Covington and Northside would get smoked by Trenton. Haywood can match up with them Jimmy’s and Joe’s. Henry May can but have the best chance to match their coaching. Trenton has great players with great fundamentals, great coaching and great community support. No weaknesses.

Hey, I’m sorry just a bit ruthless when it comes to Milan lol. It’s always a good night when you win and keep them at 14. When I was in school we never beat Milan except for 1 time, so it’s fun to see three in a row for us like they did to us in the past.

Milan started practice a week earlier than everyone else. Maybe should have started a month earlier.

Tadvols I respect you as a poster but when someone who seems to be a Powell supporter ask has Greeneville beaten a Knox Co. school ever? and then says what 15 years ago? How did you expect a Greeneville fan to react? The question wasn't "what is Greeneville's overall record vs Knox Co teams?" So i don't know what truth you're trying to speak. Everyone knows that Greeneville has respect for those teams you mention in Fulton, Central, and Catholic. Heck there is a lot of tie in between those 3 schools. Fulton and Greeneville always scrimmage at carson newman, Central's D coordinator and D line coach played underneath a lot of this Devil's Coaching staff, and Our QB transferred from Catholic. We even have a tie into Powell with our D coordinator starting for them before playing college football.

Greeneville, you have a very fine team, just work on those STUPID penalties and you will be okay this year.

Congrats to Powell but Greeneville needed this game. This team has a lot of talent and had every chance to win this game. The big picture is still in play and we grew up tonight. Our coaches Scheduled this game for a reason and we know now where we are. All the preseason Scrimmage stuff is junk. This was a different Greeneville team than the scrimmages. Powell I’ll be cheering you guys on the rest of the year. Go Mercy Rule Anderson County next week!

Great game. Congrats to Powell. I am eating my crow and it taste pretty bad!! Greene gotta stop running an the middle as much. Drew seem to get better near the end. Losing this game is terrible in one way, but on a positive note Greene will learn from this and probably will not lose another game. I’m sure it hurts, but now the monkeys off their back and they can move one toward that gold ball. Congrats again to the Powell Panthers.

The talk of East Ridge dominating 1A is funny. The 2018 Whitwell team was the weakest 1A champion I’ve seen in years. East Ridge has had a few teams that could have competed and won some, but not dominate 1A. LMBO

I hate to do this to you but this post is so ignorant I am forced to. 1. 2018 Whitwell Tigers were the best team in Chattanooga between Class 1A and 4A. They would have mercy ruled ER last year or this year. 2. East Ridge would not have finished in the top 5 of 1A the past four years. maybe not even top 10. 3. Whitwell Finished 33 in the state all classifications. East Ridge 225. East Ridge lost to Signal Mountain. A team Whitwell pulled starters out in the 3rd on a way to an easy 42-10 win. You also lost to Polk County, another team Whitwell mercy ruled. Whitwell also beat Trousdale who destroyed Tyner, who we all know would have ran East Ridge off the field. 4. Your bias and ignorance is staggering. Its clear you do not know high school football. Sorry that it sounds harsh but this is a very stupid post with nothing to even remotely back it up. 5. The only thing you said that is accurate is how down Whitwell is this year. Don't get that confused for last years team because it is night and day difference.

You really think HC had a clear talent advantage against 6A Germantown? Deep down in your heart? This will be a good game. I’m not going to pretend to have any idea how it will go, I just know that it will be a good game. Henry County has to be disciplined on the perimeter and keep Haywood from the big play. I like our chances if we can make them earn their yards.

Couldn't agree more, it's more like the ACC where 1 team Lord's over the rest of the conference. There was a time when RuCo was strong county wide, but those days are gone. Creasy gets alot of credit ( as he should), but McDaniel set the table for him to thrive going forward

Probably go to this game to see the greatest 1a team in history. Greatest player in a decade according to the guru. Best Freshman since Reggie White, best 1A QB to ever play the game. I'm expecting GB to mercy rule Loudon. Hope I'm not disappointed like the Whitwell game.

The field being as wet as the quarterfinal game doesn’t help either one of us, unless one of us can line up in some kind of tight formation and run the ball down hill. ( I think you guys run the spread as well) I hope we learned and have some kind of tight package built into our offense this year. The spread is great until you lineup on the goal line or have to play on a wet field!

Visitor Dressing Room is an embarrassment for sure. Been that way for a long time. On the road this year we play Polk- Excellant Facility, Meigs- Baseball Barn- No AC, No Restrooms, No Seats, Loudon- Top of the Line, Signal Mountain- Small Outbuilding, No Seats, No AC and No Restrooms, Copper Basin- Never been to Copper Basin but I do know they have a fieldhouse suitable for a single A school. The new pressbox, concession stand and restrooms are very nice at Central. I think there plenty of visitor bleachers for a 3A school. ( McMinn is the only exception). It is not all bad at Central. It would not take much to return Charger Stadium to a top 3A venue. Change takes some time in McMinn County.

PACK THE SHIP... Students get to Blankenship early, 5pm - 7pm, and receive one of the 100 FREE tickets for the game. All fans, spend 5pm - 7pm, up top Jack Armstrong Stadium enjoying the Tailgating activities. Grilled hotdogs and chips for sale. WVLT will be their broadcasting some of the activities. The Boosters are asking for people to come with Oak Ridge Wildcat support signs, to make signs to give to the Boosters and the first 30 students to show up with signs will get a free " They Hate US Because They AIN'T US" shirts. No guessing who I am picking... OAK RIDGE! I like the mix of talent from each class. The seniors have several senior leaders and hammer type players. The junior class is the undefeated freshman class from two years ago. The sophomores are providing very green depth and athletic ability. The kicking game is healthy with a few kickers for depth. I will be shocked if Oak Ridge doesn't find kick returners. The OL is small but has playing experience against larger very talented lines like Catholic, Farragut and West. Now, will we be ready Friday? Do we need several weeks of games to begin to reach our potential? Yes, we will be ready to play Friday.Yes, we need more time to even begin to get near our potential. We Got This...Wildcats take hard hits but give enough back to walk off the beautiful new field up the 72 Steps of Champions with a less than perfect 21 - 20 victory.

Looking back the last 10 years.....regular season, Alcoa had Fulton, 2 year series, Greeneville, 2 year series, Catholic, 2 year series, Webb 2 year series, and Dobbins Bennett 2 years series, while playing Maryville every year. Alcoa beat Fulton the same year Fulton beat Covington for the 4A championship. They Beat a good Catholic team in 2014. I'm glad none of the teams were above average! And, in the last 10 years Alcoa has beat Maryville 3 times(2009,2010&2018).........what other team has done that?

We've had to deal with it in the past and we've had to shake it off in the past. And that is why I can't imagine why any of our posters would continue to criticize another program for the same things that we been criticized for in the past. If the TSSAA doesn't have a problem with it then neither do I. It's time for everyone to let it go and focus on the task at hand. If anyone has proof then do something about it, if not then it's time to shut up about it and play some football.

So there can’t be any good coaches since the split? What are the qualifications of a good coach? A lot of the schools inherit very good kids once they get into HS. Good coaches build dominate programs from top to bottom and keep that success over long periods of time. Anyone involved in wrestling at the younger ages know which programs build programs, and which inherit them.

Yes, Pat Simpson and Gordon Connell are the only two with state titles before the split. Not trying to knock anyone but Bradley did not win a team state championship until after the split.

IMO, if you are going to rank the best high school wrestling coaches in Tennessee you must begin with who has won the most TEAM state championships.

My top 5 in no particular order would be Foreman (Pigeon Forge), Smith (Bradley Central), Pittman (Gibbs), Miller (Science Hill) and Knox (Cleveland).
