This has bothered me tonight. Apparently Greenback suffers from the same geographical problem that Meigs does, but did anyone notice any news/press crews outside of local papers? These two teams are ranked in the top 5 of their classifications, playing in an awesome environment in front of a packed house and there were zero news Crews there to report the game from Chattanooga or Knoxville? Can’t even send a cameraman to shoot a few highlights? There were plenty! Greenback has a couple players with power 5 offers, Meigs has a Mr Football winner that has committed to the naval academy, and they’re just going to be a box score. These teams have combined to go 75-9 over the past three years and all you’ll get to do is read the stat line. That’s downright sorry in my opinion. Missed a great opportunity to report on what was by far the best matchup on this side of the state, ESPECIALLY in the smaller classifications.7 points

It's time for the Wildcats to step up and take the first region game of the season! There's no time to dwell on the past only time to prepare for the future. The time is now! RWR!2 points

I'm looking forward to Meigs County coming to Beene Stadium. I hope between now and then we will improve ourselves so we can give everyone in attendance and those watching from afar a game such as the one I saw last night.2 points

HC played 2 very good teams in the 1st 2 games, they may be 0-2 but they are not down... HC by at least 212 points

I can't believe Swafford ran it 32 times. His body won't last for college if this keeps up.2 points

Saw Haywood in action a couple weeks back. This team is scary good. Size, Speed, and athleticism everywhere. Many of their kids looked as if they could put an SEC jersey on today and play the part. In years past, they've had teams that looked great on paper and the coaching hurt the outcome. Not, this year, their playbook and execution look on Que. This team could be the best in West TN regardless of classification. Just my opinion.2 points

Not stirring nothing. This was explained last year. Take it how you want it. We are not the only coop school by far in metro. Y'all say pick and choose but it ain't no pick and choosing with 98% would rather be placed in a spelling b then play football. Ask me how many MLK kids play or start this year? 1 starts and he's the long snapper. He's 1 of our 4 seniors on the team. How many MLK kids on the team this year? 6-7 kids who some dont come daily. Even when mlk was cooping with hillsboro we still played up and was winning "shrugs"2 points

I know this will stir the hornets nest, but....PC pretty much is a 6A school as far as students to pull from because they pull from multiple schools. They utilize the enrollment from PC High to classify as 3A but are able to get students from another high school with similar enrollment without a football program. JS2 points

There were a couple missed calls on both sides tonight. But all in all it was a very entertaining game. In the end I believe the best team won. Greenback seemed to wear down a bit, especially in the trenches. Hats off to Swafford on a very good game. The kid is a hoss. Best player on the field to me moreso because I think their coach realizes this is his team and that's who leads the way. Greenback on the other hand missed several opportunities to get Willis the ball. Some drives his number was rarely called. I thought Greenback should have tried to establish some semblance of a running game even with their QB because a few times more than not he should have tucked the ball and ran. All in all a well played game. Very much worth the drive and price of admission. I wanna thank the fine folks of Decatur for hosting a great game and putting up with some of us scallywags.2 points

Yes and I hate playing in that region . The only bright spot is playing SP in playoffs. I like that rivalry.1 point

I'm proud to be a SP Homer or I prefer Pirate for life. You always try to give yourself a way out. SP might lose to RB or not but I'm 100% behind them and that includes my confidence in the team. I believe your more interested in your guru status.1 point

I am not even a HC supporter but don't back peddle now, Martin's QB is a soph and the #4 ranked QB in his class in the country, the freshman at HC is good enough to start now and didn't want to wait until his senior year.....1 point

HC is not down. Keep thinking that and see what next Saturday morning feels like. Lol HC is pretty dang good. Beech found a way to win, but I don’t think they were ready for how physical HC was. It amazes me that people see 0-2 and think “HC must be down. We’ll get them this year”. Silliness.1 point

At what point do the Gordonsville faithful decide to go outside the family tree to hire football coaches? They decided boys basketball and baseball coaches were not getting it done. I hear year after year how much talent is coming from the junior high and how they should win state titles. Last night was a total mismatch coaching wise. Just wondering???1 point

Even the legendary 1997 team with Beard and Henderson wasn't able to conquer MBA. This is uncharted territory for PC.1 point

Lake county wins this game by as much as they want. Side note: I haven't seen y'all play in years, since last time y'all traveled to Huntingdon in the playoffs. I knew y'all had talent this year and speed but I did not realize how big you guys are. Only saw a few plays on the 5th quarter tonight and I was very surprised. You definitely out size us, I just hope we can out match that with our speed. Number 5 for y'all looked like a beast.1 point

Im thinking of someone else, but it may be the same story. Just no encouragement or ever giving credit. Putting them down to other kids. I remember the best player being on the sidelines for "punishment" for bs stuff , although that player is still playing (#21). Cost several games in a year they never won any. The QB was only 12 and had been a RB prior. . He was new at QB, young, and small but he had a good arm. I think making these kids love the game at that age is huge. THEN maybe they'll keep playing. An occasional "good job" can make all the difference. Those kids never got it.1 point

One thing that helped the Freshman team that may hurt them now is that they had several kids already topped out in puberty. I mean, a 5'7" kid can do well against 9th graders but are small for varsity. I have nothing but respect for Gaddis and All the players I know like and respect him. He's good to the players. However...and this is basically a vent...I feel that some talented kids were lost via the rms program that could be helping the team today . The boy who was QB then was treated so badly that he never would play that position again . He is now 6'4". I can think of 2 others who were fast and athletic that quit after middle school. I wish the best for Gaddis and this team. I do think they will settle down and do better, but I wish potential players weren't being run off at the middle school level.1 point

Wearing thin? LOL. He’s been there for half a minute and you’re throwing insults at him? You must be a BIG supporter of the program (or a parent that lil johnny ain’t playing enough, in your mind). Here’s a newsflash for you shag, this ain’t the NFL where they swap coaches like toilet paper. He’s infused a ton of enthusiasm into what was a DEAD program. Why don’t you go make out with Andy in the cell next to Otis....1 point
