Great game to watch. Heartbreaking game to be a part of at the same time. Congrats to the Cherokees and good luck next week. It was good to meet a few of you Greenback guys before the game as well. Congratulations on another good season for the Pirates and thank you for the memories that this season brought. We could talk about missed opportunities in this game but then you would have to talk about the missed opportunities that Greenback had as well so in the end it all balances out. Hold your heads up boys, it was a great ride. Good luck to the seniors on your future endeavors. And for those returning, hit the weight room and let's make some more memories next season.

I will be very curious to see if the fan base of the losing team can do so with class. If their team loses can they congratulate the other team and not make excuse about transfers and alleged orchestrations? I think one fan base can but have my doubts about the other. We shall see the character of some posters very soon.

Y'all don't need to come back to Alcoa until you're serious about competing. I say that to your coaches, not the players. They are horrible playcallers. I realize your team was outmatched from the first play, but that playcalling was so predictable and vanilla. No excuses. I know Jeff Harig is a better coach than that. He should have also put a muzzle on all the social media chatter his team was putting out there because it hurt them big time tonight. 13-1 is nothing to be ashamed of, but I feel like the moment was too big for the coaches. It doesn't help when you don't schedule quality competition during the year. Alcoa plays above their classification year in and year out non-district. Loudon plays down 2 classifications to start the year and doesn't do much more until the playoffs.

Congrats to Meigs, go represent the East in glorious fashion. The fumble early and then 2 pt plays hurt us. To any TC players reading, keep your heads up. There are a lot of kids that wished they had the same opportunity. Great Season and one to be proud of! Go Jackets!

I've done a terrible job at keeping up with this thread and haven't even looked at RD's thread. I'm sure there is nothing to say that hasn't been said already but win or lose this is a game that the men on both teams will remember for the rest of their lives. Appreciate that we (TC) pride ourselves on traveling well and giving our boys the support that they deserve. Meigs away side stands may not be the best but you feel close to the action with great sightlines. I think the Meigs field is one of my favorite places to watch a game and plus the Meigs fans we're very nice and seem like good people. I'm a fan of Meigs program from here on out I really enjoyed the atmosphere and experience at Meigs.

Lost to a better , bigger, stronger, team. Plain and simple. Refs were a non factor, coach swenson opened The playbook and did all he could. The other team was just better. So proud to see both teams hugging each other after the game. This game was fought hard on both sides. To our seniors, thanks for a great season, you will be missed! Shame on you for blabbing one kid for the loss. ... Yes 3 fumbles hurt... But so did the block in the back in the kickoff return for a touchdown, so did the 2 - 80 yard touchdowns on the first play of the drives. So did the interception. We lost due to several reasons. Snyder is the real deal. The coach is the real deal. The entire falcons team is the real deal. Great atmosphere for both sides tonight. Best national anthem I've ever heard. It was a great night for football. Lastly, if the rumors are true and this truly is the end of the swenson era, I say THANK YOU!,, you have served us well and it will be a shame if you are coaching else where due to the ignorance of some spoiled fans we have. Good luck lake county, bring home the gold.

One point victory isn’t really considered “kicking butt” but whatever helps you sleep at night. If either fan base says they weren’t on the edge of their seats the whole game is lying! Both teams played hard, one point win is a win. Congratulations to Greenback!

Great meeting you sir. That was the best game I have ever watched. Shout out to the South Pitt.. fans everyone was great I talked to and they supported their team as passionately as we do our Cherokees. I fully believe that was for the Championship and neither team deserved to lose. All the boys on both sides played with great sportsmanship and were a great reflection of their programs. Look forward to seeing the Pirates in 2020.

This game just shows you ensley and snyder should both be on the finalist list. These 2 have competed all night

I'm proud of our team. I thought they played extremely hard on defense. We had the ball with 4 minutes to go in the game and couldn't get a few first downs. You can't blame refs or anything else. At the end of the game we had a chance and we didn't get it done. Could have went either way honestly. I would be willing to bet SP will be back next year with them returning a good bit of talent

I'm not going to go back and read the 15 pages that I missed yesterday and I won't have much longer to read anything today other than checking in from time to time. One last thing. - if SP wins, let's not talk about how GB couldn't beat us with transfers, etc. And if we lose then let's not blame it on the transfers. The fact is that if the TSSAA hasn't done anything yet then they aren't going to. Maybe it's because GB hasn't done anything wrong or maybe it's because the TSSAA is lazy. Doesn't matter, we have to play it as it is and leave NO EXCUSES for either side. It's been talked about ad nauseam for 3 months, let's let the dead horse finally rest in peace.

Good game. In the end two great teams. I think Sanders being out really hurt but Jalyn played well enough to win. Hats off to 23 he made just enough plays, heck of a ball player. The xp try came back to haunt us.
