because of the style of ball we play . Alcoa wins BIg!!

Sure wish we could get on Amazon and order up a bunch of D1 talent like some schools do.
