  2. Man I remember a day when I played There were 3 classes. And it was always a challenge and a badge of honor to ourselves and to our parents when we would go stick to the pansy private school kids. I guess The parents are just softer now because they never got a trophy so they want little Johnny to get one for them.

  3. I also find it pretty hypocritical of you to blast myself of starting this thread, then you yourself start a Forrest 2020 thread on the Thursday before the 2A Finals on Saturday. Or maybe you realized that spending weeks on end crying over something that you can't control doesnt solve anything and you need to move on to next year? Wait nope, thats not it, your signature hasn't changed. Hey go ahead and update it to say you finished in 3rd in CoachTs final ranking as well.

  4. He touched the ball 5 times in 2 1/2 quarters. 1. Was on a pass for 1st down 2. Double pass for a TD to #1 3. Direct snap for a TD 4. kickoff return 5. Dropped a td pass by on the first series One thing I can’t understand is why we were not wanting our lineman on D to go up field. Zero changes made the entire game on D. LC was the better coached and better prepared team Friday.

  6. At GP you’re not competing with the average schools for talent. Their facilities aren’t comparable to the schools they compete with in D2AA. I guess it depends on what your goal is. Competitive occasionally or a football tradition? For the latter to be true, you have to consistently get the athletes, which is something you don’t do with the current mindset. To compete every year you have to do what the others are doing at minimum. You have to be committed to going after kids, not just coaching who enrolls. I personally believe that too many associated with the program believe the athletes to win are in the building. Without changing that mindset you won’t attract the kind of coach they think they can. Not from another private nor an established public. If they commit, they can succeed. If not, .500 will be a good year because they won’t beat the four teams in Region... who have made the commitment.

  7. And then there's little Rollred ... a Henry Co fan who is eat up with envy and his red is turning green . Little Rollred wishes his team got all the attention but when they get their behind beat 31-24 by a team they beat a few weeks earlier 48-14 .... well little Rollred has to stay at home and watch all the big boys playing for Championships ... this makes Rollred so insanely jealous that he whines and cries on CoachT while the Big boys are winning more Gold Trophies ... Poor little Rollred

  11. Pops your boy is a excellent athlete. How about give some credit to #3 for keeping him in check. Willis had a tough time getting off the line of scrimmage at times. Again not a jab at him. Nobody knows as much as you and junior. Old apple stays close to the tree. You think im joking but im not.

  13. Imagine how good hairtage and wb (the other schools in the county) would be if alcoa, murvil, and greenback didn’t take their players. Those two schools would be winning the championship instead of the others. #barkingupwrongtree

  14. Well don’t get on the greenback thread being negative about a young man you know nothing about. Go to your on championship thread. Oh wait yeah you didn’t go !!!

  15. You don’t know that. In a interview I posted he said he thought he might be the QB. He is talented enough he might of won it at QB.

  16. WrestlingGod, that is correct! I had a few schools contact me after my finals match as well! Yes there is always chances to move up and I am more than happy to help anyone who wants to come compete at MTSU for whatever their reasons may be, reach whatever their goals are whether it is to simple continue their love for the sport of wrestling, have a stepping stone to a higher level of collegiate competition, or even a higher level such as international competitions. We are working hard to help all of our wrestlers reach whatever their goals are! We currently have a wrestler that's goal is to transfer to a D-1 school, more specifically Iowa, to wrestle. We will be videoing our matches and contacting their coaches along with other schools coaches after seeing where he is at after this season to try to get him to his goal. I will take any amount of kids and any amount of years any wrestler wishes to compete at MTSU as my main goal is to grow the sport in Tennessee as a whole and give the kids another opportunity to continue their careers in the sport they love!

  17. No doubt. We both have a mountain to climb just to get there to take a beating in 3a pretty much. Lol. I heard last time we may play up but we stayed in 3a. I actually think we have a much easier path to Cookeville in 4a. Not easy but easier than going through 3a Metro IMO. I figure it'll be a couple more 4 year cycles before we have 4a enrollment though. We're in the low 700s still even with the recent growth.

  18. You’re crazy! He ran rub routes to the middle linebacker several times go watch it. He was open in the middle several times and dropped a td that he ran off from you corner and safety. Shut down my foot. It was double coverage not single. Smh! lc was the better coached and better prepared team.

Summertown (3-2) - handled Shelbyville easily 8. Cloudland (5-1) - 2 wins this week, not sure they have beaten a quality team as of yet 9. 24. Byes no, forfeits yes. If you are scoring points for your team in a dual it counts as your record. Yes, any scrub can go out there and get their hand raised, however, with the 3 guys mentioned I doubt that was the case. I would be willing to bet there was several times that these teams were in a dual, and the opposing coach forfeited to these guys by choice. These guys shouldn't take a no contest when they are ready to compete and the opposing coach chose not to wrestle. They were going to get an easy win, and opposing coaches do not have the power to keep them from getting W in the stats column.

Congrats to the Turner School for bringin a very rare Gold Ball back to Chattanooga.....the MBA defense didnt play quite up to the statndard that Booger had just recently witness a couple of times....especially the game where Big Red completely shut down Baylor and their new stud RB....MBA just could stop edge the Tornadoes were settin.....and MBA's lack of offense was just to much to over come.. Congrats to both teams on a great run...was glas to b there to witness it Booger just sayin

  30. Nice wins by Boyce overtaking a much bigger set of ranked foes this weekend in the then #3 Dawson and newly ranked #6 Worley. Heavyweight still looks like a one man race though.

  31. Exactly! Plus BTW made the exact same amount of money that LC made that night. I’m ok with paying visiting teams in the playoffs to recoup travel expenses, but the home team goes through a big headache of hosting and their reward is 25% of the gate and the $750 brought in from parking and concessions. Football, any high school sport, costs a lot of money. $750 will barely outfit one player. If TSSAA doesn’t let programs keep their profits, pretty soon kids will have to start paying to play.

  32. That whole ordeal down there at WB reminds me of a good friend of mine that was so in love with this ole gal while she cheated with everyone coming and going and no matter what we told him he wouldn't believe us. Well until she finally left for someone else that was dumber than he was. They hold on to him after being told by everyone under the sun he's applying for every opening coming and going. Sooner or later the odds are he'll find someone even dumber especially with some of the dumb hires I've seen the past two or three years. But you know when it does happen they can't say they weren't warned.

  35. Thanks guys. much appreciated! Congrats on a great season and your 1st ever win over MBA- that's a very big deal and huge accomplishment. I did get tired of my mid TN friends talking about how Alcoa was scared of PC, how we were going to get ran by and ran over, etc. and I will be responding to them. Some have already received text messages from me. lol

  36. I mean it’s not like Oak Ridge isn’t a competitive program each year. Point blank, Rosser is at Central not Oak Ridge so move on and have some respect for the coach that you got bc he’s a good coach. Yes Rosser would be great at Oak Ridge but why leave central for OR when he’s in a much easier region and side come playoff time to get to the title game. It’s working out pretty good for him right where he’s at and central has just as much or more talent than OR each year.

  37. You could tell Loretto played last night........they looked very sloppy, also Greenfield missed a lot of easy layups. But overall, the game all of us thought it was gonna be. I don't think Loretto did a great job forcing Chloe to go to her right hand, and I don't think Loretto played physical enough, Greenfield won the game IMO in the post. BUT, Karly Weathers IS a high-major division 1 guard, and #10 is a absolute steal for Blue Mountain. They will meet again in March for a gold ball. Count on it.

  39. 5A was BY FAR the deepest classification of all 9 TN classes. I honestly felt like there were abt 10 teams (Knox Central, Knox West, South Doyle, Henry Co, Beech, Gallatin, Summit, Page, Shelbyville, Powell) that had a very realistic shot a winning it all when the playoffs started as long as they played well. There were also a couple of other teams (think Dyer Co) you could have possibly added to this list as well that had an outside shot and would've had to play the best 5 games of their season to have a chance.

  44. I am pretty sure the latest got FIRED because of more things off the field then on the field! Drain the swamp! I guess you can stand up for that too? I think the baseball coach had great success. Took a better paying job in Georgia. The Basketball coach took a higher paying job in the boro and was from the boro to begin with. I do not think Insell could get another job in High school game. Greg Mantooth won in football with a lot less talent. If I am correct Lisa Crabtree is an AP at the high school now and a huge FC supporter.

  45. No, we have the rules in place because coaches get upset when students leave there program to go to programs where the coaches that are dedicated and work harder than they do and the programs have more support. Every sport from football, softball, volleyball, wrestling etc. has about 10 high school programs through out the state that are really dedicated to that sport. Why not let the top kids in that sport go to those programs? Youth sports today is a multi-billion dollar industry and parents are traveling the country and spending obscene amounts of money on private lessons and camps. We are starting to see that those parents are going to do whatever they have to to get their kids into a program that is dedicated to the sport their child does. We are going to start seeing more and more parents making choices to either completely move or send their kid to a boarding school to circumvent these asinine archaic HS transfer rules that serve no purpose other than to protect lazy coaches and programs. if there were no transfer rules in place then each area would get 1 dominate program where the top kids in that sport would end up at. Kids would easily drive an hour to attend a school that had coaches and other players committed to their sport. Derek would get every decent wrestler within an hour drive to CBHS since he is the hardest working coach and CBHS has the strongest fan base in that area. The top 10 programs in every sport are going to still be the same top 10 programs we have today, they are just going to be a lot better and maybe you create a league just for them in that sport. If you did that then all of the regular programs would all be on equal footing as they wouldn’t have a single athlete that could allow them to dominate while they were there.
